You know, I know people say that happens in the U.S. too but the results are very different for example. My husband took his truck to the shop because it leaked in the back window, Water was coming in when it rained, but I noticed a large amount of money kept coming out of our bank account. ( over Charging ) My husband called corporate they did investigate and a check was written to us after about five months or so with no court at all. Those people don’t have integrity they care nothing about their business name or the people That is the problem 💁🏾

Yes it does happen in the U.S., and they get dealt with too lol. Here, it is still happening even after I've told the person what the mechanic did to their car and they did and do nothing.
I realized a long time ago this is a form of diasporan elder abuse. Prior to the younger groups of us that have come, it is clear that they literally did what they wanted to our elders and nothing happened. Oh, we can destroy this, damage that and they won't take us to the police, or to court so we can just force them to keep spending. This is why we're looked at as money bags. On one hand I understand that we come here for peace, and wanting to put the war behind us so to speak, but at the same time NOT fighting, has created this fk fest if you will, where anything goes, and we are literally fighting for our lives when it comes to money because they've associated us with having it all and that it's easy for us to get more of it.

God willing, I will be visiting Ghana again within the next six months. Hopefully, I will be able to treat you to lunch! Also, I'm so proud that you did not jump in on land scamming because, unfortunately, so diasporan do🤦🏽‍♀️

Inez, Ghana is a society where they have group think. The lawyer talking to the man was because they side with each other unless you are giving them a lot of money.
As for the car if you didn't send your car from the states here, you are at the mercy of car dealers that change the mileage and do a good paint job on accident cars that are sent here from the US and other places. I have never seen so many broken down cars on the side of the road as I have here. The US sends junk cars here because the people accept them. I tried to buy a used car here when I first came and I dodged a bullet. I had a friend in the states run the vin on the car and I found out that it was an accident car and the miles on it were exponentially higher than what was advertised. Now I'm saving up for a new vehicle.

Yes, I've mentioned that many times. Unfortunately, unless we've been exposed to this already, we come here as individuals and find out the hard way. It's very frustrating because even as most of us here know this, we still lack the gumption, energy, whatever it is that is necessary to fix the problems that could possibly be solved if we showed up in numbers as they do. Imagine being guilty as sin, but still have support. They do all the time.

And yes the car thing is another issue that could be mitigated. So much could be done if we just made the effort. It's cray cray.

@@inezfinley yes, it's quite unfortunate! I wish the youtubers who I watched before moving here had been more transparent and honest about what actually goes on. So what if people come against them in the comments, just be transparent. We need a united front for sure.

@@inezfinleyagreed! The only concern that I have about getting a new car is that Ghanaians don't respect people's things so hitting it would not be a problem for them. They don't carry insurance so the repair costs would not be covered.
