I love that you are doing what you want to do with your hair and are not worrying about other people's opinions. :-) I am 55 and faced criticism from others for deciding to wear mine long (and, 4 years ago, letting it go naturally gray). Yours looks beautiful even now and I look forward to seeing it when it's ultimately the length you want. Cheers to you! ~Janis

Lisa I don't think everyone who tells you that they liked your hair short is doing it with a malicious intent. I agree wholeheartedly that you should always do what you feel is best, but I don't think you should treat anyone who says that they like your hair a little shorter with malcontent. You can rock any hairstyle, to be perfectly honest. You always look stunning! I always enjoy watching your videos. You're one of the few youtubers I subscribe to that seem 100% genuine.
    Health and happiness!

I couldn't agree more about RUclips making you so much more critical of yourself. Every time I edit one of my videos I say to myself that I hate my hair, I need Botox, my cheeks are sagging, my skin is terrible, my eyes are uneven...I was never like this before I started my channel. 😔 I dyed my hair dark last fall and now I am trying to get my hair healthy enough to start going back to blonde. Everyone says they like my hair dark, but blonde is just "me" and like you said, I have to do ME!! 😊

As a licensed stylist myself 😉You are absolutely right...hair does not grow from the ends to scalp...it grows from the scalp and only from the scalp, one may have medical issues or medications that will stunt its growth...but having split ends or damaged ends is not going to stunt it's growth...I cut my hair about twice a year if I am trying to grow it long....Great video!!

uppiesbeads59 Lisa I have always worn my hair long until two months ago... I am taking some pretty expensive hair vitamins as we speak... My hair was cut much shorter than what I wanted... Short hair is too much trouble to me... I have always said long hair is so much easier plus you have so many different ways to style it.... My color was changed to not what I wanted as well so Tsmmy I am still wanting your beautiful color formula...Lisa you, Tammy & Melissa 55 are beautiful with your long hair💗💗💗 great video👍🏻

You could also do, what is called "S&D missions" aka Search&Distroy missions. This means you go through your hair and look for splits or white dots (heat damage) and snip individual hairs shorter, right above the damage. It is time consuming, but it saves your length. Don't go overboard, because when you have a lot of damage (say half your thickness), it will thin out your hair. But for cutting the odd split end - magic!

Lisa~I just celebrated my 60th b-day recently and I've still got long blonde hair. My husband and I have been married for 33 years and he loves my long hair too. Like you said...we can wear it in so many different styles. I follow exactly the same practice as you mentioned. I never trim my hair unless I've got the extra 3 inch buffer length. I've even gone back to the old school of using hot rollers, limiting my curling iron use. I cook my pot roast and the temps those hot tools heat up to! You hit the nail on the head....cutting ends isn't where the hair growth comes from!!! Thank you, for killing that old myth!!

I completely agree with you about hair even though that does go against what everyone recommends. I suffered extreme hair loss a few years ago due to a very unhealthy diet. Some of my hair fell out, some broke off and the rest just stopped growing. I changed my diet and have been growing my hair for about 2 years now without cutting it at all during that time. I treat it well, use a lot of repair products and it's actually looking really good. I probably will wait another 6 months or so before I get it trimmed. It's about at the middle of my back. I was also kind of glad to here that I'm not the only one having weight struggles since the Holidays. For some reason I just can't get back on track. Thanks for the very informative video Lisa.

I totally agree with all you have said about your hair Lisa, it's individual choice and to be fair a lot of us take the word of our stylist and that's not always what we actually want, so we all need to be brave and have the conversation as unless we tell them they can't know what we want! But remember we are paying for this service and when we make our choice we have to own it too. Happy days Lisa x

This is one of my favorite beauty subjects, beautiful, long hair. You look beautiful either way but I do LOVE your hair long! To me, it's just "you". I am in my mid 50s and tell my husband and kids my hair will be long even if I am 100 and there are only 10 hairs in my head. My family and friends like it long so I must be doing something right. ;) xo, Cowgirl Deb

You look gorgeous, Lisa. Do whatever makes you feel the best about yourself--at the end of the day it is only your opinion that matters when you look in the mirror. My hair is very long and I tend to wear it up a lot, but will never cut it. I love that I can take it down and put beach waves in it and have the option to do whatever I please. Love that pop of color with your heels!

Love the tips! I've grown mine out by doing many of the same things. The biggest was not trimming it and when we do its not automatically an inch, etc it's only what needs to come off which is normally a dusting every 90 days or so.

I just get so excited when you post hair videos! I love everything hair related and I too have been doing blonde for years and truly feel "myself" with long blonde hair :) i had similar situation where the Olaplex made my hair too brittle and I felt like it broke off so I stopped using it. I use the living proof repair line and loveeee it but have also loved the colorproof in the past! I recently upgraded my hair dryer to the Sam Villa dryer (very expensive) but man what an amazing investment! I do not blow dry my hair often but when I do the powerful air with the direct nozzle makes such a huge difference! My hair feels softer than ever! Even before I use my flat iron. Anyways i have been loving your spring outfits and makeup looks lately!! Gorgeous!

You're absolutely right, Lisa, RUclips can definitely make you want to try new things. I actually unsubscribed from your channel because you're no good for my shopping addiction! LOL As you can see, I do come back (often) to visit! :):) And I, too, am in the process of growing my hair long. I've always felt I look better with short hair but my mother loved my hair long and always wanted me to grow it back out. She passed away this past October, so I am growing it out in part as a tribute to her.

