- I filmed the 2023 Bacardi Cup in Miami and met with the hopefuls for the American Magic women's sailing team. American Magic competes in the America's Cup on the AC40 s and AC75s! They are true sailors and great athletes. they were very competitive in the races this weekend in Miami. You watch the play by play of the sailing races.

Fantastic filming and editing Bobby. Those drone shots were sick! Here in New Zealand we’ve had a front row seat for many years watching TeamNZ develop the technology and skill sets needed to master foiling, with a couple of good results. Now with the 69F class exposing and developing the next generation of sailors it can only mean great things, especially at the elite levels. TeamNZ will better watch their backs!

Bobby, this is great work - I’ve been watching inshore and offshore racing forever. But you are bumping up against what we racing sailors have known for years - sailboat racing holds the interest of those that do it and understand it. No one else. I’m grateful that you did this. Because you understand it and I can tell that you really enjoy it and we know that it’s a lot of work. Thanks for keeping the hustle on.

Love the dingies, love the format, love the video. Foil racing is so spectacular. I was lucky enough to watch the SailGP in Plymouth, UK in 2021. Plymouth Sound is a natural amphitheatre that allows spectators to watch from the shore and the sailors to hear the crowd. A great day out.

I love the racing coverage, I hope you do more of it in the future. It might be tough to get ye old YT algo gods to promote this to a racing audience since you're usually cruising, but I hope it works!

Excellent coverage of the races !!! Looks like good fun and highly technical. Nikka 1 showed why the races are short in duration. Make few mistakes and you leave the competition behind. Tactically speaking, it's simpler than narrow difference in boat speed of one design class racing. I'd like to see 30 boats on the starting line and the chaos that would ensue !

Bobby - Amazing videography! You did a great job, and well done interviewing all those young people. I envy them getting into this new kind of sailing at an early age. It was esp interesting to see the process American Magic is using for their AC40 selection. And those Nikka guys are GOOD! I will definitely be watching their 60 footer in ocean racing later in the season.
As an "armchair" sailor,not by choice, found this class of racing exhilarating and fairly easy to follow. Well photographed and narrated, well done Bobby

America's Cup will be calling you Bobby to film and narrate their races. Very entertaining. I think it must be scary to sail one of those boats until you get the hang of it. It's a big difference going from even 9 to 10 knots in a catamaran or a larger monohull to be travelling at 25 knots.

On a smaller level my boy just required the Authorized Dealer for Getfoil which is a 5 foot surf board with a motorized foil like these boats. He is in Marathon Fla

I want to say I would love to see more of this kind of Contant I’d also like to share some food for thought with your audience about some of the things that are going on in the racing world of the United States. First of all let me share what racing stands for

So as you can see it’s an acronym or a fancy way of saying sailing practice; A regatta it’s basically a test to see where you stand in your sailing skills. Now there is a bit of a timeline formula that people can use
The first 250 races or rehearsals for your novice badge
The next 200 for your intermediate badge
And the next 200 for your advance badge
And next 200 for your Expert badge
As it works out the first 200 races you’ll learn how to find the wind stay on the win boat handling
The next 200 you’re gonna learn how to use control lines to the power of the sail and up power the sail
And the next 200 races you’re going to learn tactics when to do what where you want to be on the course. no let me make appointment say the falling is getting to be very hip and Vogue there’s lots of vessels you can purchase such as the lazer it comes with a Forlan kit The boat that I called the most underrated sailing vessel in the world is C-scow these boats will definitely build your skills quickly. I feel like if Bobby put some of his friends and his girlfriend on lasers that would make some really good content. Also Boby let me put a plug in and say doing some smaller dinghy racing content would give you something to do with the Glamping doodles channel; and truthfully I would much rather watch a sunfish or laser regatta then watch you and Steph sit on the side of the road in New Mexico. No offense brother love you but I think if you travel around the summer and went to a lot of the regattas and you and Stephanie or had a sailing doodles racing team. You’ve also proven that you’re a great journalist and you can report on a story. Good job again on the edit shooting the work you put in I do appreciate it as a viewer thank you. Hey thanks a lot I really appreciate it. Yeah I worked pretty hard on this video and really the views are pretty bad. Probably the worst rated video I’ve made as far as views… so I don’t think I’ll be making more like this
@@Sailingdoodles well that’s not surprising with. I would imagine most of your audience likes to see the girls in the swimsuits but keep in mind as people got to know you you can combine the two and also maybe some of the girls eyeballs would come more on it, as you reported on more girl, content, such as women racing, and stuff of that nature, my guess is over 50%. Your audience are males in their 50s. That also is a very long video to Schroeder contact may do better as well. You could’ve maybe broken that up to maybe seven videos of five minutes that kind of stuff might go better with a shorter content as a journalistic point of you reporting on the story, get into the meat, potatoes of it, most new stories are only allowed to go a minute 30 I enjoyed it because I’m a racer for 45 minutes is longer than a lot of your videos. And this kind of contact you could probably collaborate with Glamping doodles channel but once again, I think this needs to stay under five minutes when you’re reporting on a event. As one of my professors in film school shared with me and anytime you’re reporting on a factual piece of content people don’t want to know more than about two minutes worth of it because if they can’t be there or they don’t want to be there, that’s all they determine, so I think I learned on that part of you is to keep your new stores under five minutes. But you do a really great job and editing and I saw the fact that you have a great concept of being a good journalist so I really do feel like you could really grow your channel faster with quality information content, and then throw a few cute butts in there for your 50 year old fans. But keep in mind another point of you it might make in 15 years. Most of those 50 years will be 65 to 70 and will have lost their drive so there will be no point for them to watch your Contant, you might say they might age out of cute butt contact or I feel like a bench or ear way too much at this point sorry for the waste of your time but good job and I want to see more
Bobby you nicely covered this new high speed sail boat race. I look like the team nikka 1+2 had the advantage as both teams are somewhat more experienced sailors, being close to double the age as all the other ones.
