I'm looking at moving back to CA after about 17yrs away. I'd never really considered Murietta or Temecula (I lived in Costa Mesa and Mission Viejo) but your videos are very helpful! Great work!
Hi Termin8r27. Thanks for the positive feedback. Please let me know if you have any questions about Temecula or Murrieta. Here is another video to check out comparing the two cities. ruclips.net/video/5gyxSKO46b0/видео.html
Great info, we found out the hard way about how neighborhoods with high taxes could make you ineligible for the home you love. So crazy how some have sooo many extra assessments! Definitely find out before even going to look at a home!
True! Huge range from neighborhood to neighborhood. Keep an eye out for my upcoming video update to the cost of living in the area. With all the changes over the past year I’ve been wanting to do an updated version of the numbers :) I’ll probably drop that one in a week or 2
Great information! The wineries can be so much fun! I have lots of family and friends who have moved to Murrieta from Orange County. Murrieta is definitely more affordable than OC!
Thanks for checking in Mark. That is good to know you have connections out here. Chris has a doctor cousin out there and his uncle went to the Air Force Academy. Let's put our three heads together and see what we can stir up.
Thanks for this video very informative. Especially the cost of living. There are so many variables with the pandemic and curfews! We are actively looking to buy in Murrieta. This was video was posted 6 months ago, who would of know...... working at home and all.
Hi Shiro. Nice to meet you online and thanks for watching. We don't have the beach (without driving an hour) but for most people, the affordability makes our area a great option.
Commuting is a bummer, but like you said, many people do it to be in a nice and new(er) home, with great schools and other family friendly features. It's great when people can figure out time of day, carpools, etc.
If I have friends thinking about moving to California, I'd definitely show them this video about Murrieta. Thanks for giving us a general breakdown of the cost of living!
I have heard about the crazy taxes in New Jersey! Luckily in California we have Prop 13 that helps keeps the property taxes down. Thank goodness for that!
Is there cost attached to school bus transportation? I’m really looking into the area and like the school ratings but if you could do maybe a video about the schools and expected costs that would be helpful.
Hi Macaria. Thanks for the comment. There is no additional costs attached to school bus transportation that I know about. Transportation has always been part of free public education. The school ratings we use are from www.greatschools.org as you may have noticed on several of my videos. Thanks for commenting and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Here are the categories of jobs that people I know do: lots of police and fire, healthcare(many hospitals and healthcare facilities in the area), casino jobs(Pechanga, etc), military(they commute), Abbot Labs is a big employer, construction, teaching, and other misc government jobs. Hope that helps!
It's been a beautiful Fall season as always. Now is the time people in the snow and cold start to think the high costs and other annoyances (traffic, politics, etc) are worth it. Thanks for watching Albert & Lynn.
Hi Ashlynn. I am a real estate agent if that was not obvious. We can help with lenders as well. Feel free to comment back or send an email, text or call me. Jessica Genung, Realtor Jessica.Genung@gmail.com DRE# 01876252 760-212-7916
Robert Uceda hi Robert! Happy to help. We don’t have a whole lot of public transportation in Murrieta. A little bit of busing, no rail, but they are working on widening roads, as well as expanding and adding freeway exits. One great thing about the city is road maintenance seems to be a priority. So existing roads are very nicely maintained and repaved when needed. Are you planning to move to Murrieta or just doing some research?
@@moving2murrieta Hello Jessica, I have lived in Denver for almost 20 years and I am so sick and tired of the transplants from all over moving to Colorado partly because of the marijuana legalization. Traffic has gotten so bad I use the light rail system which is so helpful by far. I am a seasoned professional in mental health and addictions for 15+ years and I have some family near Costa Mesa. when I saw your video on how affordable Murrieta is compared to Orange County, that peaked my interest. I'm looking for an affordable place to live by next spring or June 2020 ;) I have friends from LA, and that can't hurt. What do you think of the safety of the Murrieta neighbors? are some transients?
Robert Uceda Thanks for the additional info! Murrieta has a great police department and excellent safety ratings. Last year, we were ranked #2 safest city in Cali, this year we are #5. Check out Safewise. It’s a website that provides city safety info and comparisons. Not many transients and there are no “bad areas” of town. I’m not aware of any recreational dispensaries in town. I’ll put a link to my Relocation Guide in the comment below with more info about the area. Happy to answer any and all questions you have:)
@@moving2murrieta wow that is a bummer Jessica :( I see the pros and cons of Murrieta - cost of living cheaper and in between San Clemente and San Diego. but it sure is a bummer of no public transportation like Orange County has the OC octa bus system, which has been friendly for me thus far... so cheap to ride it to John Wayne airport. .. decisions and decisions to make between OC and Murrieta. both are enticing indeed. I definitely care about the quality of safe neighborhoods and glad to hear Murrieta has that. I will research and keep you posted of my decision by next June 2020!
Hi Jessica. We are planning to move from poland to murrieta next year and we have roughly worked out that our joint monthly income after tax would be around 7000usd. Could this be enough to survive in your beautiful city? Kind Regards Gary & Magdalena
The house price is double the national average and there are little to no jobs, so you have to commute, and the gas is expensive and the traffic is over an hour... Sounds promising 🙈
Hi ash. There are some downsides for sure. That is why we do videos about pros and cons so people can get a complete picture. About the gas, at least for now, the prices are low by California standards right now. I hear you though on all the costs of living and commutes.
Look for a poll after the first AVATAR segment. We want to know if he is funny and if he should stick around in future videos.
Jessica is on the fence about the Avatar segments.
@@moving2murrieta They're so-so :) If it was a dry humor thing, it might be better, but it didn't really do much for me when compared to Jessica :)

