Did all the training on the touge made you a better driver on the track? I don't know if you play also iRacing or ACC, surely spending so much time on the sim helps, but with the skills you have there I would think you are very competitive even on the conventional tracks.
Yeah it works both ways as well, when i spend a lot of time on circuit i can feel the improvement on touges. It doesnt translate 100% tbh since touge requires a certain type of aggression you cant really have on track
You dont gain much if any speed from upshifting to 4th and then you'll have to shift down anyway, keeping it in 3rd gives better rotation, 3rd gear also seems to be as much speed as you can carry through there as i already had to lift a bit
@@dingo_ac try shifting to 4th as you huck the car into a 4 wheel drift. just steer right hard, then steer left hard while braking and downshifting at the same time should get you to the apex of the turn.you may get a faster time. try it and record a video...
I've already tried it which is why i stick with 3rd and you don't wanna be sliding before or during braking but rather have the car stable in a straight line, could maybe work if the car had ABS. At best 4th gear will gain you a few kph for a very brief time while being more difficult to execute consistently but yea i reckon 3rd is more effective here
Hmm thats a decent time, youre losing 10 seconds in small fractions over the whole lap, probably in every aspect of driving (earlier braking, slower entry speed, different lines, slower exit...) You should know that a lap like this requires braking as late as possible, entering with high speed while rotating the car in a way that is beneficial for high exit speed out of the corner You could try turning on a delta time or analyzing your lap in replay or comparing your driving to this one Could also be that this is your limit ar your current skill level (unlikely though) and just need more experience with the game to know where and how to shave off time Dont be discouraged from being off pace tho, i've invested a load of time into sim racing to hone my skills on the road and there are still a lot of drivers even faster than me
@@dingo_ac Thanks for the tips! Fighting my delta is basically all i do. I know for sure i can shave off time in some areas and i definitely don't give up that easy :) Watching guys like you encourages even more! Very inspiring stuff dude!

From the tyre sound i assume you have no camber tune... so how come you have so much grip? Can you tell me what kind of a tyre you use? Slicks? I dont have assetto corsa so i dont know what tyre you can put on the ae86, but it seems a little bit too fast for normal street tyres... maybe its the fov, or maybe the pavement got a little bit more grip coded into it by the creators of the track? Also, if im right about you not using camber... then use it... only a small amount in the beginning and then slowly max it out... you will have to step up your braking and initiation more carefully but it will make you faster after loads of practice.
@@dingo_ac I just learned that not being able to modify your rear alingment is realistic, you cant do it in real life either on the AE86... the modders in this game are pretty cool. Im now wondering if you can atleast change your rear anti-rollbars (sway bar) to gain some grip from both rear tyres? Ty for this video btw, its beautiful.

I'm assuming your transfering the weight to the front using the brakes, to enter those tight hairpins?
Would rather think of it as keeping some load at the front by trailbraking
