I have to disagree. Even Matter doesn't believe in what he's saying. He spends the whole round saying that all Soul has is a pen and no performance but he opened the round by saying that he has 'concocted a facade of being confident and calm'. What does that mean other than he's developed his ability to perform well in front of a crowd?
Soul's pen-game is simply next-level. He's on some Barry Sanders in his prime shit. Running through opponents. I can't think of a round that he's lost bar-for-bar in a LONG time.
Matter's round 2 pen game angle was the best part of the battle. Soul's personals were mostly more impactful and he had the crowd. I can see this judged two ways. Round 1 Soul // Round 2 Matter // Round 3 Soul ---- Winner Soul or Round 1 Tie // Round 2 Matter // Round 3 Soul --- Winner Matter by tie breaker the pen game angle
Soul bringing the fucking heat straight out the gate. I could actually see them doing an April Fools battle where random schmucks from the audience are asked to read bars written by the rappers on the card
me too , i give soul the first but rounds 2 and 3 to matter the "wait im seeing a pattern begin how many characters can you fit a personality in?" and the scheme where he says "you don't even need to rap the crowd can just read your insane rhymes" were both way more ill the way they were put together and performed then just about all of souls material. Still both were crazy dope tho, not really any loser there to me.
