I’ve been approached by Natives my whole life, asking what tribe I’m from. My maternal cousin paid an attorney to find minority status for him during layoffs( airline pilots years ago ), and he found a great great grandmother who was full Sac-Fox. 23 and me found no Native DNA in my results. So disappointed. Congratulations. Most people are unaware of the complex societies of the Native Nations. Fully functional governments with diplomatic relations, legal agreements, criminal justice. Most white peoples interactions with Natives after the first 100 years were with refugees, uprooted from their lands, or in danger of it. The white man introduced honey bees to America. It became common for tribes to begin to make plans to move farther west when they saw honey bees because it meant Europeans were too close. Surprising sad fact: the largest population of Native Americans is in NEW YORK CITY. 😢

Fellow Minnesotan here, my daughter took her 23 and Me test. Her father was Laotian (he passed 20yrs ago). My side is almost completely Scandinavian with one Native ancestor. My daughters tests came back showing more Native on her fathers side, lol!!! People think she's either Mexican, Columbian or white. She has black hair, brown eyes and tan skin. She confuses many lol!
You speak like "rez" folk so that's who you are. There is truth in your words. It's not about the DNA that makes an induvidual. It is about soul that defines a person. Great video, brother!
Dna can't tell you where you are from. It's like looking at someone and saying you look like so and so, you must be their cousin. That's what they do with DNA. They take what dna resembles yours and say that's where you're from. That's why it changes with more people taking the test.
Isn't it amazing when families have rumors about ancestors which have been passed down for generations, then they do this DNA test and find out that the rumors were all true. Just as it happened for you with your father's African past, so it happened for me with my Viking and Russian ancestors. All my life these stories had been floating around the family, but nobody was able to fully confirm them because of wars, immigration restrictions etc. Finally with the test, these stories were fully confirmed. The only thing which did come as a shock was that I had always believed my British roots to be based in England. I found that NOT to be true at all. We are all WELSH, on both sides. Please keep on updating us on your family roots. I lived in Ontario for most of my life and knew many folk of Ojibway heritage. I find the Native Canadian heritages and their own mixes to be so very interesting. Great video. Love your .Mom by the way
One fascinating tidbit worth knowing about ending up with all that mishmash of DNA. Way back hundreds, thousands of years ago tribes were very small and often had to intermarry, producing inbred kids. At the same time, because these tribes lived so far away from each other, whenever a stranger passed by, the men offered their wives to comfort the stranger during his short stay. Then they noticed that if there was an offspring as a result, that child was smarter, healthier than the others. This enforced the practice which then ensured a nice genetic admixture, producing healthier populations.
@@diwi5823 I happen to be an ethnographer, studying the development of different cultures around the world. But I want you to just think about the fact that the population of the earth was only a fraction of what is today just a century ago. Tribes 1000 years ago consisted of maybe 50 to100 people. If at one point a Pakistani woman or man joined the tribe, wouldn't the Pakistani DNA be more widespread in the descendants of the whole tribe?
TY for sharing your family history including the Minnesota area history and your knowledge of your Ojibwe language and its usage. 👏 You are a very good speaker. I'm Native and have learned something new today. TY
Awesome! I can't wait to get my 23andMe DNA kit. I should be getting my AncestryDNA results any day now, so it's going to be interesting to see. The more Natives and Indigenous Peoples take the DNA tests they ethnicity maps will populate a lot more accurately and specifically. Thanks for posting.
I think a lot of Americans have some Native American ancestry. Its crazy though because my grandfather was born on a reservation, his mom was Cherokee and his dad Irish… my dad didn’t come up with native ancestry but he cane up with Chinese ancestry and my cousin showed native ancestry. I git the dna kit.. its been sitting in my drawer fir a while! I need to do it!
