The same bill can be used to ban websites/Apps of any countries that US does not like , such as Middle East /Arabs media, Or Africa Media. Even worse, it can be used to ban Twitter (X) as US president can claim X is controlled by foreign enemy.
China crying wolf, when all their users are behind a firewall and cannot access many non Chinese applications ;)
It is said that China refused Google but accepted Apple. The reason is the location of data server. Google didn’t allow to set data servers in China for chinese datas. However, TikTok have data server in US and supervised by the third party.
Yeah... TikTok like Alibaba, Temu etc can at anytime be forced to share data on anyone, not just Americans.
Not ture. TikTok American Data are stored inside the USA. It is like a most wanted by China can be free in the USA.
Sharing the data for what purpose? China is too busy managing its 1.4 billion people to have an interest in what dance you like to do on tik tok. The threat is over blown and mostly just projecting.
This has more to do about the US not being able to compete against Chinese products in the US than "national security". Hiawei was banned in the US for "national security" without any proof, Chinese electric cars are being targeted for "national security" as well.
China literally has laws where large companies need to be partially owned by the government. Who do they think they are?
You're wrong

Who cares about TikTok. We got RUclips Shorts.
RUclips shorts lose to TikTok.
no problem" create American Tik- Tok!!
So Facebook, RUclips, Google, Instagram. All blocked in China. But totally unfair to ban TikTok? Lmfao!
🙌🏻 totally agree with u
They are not blocked. I am able to use all these apps with ATT or Tmobil roaming.
hi, where am i ?
I can live without Tiktok. Can't you!??
The same way meta does 🤦🏻♂️
FACEBOOK SHOULD BE BANNED WORLDWIDE
Telling tik tok to cut ties with China is the same like asking google to cut ties with the US 😂.Americans use Tik Tok to make a living just imagine how many Americans will lose their busines if the US government bans Tik Tok.
THe US Govt doesn't care. TikTok is not censoring posts from Gaza. This is why it must be banned.
China complaining about fairness 🤣
Does that mean China can ban iPhones for national security reasons too?
Maybe but there are 1.5million chinese who depend on apples supply chain for a job
They'll just hint at a boycott if you love your country and stir up that nationalistic pot. Then iPhone sales will go down without a ban.
Yes and if they do who cares
Hold strong tiktok & China don't let US bully you! If US wants to isolate themselves from the world let them, it's their loss
The US wants to have it sold to a company that will do the US government’s bidding .
That is a company like facebook that will hire 1000's of content moderators who used to work for the FBI/CIA/NSA. Thousands of them
Seriously ban it. It is one of the worst, then ban the hole format of shorts.
I have no problem with reddit or instagram but these shorts are horrible for childrean and people with ADHD. They are the internet in its most addictive form and clearly target childrean/teenagers
They could always sell the app to Russia. 🤣🤣🤣
Russia wouldn't be allowed to buy it. Only US firms a fire sale price.
Tik Tok MUST withdraw from US Market. Move their operation to African Continent.
Long run it's more stable. De register from NYSE.
Ps: and ban X too!
Tiktok is so bad for kids.. that its 🤢
So google dont have info of their user?? 😊
Mexixo, Canada, EU, UK, Japan, Australia, South Korea and the rest of the free world should follow US ban of tiktok.
They should also ban Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X/Twitter, RUclips and other Google apps, all Apple apps, Android, iOS/macOS, Windows, etc... since the US government have access to all their user data and can use it with bad intentions, like Edward Snowden revealed some time ago.
They should also ban Facebook and RUclips too. Everyone of them should just come up a new version of these app for themselves. After all, why should any country trust any product from other countries? Everyone can be an enemy! 😊
It’s not like Mexico, Japan or South Korean or Germany or France has never been screwed by US in the past. Japanese companies will tell you all about it! Haha! Everyone should take the matter into their own hands, ban all the foreign stuff, they all suspicious!
@@TuhunluunBionoid Facebook and RUclips are American companies. Tiktok is Chinese company. We don't trust Chinese companies under the control of CCP. It's totally fair here.
