I've been watching since 1996 (Atlanta), and I can safely say that the opening and closing of Paris were no better than any I've watched. It was Paris, expectations were very high, but the organization of the Games did not live up to expectations.

And for me, during the 4 hours of the Opening Ceremony in Paris it was genius, (with) by the way a crazy musical set-up by Victor Le Masne (who worked with Justice and Daft Punk and you can hear it) We don't realize what was produced during 4 hours and all that with crazy rain when it hasn't been like that for 20 years in Paris on July 26 ! (the only place in Europe that night where the weather was so disastrous). The OBS production (chosen by the IOC) was also quite pitiful between lack of anticipation with cameras full of water and 5-6 missed sequences like a show by the air force, the Paris firefighters or even a laser show during the end of Celine Dion's performance. In short, each to their own tastes but apart from 20 woke minutes, there were 220 minutes of very high quality, the "Synchronicity" chapter is incredible too.
They got the perfect person for the job...he makes it look so easy... jumping off the plane in real life as well. I thought he would jump with the bike itself.
America can be so hit and miss with being popular in the world.. but this just absolutely nailed everything! Chili Peppers music with a top tier actor curated video into Hollywood Hills having the Olympic rings on the sign.. this could have gone down as being super cringey in so many ways, but whoever was in charge of putting this together nailed the brief 👌🏽 Well done to all involved!
