Superb presentation. I spoke to a guy some time back and he was telling me that his Father flew one of these special duty`s aircraft during the war. Like you said, all they were armed with was a Webley service Revolver. What incredibly Brave men. I have actually Fired, one of the little Browning, semi automatic pistols that was shown, when I was involved in shooting as a hobby in the 1980s. They were known as, The Baby Browning. That chap told me that even years after the war, his Father never really said much about the work he was involved in. Thank you for a very interesting presentation.
The Lysander's contribution to winning WWII can never be underestimated.....their ferrying SOE into France did more for the war effort than we'll ever really know....
Great commentary of a great aircraft. Would love to see this talk basically re-shot some day to take away the wind noise as well as get the microphone closer to 'Dodge'. Probably an impromptu interview so no personal criticism, just an excuse to go back again one day and have another look at a delightful aircraft and a truly unique museum. Thanks for posting.
I built one small kit when i was a small guy that plane is One of the most beautiful and and One of the that begins the finish of TheWw2 and my deepest condolências to the HM The Queen for nos loss and for all British from Carlos Portugal
HELLO DODGE , COULD YOU TELL IF THIS LYSANDER WAS PART OF THE STRATHALLEN COLLECTION NEAR AUCHTERARDER IN PERTHSHIRE DURING 1960/70s . I USED TO CYCLE DOWN EVERY SUNDAY DURING THE SUMMER.

Love the Lizzie! Beautiful aircraft. The Fighter and Bomber Boys were always in the limelight but the Special Duties pilots were equally as heroic.

Muito obrigado Carlos.👍
What a hulking, yet beautiful machine. Whose pilots, like all those from that time, always tended to be suave with pencil mustaches. Haha!
This plane is the only "war bird WW2" who done more good than bad.
Very convenient breakdown by that tractor.

It was indeed - 1972-1998.
Obsolete but how many lives were saved because of it?
incalculable, it helped the liaison with the resistance in France.
300mph!!
Lovely, but I bet it guzzles fuel...
The Mk.3 Lysander does 5.66 miles to every gallon - 106 gallons max internal fuel giving a range of 600 miles.🙃