@@TuhunluunBionoid We don't trust Chinese companies under the control of CCP.
No doubt tiktok uses data collected that way.
But the fun fact is that US companies does exactly the same thing with international users :))
Yes if the Govt really cared about the Data they would pass Data privacy laws..
Would you rather your government do it or a hostile foreign autocratic government?
Apples and oranges. The U.S. government doesn't own stake in any social media companies and don't really care about the data from international users. American businesses might care to better to sell their products. This is about a hostile foreign government having access to the minds and data of Americans.
The issue are two ways, it's not just the availability of the company, but also the availability of the users.
Every country should be monitoring within their own country, so it's one thing US want to ban a foreign apps like TikTok, which is within their right to do that, it's another thing a foreign user sign up on a local platform. It's like a non-Chinese sign up for Douyin (Chinese version of Tiktok) and then complaint about Douyin monitoring their usage. Well, it's within your right not to use that platform.....
You're deflecting. China wants to play by two different sets of rules.
Freedom for all
Aha, TikTok receives such severe blow, so quickly, is allegedly due to TikTok users honest report of Isreeli carnage in Pelestine.
India 🇮🇳 was the first to ban Tiktok - they sure got the balls 🏀 (courage)
The US is all about "free markets" and "fair competition".... until they are out-competed...
Does China play by the rules? They haven't for the last 25 years in terms of international regulations.
@@littleowlbooks8514 What are the international regulations?
The sands of time have run out on tik tok .
Also on youtube x instagram etc...
China should not be the one to complain about unfairness when it comes to banning social media platforms.
How many RUclips users does China have?
Lots. All bots of CCP
There are many chinese earning YT award.
This is not about China - this about Israel and AIPAC
US keeps threatening meanwhile india did it long back in 2020 😂😂
We should learn from the most democratic and free Afghanistan to ban TikTok.
@@Im.sorry.you.feel.that.way. the irony is that US is in no mood to ‘learn’. Thats precisely the reason it is a collapsing society.
Since US is a more mature and democratic country than India? What india did is just to tell the world that any investment in India is risky and up to the government’s mood. I believe most investors don’t like the sound of that.
@@TuhunluunBionoid india banned tiktok after consultations and credible evidence of data leak and theft.
It just shows that indians are proactive to act in their national interests while US eventually follows the same model after a lot of lazy delays.
US is lazy asf
Internet becomes a lot less cringe when you ban tik tok so that's an added benefit apart from the data protection stuff
My understanding of China app rules are to have data store local, regulated with anti-ccp content. Apple , ms are ok with it so they can open shop, google fb say no, then no license.
Facebook is a specific case, they complied with the Chinese law, but China had various terrorist attacks in last decade that were organized in Facebook, and the company refused to cooperate with the Chinese government antiterrorist measures.
I hope the UK Government officials also bans this app, my kid is driving me nuts
My only concern is what next?.. If our government can remove TikTok.. what else can they remove or already removed?
You are exactly right.
You should read up on history....and revisit the reason for massacres if you really want to know the answer to that.
@@sweetsendaedreamr Oh I know the history XD
It would be good to ban Tik Tok in the EU as well
EU should ban Facebook and RUclips, too. EU’s own app needs a chance to grow, 😊
How dare they complaining about unfairness when they ban Facebook, google , eBay , Amazon and many many others and not only that they copied and made their own version .. get out of here with the unfair argument
None of them is banned. Amazon and eBay don’t do well in Chinese market so gave up themselves. Facebook and google didnt want to comply with Chinese law, so they also decide to exit China. Tik tok does well and has complies to US laws but still got singled out. There are huge differences!
U destroyed the karen above . Nice@@TuhunluunBionoid
@@TuhunluunBionoid you can say whatever you want but China copied all of them .. TikTok is pretty much the only Chinese platform and they have to go..!
That's democracy, Karl!
India already did that long ago 🤣🤣🤣🤣
India has been making trouble lately
RUclips Instagram Facebook etc all owned by the USA it's good to have a competitor.
*The irony !* 🙄
Ban tiktok like India did in 2020.
The thing is America has this thing called Free Speech it is our 1st right..
