This is a car i would buy if i had the money. Modern with nice sound and not full of lights and crap everywhere. It feels Old school really good looking car.
Grown up version of Alpine A110 and Alfa 4C...looks like something much more exotic
This is what's missing in the A Class AMG cars: more turbo noises.
Perfect car for tuning to 500hp...light and torquey...also DCT makes sense 😎

The engine compartment has poor airflow.
To not step on the toes of the V6. More powerful I4 Emiras are coming - in China they already have a 400bhp version.
I don't think Mercedes would like the Emira to rival their own product(s) that have the same engine.

@@KiwamiJoryu It is the same price as the V6 Emira and about the same performance. The biggest difference is that the Alpine looks like a Subaru BRZ.
Same, it not only sounds better and more exotic but it also comes with a manual option, which the AMG powered one doesn't.
To me this 4cylinder is better...it is detuned, it can easily get to 500hp and double-clutch would then be great and fast

Ik rij met m’n 2023 mini cooper s met 178 pk met 240 in de begrenzer over de snelweg. Ik vind voor het vermogen en gewicht van deze Lotus dat hij boven de 240 niet echt overtuigend doorloopt…

i would have expected it to do 275 easily, considering its flat shape, power and torque. it already starts struggeling after 250. The sound is a shame.

265km/h GPS isnt that fast for 360hp? If you look at the top speed of for example an older 996 Carrera? These run around 275km/h with a lot less power?

Wow. It's mid engined, you can hear the mechanical noises the engine's making, you can hear the turbo spool, so _why the hell_ did they pump fake engine noise through the speakers?!

@@apb3251Do you not hear that synthetic _WOAHHHHHHHHHHHH_ layered over the mechanical noise of the engine? It’s definitely pumping in audio from the speakers.
@@tescoshortage sounds like turbo spool to me and a resonator pipe. The engine has a void between the itself and the cabin and that will also add a reverberation. I don’t think the noise is through the speakers but that it enters the cabin with distortion

Noway it would reach 275 gps speed . Maybe it would reach that speed halfway if there is an empty autobahn bridge connecting Europe to North America .
Another guy did 282 in the amg I 4 with ease.

Oh, oh... Bad surprise Lotus. This model already weighs quite a bit due to its dimensions and engine displacement, about 1480kgs. still complying with the Euroencap regulations. And the sound throughout the rev range is horrible. I prefer for much less money (even though it is a sports car that is not comparable) the Nissan 400Z. Greetings colleagues.
That's why the true Lotus soul lies on Caterham. And if you need something more like the Emira but lighter, you have the Alpine A110, which is 300kg lighter than the Emira.

i was really waiting and ready to buy this car... but after the first vids came out, i realized how slow this car is and how bad it sounds! The v6 sound way better but it is not much quicker. So keeping what i got and safe the cash.
You don't get a Lotus for straight-line stats.

Too bad to have soundproofed the passenger compartment to put the sound of the engine in the speakers, it doesn't sound good at all...

Don't know but for me it's a bit too weak for the looks of the car. If they had used the A45S Setup with 420HP and 500NM, this thing would be a completely different story.
This car won't outrun a MK8 Golf R Performance with 333hp.
Collecting my x5 m60i in September and that 2 seconds quicker than this 100-200… says it all really

The engine sounds so bad. It's such a shame. V6 any day.
166 MPH with 365 HP.....actually kind of disappointing in my opinion. My 2013 Boxster S manages 172 MPH with just 315 HP.
