I remember when NS got its new headquarters, the stonemason engraved the company's name into the head of the building. It read "NORFORK SOUTHERN CORPORATION". It took several weeks to get the error fixed.
The help they got was deregulation...the ability to abandon service that didn't work and invest in lines that made sense...all in response to where they could charge customers rates for freight that reflected the cost of doing business.
I don't remember ATSF having bad rails, rail maintenance was a high priority. There's too many fallen flags and the short line railroas are stuggling now. this video is hitting the nail on the head we just have write our legislatures to get the changes needed. Excellent video.

Very well said, I hope regulation doesn't occur. Less government = better for private companies.

Nice video!
I am very glad to see a company taking interest in improving their image. Alot of RUclips railfans and users would really find this video interesting.
I'd love to have a job with you guys as an engineer but I could only work part time and live pretty far from any yard.
I am even more proud to be a fan of the Throurghobread of Transportation, the mighty Norfolk Southern.
I HOPE THEY WON'T RESET THE OLD REGULATION!!!!!