I'm saulteaux ojibwe and just ordered my test. my dads from little sask first nation and my mom from berens river. Excited to see my results like you man, all love🙏🏽
Interesting video! I guessed that you were Inuit. It's a pretty good guess, though, because the Inuit and Mongolian peoples are genetically related. I just had my DNA done by Ancestry and learned that I am 99% British Isles/Europe and 1% Indigenous Arctic. That 1% was a surprise!
My mother, who is blue eyed and blonde and whiter than white found out she has Somalian ancestry and Egyptian. It amazes me what we can find out about our ancestors and the journey they took. This is why there is but one race...the human race. We are all a melting pot of beautiful cultures, colours and heritage.
This was great to watch! I've also been wanting to try this because I'm sure I have other ethnic history! But then I'm paranoid that my DNA may be taken and recorded... lol! I'm a low key conspiracy nut. Haha I'm glad you were able to see more of your background! Yay!
I was thinking the same like I would be cloned three hundred years in future...lol not a conspirist but I read alot of scifi books...lol maybe I could do a story like that..lol
Your results will usually change a little bit and tighten up some when a very close relative (usually a parent) also takes a DNA test with the same company. That happened with my brother when my dad got tested. Yours might’ve changed some when your mom got tested.
When you spoke about getting your feet massaged...I once asked the paternal grandma to tell me the family's life history... her response was.. those who know you will claim you. To this day still have people asking if I come from Trinidad/Nigeria (City township part) or Ogibwe/arawak indians...life is truly amazing that it seems We are All interconnected in some way all around the globe
My paternal grandmother is a direct descendent of Quanah Parker, and I am so blonde ( well kinda brownish now) and blue eyed. I am so jealous of my brother who at least got brown eyes. I don't care, even if I have 2 drops of Comanche blood, I am very proud of it! Don't forget, the Mongolians probably crossed the land bridge when it still existed.
The French : many French fur traders were in the area and surrounding areas that were part of the Louisiana purchase .Many French men were single and left offsprings in the native tribes of the area, were their could ne French blood.
Quite interesting to see a native american from the USA to have 12% European. I am from South America, the Andean mountains and I have done recently my DNA ancestry test. I have no trace of European ancestry, despite the fact of the huge influence and ethnic mixing that happened when spaniards came from Europe. I live in Cuenca, a typical spanish city founded 500 years ago. I do not have even asian traces. Only 0,9% of Inuit ethnic group of Siberia(about 200.000 today)
Oh my good God man, you and I are distantly related! I just figured out the 'relatives' thing on their site and 23andme says we're 6th cousins and that we might share a set of 5th great grandparents who were born between 175-280 years ago. Not only that but it also says I'm 2nd cousins with your mom. Holy hell this is amazing, lol! I know on my grandmothers side of the family we had an ancestor who came up to Canada from the Red Lake area sometime in the 1800s to get away from the 'Indian wars' down there. edit: i share 2.24% dna with your mom across 16 segments and 2.32% with you across 19 segments
Fun fact..G.Bonga Often during treaty signings, Bonga was considered white because it was common to only classify people either as Indian or white during this time. He also often spoke out against white men who treated Ojibwe trappers poorly...also in my opinion..even though I do understand ,me coming from a mixed background aswell being from choctaw an caddo tribe in louisiana but such as an outstanding man as Mr bonga who helped established White Clay rez...tribal council still should have honored( makiing an exception) his family being recognized into the tribe. But I do understand..much luv Brother
Same here choctaw. Funny how the US made my ancestors choose either native American or other. Had to change birth certificates and so much of our family history is lost😢
I found out that I have at least 61% African( Nigerian and Cameroon- Kenyan)2.1 % South East Asian and Native American, 37% European(Celtic blend, Scandinavian, French-German, Finnish, )etc. " I am the World....I am the children..." , lol! We all need to love our fellowman, because, in America, we could be cousins. I find that to be both funny and wonderful. USA!!!
So fascinating! I love learning about my own ancestry and how we are all related! Just watched your previous video and this one and found so interesting how 23 and Me says your family most likely lived in Jalisco, México...I wonder if that’s because we share the same Native American DNA across the Americas? We are like primos (cousins)! Also, I was left thinking how the paternal haplogroup you shared previously (based in Africa) does in fact match your story about your father’s African ancestry. Thanks for sharing!