Housing Costs, taxes, and utilities oh my! Thanks for going over Cost of living in Murrieta Ca Jessica
We are glad you liked it John! The tax topic in particular gets our blood going.
Thanks for this video very informative. Especially the cost of living. There are so many variables with the pandemic and curfews! We are actively looking to buy in Murrieta. This was video was posted 6 months ago, who would of know...... working at home and all.
Hi tlbue32. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with your Murrieta search. Have a great day.
Thanks for going into such detail about these costs. I'm North West of you in Redondo Beach and envious of these housing prices.
Hi Shiro. Nice to meet you online and thanks for watching. We don't have the beach (without driving an hour) but for most people, the affordability makes our area a great option.
Cheaper to live in Murrieta then San Diego. That is why people are willing to drive 1 hour to live there and work in SD.
Commuting is a bummer, but like you said, many people do it to be in a nice and new(er) home, with great schools and other family friendly features. It's great when people can figure out time of day, carpools, etc.
That guy Chris knows his stuff! Well done!
Chris is just a guy behind the scenes. Hahaha. Thanks for the kind words.
If I have friends thinking about moving to California, I'd definitely show them this video about Murrieta. Thanks for giving us a general breakdown of the cost of living!
Lisa we love referrals. Thanks for considering us to help you friends.
Tax is dirt cheap here compared to New Jersey where a 250 K townhouse pays over $7000 tax per year!
I have heard about the crazy taxes in New Jersey! Luckily in California we have Prop 13 that helps keeps the property taxes down. Thank goodness for that!
NJ is horrific in terms of property taxes, user fees, (tolls), state taxes, utilities, even gas which used to be cheaper.
Wow I like how you compared the difference of median sales price of Murrieta to other places in CA. Seems like a smart move to buy a home in Murrieta.
Thanks for catching that detail Angela. We will do more Murrieta v SD and Murrieta v LA videos I think.
Important tip to consider the special assessment fees when looking to buy. Great video in reviewing the cost of living in Murrieta.
Special Assessments are huge in California in our areas as well as yours I'm sure. Thanks Joan.
Can't argue with more affordable housing! This is a great resource, Jessica!
Thanks Lindsey. We appreciate the support.
Hi Jessica, your pretty, but anyway, how much do you need to live in Murrieta CA, what's the ideal salary a year, to be on the comfortable side.
Thanks for the compliment. It seems like most people are over $100k or more to be a home buyer. I would say $150k household to be more comfortable.
It is getting so expensive to live anywhere...which is why I choose by weather now. And SO Cal has some of the best!
The Murrieta weather is great for about 10 months. Thanks for the comment Casey.

Thanks! We love Murrieta. Have a good one Taneese.
You had me at breweries but those taxes are a big no for me
The taxes are a major factor. It is amazing to me that people gloss over it when they are in buying mode.

Hi Magda. That would be comfortable enough to rent, but it might be tough to buy a house. Maybe a condo. Hope that helps and thanks for commenting.
Murrieta! I love it.
Hi Thekenwalk. We love Murrieta too!
Yea, if you sublet out to college students.
