@@celluxis10shi you are crazy. The songs have gotten dumber and more easier to access. Easier to write. At least the most popular ones. (Taki - taki , comes to mind). + there are many other examples. But decently written songs with great back up vocals and decent arrangements is hard to find. It is easier to say it is "generic pop". It is not ... simply because it is dance music pretending to be POP music. So it shines. If this was just a pop song it would be a mid table staple of the top 500 songs of indie/college/ pop /cool radio tunes. So what you are saying is garbage. The past of EDM is not this. Dude have you seen all of the singles that most EDM producers have put out recently. Most of them are single songs that are as close as possible to pop music. They mimic pop music but put dance beat to it and they make it sound so poppy and likeable. I will give you a perfect example - this song would be in the same sort of league as oomloud-bingo players "it's a holiday", or dj tiesto's "the motto". boths singles , both super pop infused. This one is better because of the writing of the songs. It is more emotional, more compelling to provide a message. EDM used to be just beats, it has morphed into song based music that is approaching almost pop status. So you are wrong in my opinion. Otherwise songs like the two I mentioned would be so huge and they are both EDM.
@@ceterisparibus6261 bro this is just some basic instruments with house drums and nice vocals. not a crazy arrangement, maybe for people who haven't everheard better. this is basically pop with a hint of house. let's say that the future means better, and futuristic. then it would make EDM revolve around sound design (which it does, you're just lost), not this. don't get me wrong, this is enjoyable and catchy, but not the extreme godlike future of the EDM genre. maybe will be a subgenre, but will never take over the EDM scene.
@@celluxis10shi my friend.... taska black is a little genie when it comes to producing. He plays all of those instruments and the vocals are very good. The lyrics are better than the run of the mill.. Ilenium or piss drunk tiesto songs.. or dj snake stuff which is not bad. I am sorry this is not house. it is pop edm.. which is what I am trying to say : (sorry for the ortography) ... edm is moving more into song themed structured single releases when it comes to music. I think that is the future. Good or decent writing , good pop sound and hook or poppy arrangements.
@@ceterisparibus6261 definitely not the future of EDM. this is some pop mixed with SOME pieces of EDM, not even relatively close. i think you're just new to the scene or something. EDM evolved a lot in these years but no towards pop, you're really lost.
