    I really enjoy watching these. I'm leaning about graphics and graphics programming so it's really informative watching things break because it shows you how it works under the hood. Can anyone explain to me what is happening with the lighting engine though? I can't explain the drastic time of day lighting bugs with any kind of bakes because I would expect it would be overly static not the other way around, and certainly independent of camera position. It's also a mystery to me why this is so erratic in non-play areas, but extremely stable even on flying mounts in play areas.

      Its really erratic in the tutorial. I think there are some hard coded positions that trigger specific times of day. The zenith base seems to take Aloy and Varl all day. It's morning near the berries they find and afternoon near the shuttle launchpad. If you fly Aloy around the sun moves pretty often. Its also easy to see in the city where even the camera changed the lighting. I think they coded so that the tallneck and grazer area is morning, the stormbird area is later in the day, and the farming village is even later, although they are the same area from different angles. Im learning so much by breaking things. This week i learned there's a new battle mechanic the first game didn't have where characters can fight without losing health, at least until Aloy joins in. She and her friends will do damage, but others just fight for show sometimes.

    The fact that every night, Aloy dreams that she comes back to Sobeck Ranch and her mom is not a decaying corpse on the bench that she has to take the world locket from like at the end of Zero Dawn, but instead is alive and gets up to put the necklace around Aloy's neck and even gives her a hug is an even bigger blow and made me bawl. Thank you for giving us a 360 view of this precious moment. If we get to see Aloy take Beta to Meridian, Rost's grave, and Sobeck Ranch, I'm going to need longer to recover😢😢

    Wow, how detailed that city ruin is!! 😊 Haha, and there's a Focus at 13:29 on the ground? And there was the small version of Los Angeles near?

      Burning shores Los Angeles is just over the mountains to the south. That does look like a focus. Up close it's the hill she stands on but also it could be the triangle of flowers Demeter planted around the bench at her ranch in the first game

      I'm pretty sure that is just the actual Burning Shores map just rendered low poly

      That LA-like map looks like too close, too small, or the entire dream-terrain is floating in the air. Strange to me.

      @@merion297 there's actually a few islands you can see that aloy cant even go to, but if you fly closer it loads the burning shores high quality map

    wow! a rather general question - do you know why create such big maps just for cut scenes ? pre-rendered videos would be much easier for Guerrilla, wouldn't they?

      I think it makes the quality match the gameplay, and also the outfits match too
