    It's a great looking truck, I know someone who had one over here in the UK, awsome looking beast, I have a couple of Heng Longs and for the money they can't be beat but would love one of those Cross 6x6 like yours, we have just so much area to "drive" where I live, just need others to drive with!.

      Roger it is a very nice kit and a great build! Look around your area, lots of groups in the Uk I have heard of! Or get a friend into the hobby with you😁

    Really interesting, thanks! Think YT recommended this as I've just done a longterm review of my own HC6 (I agree with just about everything you found), but I've never known much (or anything...) about the real truck. Good to hear all that history. Absolutely fantastic collection you've got there too. 👍

      Thank you for checking me out!😅 this is one fine truck, cross does make a excellently detailed military truck the two new trucks they have are even better for scale detail, oh and the light kit👍👍

    hey mate ...nice review .,... i am also a fan of Cross Rc ....i really do not know why people dont like them ...i love mine ...i also have 2 crawlers wich are brilliant and have a lot of options and mostly metal parts at a fraction of the price compare to Traxxas or Axial . Here is an example
    i have a EMO AT4 unlicensed blazer body k5 wich came with 2 speed transmision, portal axle , metal shock absorbers, light kit for front and back for about £380 compared to a traxxas with same option wich here goes for £560 and that is without lights.
    so yeah ...i am only buying cross rc from now on both on crawlers and trucks ...best parts for your money.
    Plus cross rc started to bring some spare parts for their crawlers and trucks wich is nice to see

    For what is worth, I enjoy all your videos and found them helpful in my purchases. Your videos are well done and answer or allow me to figure out my questions. I'm a small collector, novice and moderately into the hobby. Having someone like you really helps a lot. I'm wanting the JD custom 6x6 overland, and got curious with Cross instead- wasn't sure what to expect. Your videos covered so much and we're very insightful. Now to find a way not to pay $300 in shipping for JD 6x6

      It means alot thank you for watching!! I'm also glad I could help you, it's the only reason I started my channel! The only way I know to beat the rc4wd shipping is to wait till it is available from another hobby shop, i know for sure that tower hobbies and again carry rc4wd and the shipping is definitely lower!! Thanks again for watching and commenting!

    Well I liked and subscribed. I love the Cross line up but they are a bit pricey for me. I've been restoring an old WPL B1. WPL trucks are pretty simple so I'm working on the interior to get a hobby grade look. I enjoyed your history lesson.

    Wow watched every minute of it and took in food for the brain 8-) so very informative, awesome video on the cross and the history of the truck itself. I personally love the size of it setting up against the Zetros. I havent dabbled in the air brush paint jobs but with this next build of a cross I will give it ago. I want to do my hg hemtt also..Thanks again Gerry sold me for sure. If I was a betting man I'd say your channel is going to blow up with subscribers as soon as the word gets out on Gerrys Old guys reviews 8-) Very nice collection also of all shapes and sizes.

I just want to share what I can, to many sites just want to steer people to the most expensive name brands i don't ever plan to do that, if I do it will have a really good explanation!! The military history i love, although next time I will have notes, messed up abit of my jeep history completely forgot about amc last good owner of the jeep name, also international harvester who also built the truck!! Once again thats for watching and your support!!

      @@gerrysoldguyreview well bud I pulled the trigger on a Uc6. That model body style has always reminded me of a 1953 white 2.5 ton road truck that was converted with a tandem dump bed our family owned growing up. It was a old battle ax work horse..I'll do a here it is video and shout out on your channel.. stay tuned for the nest slow build for 2020 lol

      @@gerrysoldguyreview I Have had 2 of the hg 1/12 series rigs. When first released I snagged them both up for $450.00 each pre-ordered. Now they are around $550 base model and a price of dump version is all over the place lol..I personally think that it is a great model for the price. its huge heavy as heck and I havent had any issues what so ever. The detail is very nice. And like the zetros etc there are many metal parts. There are a few small corks like I feel fine tuning is needed in the shift servos. But all in all Im very happy. A fellow youtuber that I used before "on a HG 1/10 hummer" can save one a few bucks if your interested. He has a coupon sheet that allows you to use to save like additional %15/20ish percent I think. He is like a wholesales guy for banggood. If you were to go that wroute I'd hit up the dump version when its on sale for 650 shipped then you can get it for just under 600 there about. The hemtt P802 trailer version I'd imagine you can snag up for under 500. Ive have spent more for less of a rc which I wasnt happy with.. Internet also carries all the spare parts with low cost if something should go wrong. I almost bought the dump version recently yet instead I just did my own version. Its a nice unit to have in the big dog collection at a resonable price. 3 of them equals one cost of the cross mamoth in which I do want but thats next yr lol..

