If he was unconscious he starts with 1 HP, if he was poisoned he joins the fight poisoned, and he joins you with the level and stats he had in Innocent Sin as well as the rank of his Persona carries over.
Fun Fact: Sudou is also actually the reaper from persona 3-5. The reaper only has 1 eye, and that was the eye that Sudou still has before his death. The garments on the Reaper are also like those from Sudou's. So when he died, his shadow actually became a security system for Tartarus, Midnight Channel and Mementos.

The Reaper's garments bear some resemblance to Tatsuya Sudou's clothes, from the Persona 2 duology. Additionally, considering Sudou eventually loses his right eye during the events that take place during the duology, and the Reaper itself is missing that eye as well, one can speculate the two of them are somehow connected.
I don't know you can cancel turns by pushing button ... Since sudou has fire resistance i have to wait until tatsuya mp run out and spamming attacks, oh yeah the party was annihilated through
I played the ps1 fan translation of innocent sin and imagined tatsuya sudou to have a deep voice, so when I heard how high pitched his voice was in this game I was shocked.
Well in the PSP version of Innocent Sin, he finally gets a deep voice. Also Fun Fact: Sudou’s Japanese VA is Ryusei Nakao, who is known for voicing as Frieza from the Dragon Ball series.

This right here is my favorite battle in the Persona series. Tatsuya joins the party for this single battle and you get to go ham on Sudou with him and Apollo. Feels great after coming off of Innocent Sin.
I don't think it takes much RNG, just not making dumb decisions. He can on-shot the Shax, after the minotaurs are down Sudou wont do too much damage to him with fire spells. You could probably get unlucky and have Sudous's physical attacks do a lot of damage though.
Considering all of Sudou’s attacks inflict single digit damage, you have to actually try really hard to lose this battle. It’s actually much easier to end up losing all your other party members than to have Tatsuya die.

Tatsuya is distancing himself from his brother so he will be safe. He's trying to carry the burden by himself.