My mother is greek/sicilian. When she went to Europe with my dad and sister in Greece folks were walking up to my mom asking her questions in greek thinking she was a local. Same thing happened to both my sister and mom when they got to Sicily.
Many Hungarians have Mongolia DNA. There's two different groups from Hungry: the smaller blonde blue/green eyed. They tend to have Austria/Hungarians. Then there are the very tall, large built, dark brown to black hair and brown eyes Hungarians. They have a high amount of Mongolian DNA. Here in Canada, there are many Hungarians that look 100% Native American. When many immigrated in two different waves appx 1880s and 1920s. They were often mistaken as Native American. Also because of the rules of immigration. They, being considered Caucasian, had many rules prohibited that they were allowed to do. Like own their own land and they had to wait a decade or 2 to be able to own a home in the city. They often farmed as workers on other farmers land. Because many were in rural communities, the only school available to them was the Residential schools. Most of their child could barely speak English and would teach their parents English. The Polish and Ukrainians were not considered Caucasian. But they were allowed to open small business in poor areas of cities. They look Slavic. Hungarians are not Slavic, although sometimes people assume they are. They were considered part of the Caucasus, a group of countries deemed "undesirable ". Although today people have started using the term Caucasian to mean White European. This was not the case. On government forms and job applications, you remember that there was a large rectangle box that said something to the effect of "check which is applicable"? It would then list with a small box to check: Native American (or Indian if the forms were older), Polish, Irish , Caucasian, and some depending on the era Chinese. If you were white but from for example England, Scotland, Germany, France etc You Would Not check the Caucasian box. This would give you less rights and access. You wouldn't check any of the boxes because none of the options applied to you. You would leave that section blank and continue onto the next part of the form. By the 1980s, many 30ish year old government employees didn't know the history of the term and if you were young i.e. in your teens or early 20s and was confused on which box you'd check, you were told you were white therefore Caucasian. Over time, this term morphed into meaning White European decent. The area of the Caucasus is a specific area of Eurasia. And although, due to the loss of much of the land of the Hungarian Kingdom. Hungry is no longer considered part of the Caucasus depending on who you ask. Either way, Caucasian doesn't mean White European. More people from European decent nolonger use the term Caucasian unless they actually are Caucasian. FYI The Hungarians call themselves the Magyar and have since the 997-1038s and part of the original Uralic language group.this includes the Sami tribes and more northern Finnish tribes.
My native american dna increased. Im mexican and puerto rican. So im like 28.8 native and 55% Spanish and north and sub saharan African and west Asian.
You’re predominantly Native American, you got more native blood than most of us. That Mongolian/East Asian is Native American, they don’t test it well. European is expected due to colonization but still quite low, just a great grandparent meaning from the 1800s and the Nigerian is from the 1800s, just small traces of it left. Cool story about the Nigerian th fur trader.
I love you. I tell everybody I'm Heinz 57...I say it jokingly but in reality I hurt to know my ancestral history. Best wishes on your journey, my brother.
I like the slang terms and how they're combined with your languages word for friend. Not very relevant, but I thought it was cool :) I'm Australian by the way. I'm Indigenous and I'd love to know what other nationalities are linked to my DNA. I'm also a twin and would like to see how different we are haha.
Thanks for the straight forward talk. I'm always fascinated by the ways that sometimes these results support beliefs about our suspected roots versus the "official" discussions. I'm thinking about doing one - I'm pretty lucky in that my family's verbal history recorded a lot of the nuances of the family tree, but people look at me funny when I share how mixed my family actually is (some of it was hidden too because of the times - but I kinda cornered my mom once or twice about certain features of mine and she so she told me). It may be time to find out if the stories bore actual fruit.
