I love this! I want to use this for my greenhouse of tropical fruit trees. I used heat lamps to keep the temp above 60F, but the heating was unpredictable on cloudy vs. clear skies, or both in the day. The thermostat would help regulate the temps so I don’t have to manually plug in the lights and risk the plants getting too hot. Thanks for the review and I love your skinks!

Coop's let me star by saying I like your channel and I must admit I do not leave many comments and I should do more as I know it helps your channel grow.
Having said that one thing I dislike is when people say it is a review when really it is an unboxing, to me a review is done after 6-12 months otherwise how do you know there are no issues long term etc. You are not the only channel that has done this but as I do like your channel I thought I should say something as others may feel the same.
On a positive note I really do appreciate that you told us that it was given to you, this makes a big difference and that is another think I hate when people try to say the bought something but it is clear they were given it for a review.
Sorry about the b#*ching I do like your channel and I will try and leave more comments of a positive nature.

Thanks! I appreciate constructive criticism and yes I agree. Whilst this particular unit has only been with me in use for a short time I have been around another for a longer period and it seems to work. With that said I'm always glad to give updates and change my thoughts in the future on any product!

The thing is with the keeping of reptiles there’s no right or wrong with most things just what works for the keeper & their animals. I’ve used habitat on/off thermostats for years with no problems. Yes they don’t have a long life, a couple of years but with the inkbirds they are half the price so I’ll give them a crack. My old man always said less said better mended & my pop said if you nothing nice to say don’t say anything cheers everyone

Arcadia only recommend dimming stats with their heat projector. I would never use an on-off stat or a pulse proportional one with a heat lamp.

Coops I have a pygmy bearded dragon heated by Red heat lamp and UV bulb on the cool side what would you recommend the temp setting be for this. Tank in 700 wide 450 deep and 600 tall jm using the ink bird thermostat at the moment

    • @coopsreptiles2588

Very hard to say. You need to position your probe close by and have it set to where the basking spot can be in the low 40's for the hottest point. Also keep in mind the cool end of the enclosure needs to not overheat. Also move the UVB to the hot side they work best when heat and UV can be accssed at the same time

Can you use the app to set a day temp and a night temp and it will switch when it gets to the set time for night?
