  • This build of a picture frame and the use of a hand torch was influenced by the artist of the Bahamas as indigenous art picture frame. It brings out the wood grain ten time full and the roughness of the wood feel is eliminated with no sanding required.

Very nice! Simple and classy. I love torching projects but I get to scared to go completely black. I tend to keep it more as shading. May be time to try a complete burn!

Thank you for your kind words the best part of the torch finish, the wood ends-up with a smooth surface if you go all the way black with a surface burn. But the best part is after you polyurethane it or add varnish, the end result in my opinion looks like black lacquer. Good luck with your next burn, i believe that you would end up liking it. ;-)

Great video sir! How did you secure all 4 sides of the frame? Glue, finishing nails or pocket screws?

Without a matte the print will stick to glass.