Yes, I'm considering 23andMe, I want to see if my results will show any Asian or anything else that may have been missed in other tests that I've done. Thank you for sharing , so interesting to find out what we never new before.
Have not done it yet but I should. I'm 71 and my family had so many secrets. My children and grandies need to know the truth before i leave here. You give me courage. I hope what I find will give us all strength like yours did you.
I was just in Mongolia for several months and it felt like a Giant Rez...My ancestors are Mongolian and Turkish from the nomadic people across Central Asia but I am Iranian. Mongolians were coming into our region long before they were Called mongols and we originally came from Siberia and Central Asia mixing with asian and white tribes across the steppe. Mongols seemed allot like the Navajo to me and still practice allot of shamanism.
@@alexgorron6470 But it's spelled Mogollon not Mongolian. ✌😎 The Mongolians are Eurasian, that's a long way away from American. Eurasian are the people between Europe and Asia. The Mogollon people are from the South West of USA.
Lots of people don't know this as well, but mongolians migrated over to alaska and over time moved down futher into north america, cultures and languages change over time .. that european you have is probably traced back to when europe arrived in north america. Mongoloids have features that resemble alot of native americans.

Howah, boozhoo. Fellow Anishinaabe here from the 'treaty 3' area of Canada directly north of you where all 28 reserves are solely Anishinaabe. I got 82.1% East Asian and Indigenous American. It then says 52.9% of that is Indigenous American from the Great Lakes region. It also says 16% Northern Asian, 0.1% Chinese and Southeast Asian and 13.1% Broadly East Asian and Indigenous American. Add it all up and it comes out 82.1%. I also got British and Irish at 6.7% and French and German at 5.2%. Lastly I got 4.2% Central Asian, Northern Indian, and Pakistani with an additional 0.7% 'Broadly Central and Southern Asian.' The remain 0.4% of me was 'unassigned.' I also did the AncestryDNA test but they only just received my sample today after taking over a month to arrive at their facility so it'll probably be another month and a half at least before the results come in. Watching various videos though I noticed Ancestry seems to break things down differently than 23andme. They just seem to include that Asianness in the Native American total too whereas 23andme seems to compute the Indigenous American and various Asian groups separately. Other than that my maternal haplogroup is C1 and my paternal haplogroup is Q-M971.
I enjoyed your videos. My son got the 23 and me as a gift. I want to do it soon. Growing up people thought I was Italian . My grandmother told me I was part Choctaw.
You could pass for a member of Hu. you know there were many many Mongolian and Northern Chinese workers who came to work in mines and railroads in Canada, and some married into Native tribes. Just a thought. You could have Mongolian heritage :) There are course people who will say it is from the Bering straight, but, I would check it out! I am a professional genealogist btw. I just really enjoy these videos. I am happy for you.
Right! Alot of people fail to know or remember that recent history. Which fits into this dna timeline. They go and resort to the land mass crossing... when this isn't talking about nothing more than 400 years ago. Lol well, some but it is specific
You have to look up words in as man dictionary’s as possible, the older the better. Legal definition of Native American, American, etc. Etymology is the root origin.
@CmanVlogga watch some music videos from the Hu band. You will see things that feel super familiar. Start with The Great Chinggis Khan. Seriously. Even make it a reaction video.
I've done 23 & Me plus Ancestry and the results are the same. White. SO white... 100% North-Western European. The strange part is both sides of my family have been in North America for nearly 300 years each. I would expect, with that length of time, that there would be an admixture from African or Indigenous DNA or something. Nope. I was disappointed, to be honest. It's a privilege, in this day and age, to learn this much about our ancestry. Thank you for sharing your journey.
My Dad's DNA test showed Mongolian. His Brother looked very Mongolian, although both identify with Italian. I've always felt like I am Indigenous, but so far I haven't found such an ancestor. My blood type book told me that my type comes from Magnolia. So maybe that's why I feel this and think differently. People really run and sail around the Earth don't they?