    Well bud I love these truck and I apologize I never had any questions for you, but I do enjoy the look of these trucks and the great scale detail on them as well. You've done a great job with them and I do find it really interesting listening to your explanations on them weather it be returning an answer to a question or why you have decided to do the things you have with these .. The big thing for me? When you talk about your hobby? you obviously love it. When I saw you scale garage setup in the Yard? I knew you were hooked. I guess that is why I enjoy your channel.
    Now. Cross-Rc has gotten a bad name in the RC world, you're right. I assumed there were problems but like yourself I am not one who expects rc's to be super machines either. Some people expect these things to do the impossible when it running them. These are scale(ish) rigs. Why they do more in scale size than in full size??? I have always loved the look of the cross RC. Mainly because they are different looking but also they seem pretty rugged. Now I have been a huge Axial Racing fan myself. I noticed you got the 69 Blazer up there on your shelf. a long with a couple others, if I am not mistaken. I personally have found that if kept in a scale mindset. They are awesome and so much fun to drive. Well that is my 2 cents worth, I know I have been all over the place here .. lol Thanks for sharing, thumbs up and I will see you on the next one

      RcNickster thank you for the kind your kind words!! R/c in my hobby, my addiction, my relaxing getaway from daily life!! Some of my vehicles I just had to have most I researched before buying, but everyone I have i bought for a reason, and I hardly ever have sold one! As you saw in this video I do overthink things an a maybe 10 minute video turned into 21 minutes!!! But back to axial they got me back into scale vehicles the scx10 kit was great bought it when it first came out and still have it!! Also the blazer, 6x6, project 6x6 and a few more!!
      Once again thanks for your support!

    Hi Gerry, thanks for your complete review. I love the Cross RC trucks and was asking myself how do these nice bodies hold up when you roll them. There are so many great tiny details on it that I'm afraid they may break when being rolled.

    • @gerrysoldguyreview
      @gerrysoldguyreview  4 года назад +2

      Thanks for commenting!! Like most rolls it will depend on how bad, I have slow rolled the cross many times!! Nothing yet has broken off. Now that being said I have bent things and things i glued have popped off but as long as you can find them glue em back on!!

    Hi i , have a tricky question, im looking to maybe get that RC truck , but i would like to modify it to have the Bed tip! , do you think the box for the battery would fit between the cab and the Bed if i remove the Spare tire? Do you think that , that whole conversion would Realy are ? is there room in the frame for an actuator? I would like your thought on that plz!

      Good question! Oh and hello! There is plenty of room under the bed(its empty) tipping bed would be awesome!! If you remove the spare and the storage box maybe the box could fit, but maybe use a smaller battery and mount it underneath also! Hope this helps

      The only problem like that that I have ever had was the middle axle installed upside down reversing the drive, but that was not on the cross. Is your problem the front is going opposite to both rear axles? Or just one rear?

    Thank you for your informative approach. I really like your videos :).
    How does the HC6 compare to the Overland in a crawling context?
    Also, can the HC6's difs be open or must they be locked?
    Thank you

    • @gerrysoldguyreview
      @gerrysoldguyreview  4 года назад +1

      No thank you for watching and commenting!!! The hc6 and overland crawl about the same to me, but the hc6 has less hanging down low so it does a bit better. Now if I removed the spare tire from the overland it would do better, if you watched the sound system video you saw how the spare kept getting hung up.
      As for the diffs I looked in the manual and it looks like they are designed as straight locked cont find a aftermarket replacement to unlock them, but they do work great it hasn't really gotten stuck!!
      Thanks again for watching!