My mom's told me all my life that I need to cut my hair short, but I don't feel like myself unless my hair is long. I've finally recovered from 15 years of intermittent hair loss and I'm enjoying my bra strap length hair. Granted, I'm overdue for a trim, but I wouldn't get more than three inches cut off. Oh, and amino acid supplements help my hair grow. :)

Lisa, you look so much like Suzanne Somers in this video! I recently started watching some of your videos and I just love your attitude on life. I have decided to let my hair grow long again and I stopped dying it about 9 years ago. I always had long hair as a young girl and then decided to cut it because I had reached a certain age.
I'm now 64 years old and figuring out who I really am and who I want to be. I've realized that I like long hair and I think it suits me so much better than short hair. With your advice, I checked out Blowout Professor and I'm on my way letting it grow (maybe to waist length).

I agree with you about the hair cutting thing. I made the same mistake years ago when I wanted it to grow long. At the moment I have really damaged hair because of flattening it and bleaching it but if i wouldn't do that I would hate my hair so much that i couldn't wear it open. And my hair now still looks good. I think as long as it looks good it's ok.

Power to the long hair girls! :-). I am 52 and have my hair to about my bra strap and I totally get what you mean about how much easier it is. Working out - ponytail. Church - messy bun. Running around - down and loose. I love it. BTW, I have been treating my scalp. I have a friend of Indian descent and that is what she does and she has such beautiful, long hair. I use coconut oil and let it sit for as long as I can while I work around the house. You do have to wash it twice to make sure it is out. I checked around on RUclips just to see what other people have done. Beautiful hair and nice chit chat.

Lisa, I agree about not trimming your hair. I had a mean hair stylist cut mine too short by 6 inches and he said "sorry hunny had to sugar coat it" because he took the liberty to cut off the split ends. Awful man!! Now it is 20" long and I am aiming for 24" I have been trying the inversion method once a month to help, and I think low carb high protein helps!

I have been growing out my hair also....ur hair is really growing..got the trauma treatment...I got strength but dried my hair ( someone told me if u have enough protein which I have been eating a lot of protein on low carb it will dry out your hair with too much protein) so went to hydrate and love it...always on the look out for good leave in to make hair look good while in grow out stages...

Lisa have a look at the Redken One United Multi-Benefit Treatment. Use it as your first product straight out of the shower and it is brilliant. It's got 25 benefits including protection against heat and helping to rebuild the hair cuticle after damage from heat and colour/bleach. It really is a lovely product and smells amazing too! xx

I agree Lisa, I am 52 and love my longer hair. To me it's easier and there are so many different ways to wear it. Anyways, I figure that I'm gonna keep it long until I can't or doesn't look good anymore. Lol. Love your videos!! Thanks for always being yourself. Lisa Copeland

Happy Friday Lisa , my hair is very similar to yours and I love the bed head look too. I've found that my hair has grown by not having it trimmed but maybe every couple of salon visits I just have my crown area trimmed to give it some boost & volume.
Thank you for your super informative video xxxxxxxxxx

I totally understand do what you wanna do with your hair. I love dark thick healthy hair cause I like to run my hands through it. At the same time I really appreciate big blonde messy hair. FYI I have trouble with tarte foundations to they run to pink for my olive skin.

I hate when people tell me to cut my hair or I'm too old for long hair. I've been blessed with hair that is silky, healthy and grows fast inspite of the highlights and blowdrying. Although I have to get it colored every 3 weeks because of greys. My sisters also have same hair. we all have long hair with layers. I went thru a phase where I had shoulder length hair with bangs (aka soccer mom hair) in my early 40s. People tell me I look younger now at 53 than I did with the shorter hair. I thought maybe I would try a long layered bob but my husband likes my hair long. So girl rock that long hair, it looks great and like you said it's about what you like and what your family likes!

You are so right with the hair I just recently went and got a trim and colour, well what disaster hair from below shoulders to above shoulders. Some people just don't get the meaning of trim. I am lucky my hair grows fast. Great video thank you> Love Triciaxxxx

Coconut oil (organic) helps your hair grow. I use it on my ends. Leave on overnight then wash.

I think have adjustable heat control is very important for styling, for my hair very curly and medium thick, I need to put it on 350, putting it on lower heat did nothing to my hair.....I used to use it on 425 , but I lowered the heat and it works just as well... I think it takes time and effort to maintain healthy hair, and shampoo is so important... Anyway, thanks for sharing!!

I totally agree with you..and it kinda makes me sad right now because I just got my hair cut just yesterday ( only the ends , but you know that there are never " only the ends" ) just to make it " healthier and get longer faster " ..if I would've watched your video earlier...:( well...at least from now on I know what I will do :) thank you so much !

I have super long, straight naturally blonde hair. My secrets to keeping my hair long and healthy are using as little heat as possible and using a great deep conditioner (macadamia natural oil deep repair masque is my favorite). I totally agree with you about the hair buffer! I get rid of all the bad ends and then I am left with the length I want and it's healthy. You're so lucky to have found Morgan. I have yet to find a hairstylist I like and trust as much as that.

Thanks so much for the tips and this video Lisa. I agree with you about "do what you like" and your family matters the most. I even remember Brooke cried last year when you cut it short 🙁 and I think this hair that you have right now, which is bedroom style and blonde suits you the most 👑 this is the Lisa we love ❤️

Between you and Tammy I have learned so much about growing my hair out, I liked your hair when you decided to start growing it healthy and you cut it up to your shoulders , it looked great and it looks really healthy and pretty now also, having a super stylist like Morgan who "gets" what you are trying to achieve helps as well. I am using the Lanza and Kerastase and Colorproof and they are well worth the price. Keep doing you and helping the rest of us get through those rough stages, oh and I use the Babyliss flat iron you recommend too!