Thanks so much for sharing. Your story is fabulous. Lucy is 3.2 million years old. Her skeleton was discovered in 1974 in Hadar, Ethiopia. She is the first known human ancestor. That some of your ancestry comes from Africa makes sense. Also, in the previous video 123 me you pointed out you had some Neanderthal blood. That is traced back 430,000 years ago. I think it just proves we really are all related. Thanks again for sharing. I have subscribed to your channel.

I think you’re an awesome person. I appreciate your honesty
I appreciate your feedback
It's all good, the most important thing is that you are sharing the mix that most of us are!
Love your .Mom by the way
You are a goooood story teller!
Yall will lie about anything. You made all that shi up 😂
@@diwi5823 I happen to be an ethnographer, studying the development of different cultures around the world.
Could be!@@twylie2590
Nice update! I am 2.5% Native American (Kentucky roots).
Thats so great.. I will go ahead and try it too:)) greetings from an afghan/hazara:)
That's awesome! How ya post or share your results!
TY for sharing your family history including the Minnesota area history and your knowledge of your Ojibwe language and its usage. 👏
You are a very good speaker.
After you mentioned the Mongolian dna I realized you remind me of the lead singer of the Mongolian band The Hu.
Gala :-)
I'm saulteaux ojibwe and just ordered my test. my dads from little sask first nation and my mom from berens river. Excited to see my results like you man, all love🙏🏽
Find out we're related ehhhhh lol
Gonna post it?
👍glad you were internally aware that there was more to your history than was being told, peace.
Amen~! 100% American And Proud Of It~!
No such thing. I suppose you speak amuricun also.
Haha
I'm glad you were able to see more of your background! Yay!
I'm the same with conspiracies. I figured.. I'd rather throw some native DNA in the mix rather than there being be none 🤷🏾♂️
I was thinking the same like I would be cloned three hundred years in future...lol not a conspirist but I read alot of scifi books...lol maybe I could do a story like that..lol
Native Americans are Mongolians that migrated from Asia
Really interesting! Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us.
Your results will usually change a little bit and tighten up some when a very close relative (usually a parent) also takes a DNA test with the same company. That happened with my brother when my dad got tested. Yours might’ve changed some when your mom got tested.
So interesting, thank you for sharing. Idk why but I got emotional over this. Blessings to you
Thank you for testing. My grt-grandmother was Cherokee and just discovered a few more Natives (by name) in my ancestry.
I can totally see the Mongolian resemblance. I’m enjoying listening to you talk. Makes me homesick! ❤️
Love yourself.
I haven't checked my app in a long time.. suppose I should take a look again
USA!!!
You kind of look like Olmec...but ya I can see the Mongolian warrior in that face.
I’m native and I can’t wait to see my results
I found out my family tree was a whitewashed lie...I'm part Quechua and Punjabi Indian!
If you were white but from for example England, Scotland, Germany, France etc
You Would Not check the Caucasian box.
We are all 🌎 Earthlings!
My native american dna increased. Im mexican and puerto rican. So im like 28.8 native and 55% Spanish and north and sub saharan African and west Asian.
Do you have a video of it?
@@CmanVlogga no just got it on my ig
Check out my results on my channel.. second video. I’m Mexican. I’m 15% African. How much is your african ?
@@jokerjln What's your African Percentage?
Super cool you have an African haplogroup!
I have that, Kenya
You’re predominantly Native American, you got more native blood than most of us. That Mongolian/East Asian is Native American, they don’t test it well. European is expected due to colonization but still quite low, just a great grandparent meaning from the 1800s and the Nigerian is from the 1800s, just small traces of it left. Cool story about the Nigerian th fur trader.
I love you. I tell everybody I'm Heinz 57...I say it jokingly but in reality I hurt to know my ancestral history. Best wishes on your journey, my brother.
My family is from a major port city 1700-1900s. So no telling. I just ordered one. Can’t wait to see.
Amazing discovery. Awesome ancestry!
I like the slang terms and how they're combined with your languages word for friend.
