Take it to Freightlinerband have them remove the progressive shifting program. Back round 2009-10, eaton fuller came up with a program for the ecm to limit the ammount of rpm per gear to reduce excessive fuel consumption due to over revving.
i could be wrong but i think the smaller the motor the more rpms it likes. cant go wrong with a 12.7 though, parts should be all over the place if needed
Unnecessary. Contrary what ppl say about 12.7 parts they are available. Now if you call different Freightliner ownership groups they’re not gonna see other Freightliner parts inventory because they dont share parts like that. And sometimes you call different Freightliner locations of the same ownership group and they may not show each other parts inventory accurately, gotta call around but all the parts are available at the dealer 95% or aftermarket or junk yard or a rebuild kit . ALLLLLL So save your money cuz shit gonna break ….., it’s trucking
No DEF right? If it’s a 60 series, and it don’t have to many miles on it, buy it. See if it been rebuilt and if they have the paperwork for the rebuild.

Try 16 to 17 wit the rpms it’ll shift a lot smoother in the higher gears older motors love high rpms

Detroit 12.7, it's a great motor only reason why I'm committing. I have 53 years out here on the road.
