Turning your wheels is also a huge help, helps even the lowest cars clear most things. Axle lifter is definitely helpful for the ultra low cars, but hitting driveways head on like this is a huge no-no whether you have an axle lifter or not. I’ve owned many sports cars including a very low Aston Martin Vantage and turning the wheels kept my car scrape free. It certainly wasn’t as low as some exotics or Porsche GT cars though.

@@porschefromsamuel ...or you get a 911 without sport suspension, with normal drive height. All non-high-performance Porsche are capabale of parking garage specs and normal ramps. But of course it's all an ego-thing, when clicking through the catalogue. lol
I have the same Porsche .. you can easily go down without expensive front lift by simply turning your wheels and exit at at an angle (not straight down) very slowly. Problem solved.
I’ve had three cars with lifts, and a couple that needed but didn’t have one. The “angle trick” works in certain mild cases only, and is not convenient in traffic. If a $3500 lift is something you need to compromise on for budgetary reasons, such an expensive car doesn’t make sense.
On most Porsches the front lip is considered a consumable by the Manufacturer. They are very easy to replace and even for a GT3 only cost about 300 bucks new from the dealer. Axle lift is still great tho but not a necessity for everyone.
This new generation is spoiled. Back in 1999 when I had my lowered civic Si, I learned the art of approaching a driveway at an angle. 20 years later here I am still using those skills in my 911 Turbo and Targa. 😂 My wife on the other hand needs the lift system. Unfortunately, it isn't able to make the 996+ GT3/GT2/Turbo S/RSs ride comfortably anywhere that sees hard freezes. Out in SoCal or FL they're fantastic, but I'm neither overly old nor with back issues and the ones mentioned ride hard enough I feel it after half an hour of driving or less. I've had several now, starting with a 986 S, and if you're not tracking regularly, the base, Ss, GTS, 4Ss or the Cayman/Boxster models with the big engines are the way to go. You get more wind out time on the gas (though not much), and your teeth won't snap shut at every seam in the tarmac. That said I watched a GT3 RS on road legal tires come in just 3 sec behind a GT3 cup car on slicks driven by the same two drivers. That's a Holy Grail moment if anything is, a car that can hang in your garage or with full track only racecars, but there is definitely a price beyond just the $.
Honestly for the price of the car I would say it's worth it but only depending on where you live. No one's traveling in a Porsche like that so if you live in the city go for it

Was going to say the same thing.. Take it at an angle and you're good
Exactly it's amazing how much extra clearance just going off at an angle gives you.
Nah it ain’t worth the risk. If you have money for a 220k car, don’t cheap out at that point. Just get the lift.