Not very relevant, but I thought it was cool :)
I'm Australian by the way.
I'm Indigenous and I'd love to know what other nationalities are linked to my DNA.
I'm also a twin and would like to see how different we are haha.
My Grandfather was from Leach Lake and my mother was raised in White Earth!
Don't wait. When you're gone what's specific to you is lost.
I wonder if someone in Mongolia speaks Lakota and I need to take a trip over there!
I'm pretty sure that they intended to say Mogollon not Mongolian...
The Mogollon are Pre-Columbian Pueblo Indians from Arizona and Colorado.
@@Bellazme
I think that they intended to say Mogollon not Mongolian...
The Mogollon are Pre-Columbian Pueblo people from Arizona and Colorado.
@@alexgorron6470
But it's spelled Mogollon not Mongolian. ✌😎
The Mongolians are Eurasian, that's a long way away from American.
This was fascinating. I'm happy to subscribe and check out your work. Has there been any new updates???
This was such a great video. Thanks!
Mexican here 47% native american
🤟🏾😎🤙🏾 awesome!
Mexico we also have a saying for our Asian cousin Gordito or our chinito.
I'm Chicano born in long Beach California im 61 % native American,3% east Asian and 28 % Spanish when I was 20 years old I look. Asian im now 75 I look old and my face changed look like a gizzer people always said I look Indian mestizo my grandmother was indigenous coca Nahuatl Chichimeca from Chapala Jalisco Mexico people said I looked Shoshoni I feel native
You could pass as Filipino with a slight Chinese and Pacific Islander admixture
I don't think so. He looks more American Indian
Lastly I got 4.2% Central Asian, Northern Indian, and Pakistani with an additional 0.7% 'Broadly Central and Southern Asian.' The remain 0.4% of me was 'unassigned.'
I also did the AncestryDNA test but they only just received my sample today after taking over a month to arrive at their facility so it'll probably be another month and a half at least before the results come in.
I enjoy listening to your story. I want to have my DNA tested.
“Mongolian”...well you do look a LITTLE bit like one of the guys from the band The Hu. Can you do throat chanting? LOL
Thanks for sharing!
I love that band 🤘🏻
I like seeing other peoples dna backround, everyone has a story to their family and people.
If you're in Michigan or Illinois, it's not so weird for the French. Michigan is a great state to find cooperation between French and Native peoples.
I enjoyed your videos. My son got the 23 and me as a gift. I want to do it soon. Growing up people thought I was Italian . My grandmother told me I was part Choctaw.
Wow! Your lineage needs a movie! Very interesting ancestry 😍
It's fascinating where we all come from!
Yes it is! I love knowing that there's more history to my DNA than I ever thought possible
You have to remember that all those mixed in you, are also mixed with other nationalities, and bringing theirs to you as well.
Do more research on the Bering Strait I love getting my DNA done it explains me
In Canada there is a dialect of French with Cree elements among the Metis people called Mechif.
Congratulations on getting some clues.
Thanks!
You have to look up words in as man dictionary’s as possible, the older the better.
Legal definition of Native American, American, etc. Etymology is the root origin.
My DNA....100% European. French, Swedish, Finnish, Scottish, Danish, Icelander, Britain
On the African part look up Khoisan people! This is so cool !
UR NATIVE
We did the test and it was exactly what we were told
@CmanVlogga watch some music videos from the Hu band. You will see things that feel super familiar. Start with The Great Chinggis Khan. Seriously. Even make it a reaction video.
I was going to say the same thing. I LOVE the Hu!!!
Watch The Hu and you will see the familiar features. Btw...The Hu rocks!
“Inside malls” 😂
I knew when I first saw your face that you are of Sub Saharan ancestry.
Have you gone back to get your feet rubbed again since getting these results? It would be interesting to tell the lady that you do share some of the same DNA.
It’s your eyes-I would have guessed Mongolian as well. I’m 100% European but well travelled and educated and curious.
I swear, You look like ordinary Kazakh guy. It's incredible.
