Even in the Korean War the Western Troops had little regard for their skills or for the Chinese soldiers skills for that matter. The saying I have had them tell me when talking baout their experiences was *'It was just the numbers, one Chinese or Korean with a machine gun was not a problem, a thousand of them was. A few of them throwing a grenade was not dangerous, but hundreds of them caused us difficulties'* These were men of the 'Glorious Glosters'' who made a famous last stand on the Imjin River and many of them had suffered as POW's.
Meanwhile everywhere on the battlefield Ukrainians r deserting by the thousands and Russia just keeps ploughing forwards. U guys are living in a little fairytale land in here. Not to mention there’s no serious evidence that North Koreans r even fighting in Kursk. That’s coming from many different channels and commentators of course it’s a useful lie to support escalation. Years back, I read "The Prince" by Nicolo Machiaveli. One of the things that he mentioned in his book was not to rely on foreign mercenaries when fighting a war. For one thing, you could never know how well trained the mercenaries were, and for another thing, you could never be entirely sure of their loyalty to your cause or willingness to fight. Maybe Putin should have heeded the advice of Nicolo Machiaveli.
The willingness to fight will be variable, as is their training. But their loyalty to the cause is easy to sort out: mercenaries have none. They are loyal to coin. If you run out, or if someone offers more, you're outta luck.

Unmotivated soldiers, especially conscripts, lack the commitment and will power , making them more likely to avoid combat, desert, or surrender when facing stiff resistance. Morale plays a big factor in any war, we can see the the drastic difference in unmotivated Afghani security forces that fled from Taliban without much resistance even with US weapons and supplies, while Ukraine with their motivated soldiers managed to hold out 3 years against Russian Orcs who outnumber them 3-1.
Well there's always some butter finger trainee that drops grenade at the boot camp. And to be fair, grenade is not easy to throw far without training. But then that's why there's boot camp... NK simply can not afford boot camp because every soldiers are busy foraging for the dinner.

Look at the Korean War. The North Koreans were initially successful because of surprise. They were then defeated in the territory of South Korea and the South Koreans and their allies pushed all the way up to the Yalu River. It was only the introduction of well over 1M Chinese troops that pushed the South Koreans back to the starting line. Military analysts tend to put a lot of stock in counting numbers of things, as opposed to training, leadership and quality of both men and materiel. The Ukraine War is just one more example of how misguided this is.
That sounds like a close fight to me. North Koreans got a surprise attack and and advantage against just South Koreans (you have to be _almost_ as good as someone for surprise to save you), then South Koreans got allies and together they utterly crushed the North Koreans, then the North Koreans got allies too and the two sides' allies basically fought each other to a standstill? ...of course, one could argue that the North Koreans were better then than they are now. That might be the case; I wouldn't know.

One should not forget that most memory and attention issues in alcoholics are due to deficits in vitamins and minerals. Prolonged malnutrition can be expected to produce similar effects. They need a hospital even before their first battle.

This does not sound plausible. Even as a Bundeswehr consript back in the day, they taught me how to throw grenades. Not a lot, mind, but then I was not headed for a combat formation but for a simple logistics battalion. I have a lot of gripes about that training, it was terrible and inefficient. But they did cover all basic infantry weapons within the first three months. Except for the pistol, strangely. They deferred that to right before we had out first shift on guard duty.
North Korea's military budget is around $4 billion. They spend most of it on 'flashy' weapons for the sake of prestige and neglect the basics. During WW2, Soviet soldiers were trained to use grenades by throwing apples or potatoes; even rocks. This was because grenades were too valuable to waste in training when they were needed on the front. Likewise, the North Koreans can't afford to use live grenades in training.
I was watching a video about MACVSOG recently and the operator being interviewed mentioned that their Hmong mercenaries were terrible with grenades as well. Basically they were given grenades to carry for the Americans on the teams to throw.
When I was at 29 Palms (where much combat training happens) for schooling, the story circulated that a gunner was ordered to engage his target. The young Marine objected that he had lost his glasses, but the order was repeated. Shortly, a female Captain observer caught a round in the butt, abbreviating the training. Stuff goes wrong.
What’s the reason for the lady’s discontent over her duty to “adapt” Korean soldiers? She performed her job excellently, equipped them, and now they’re fully aligned with the usual Nazi-Russian actions at the front.

With a high turnover rate I think most of their guys are inexperienced... The hilarious thing is that the NK might be the most well trained but just lack MODERN training and field experience.

Few countries exceed 10% of their adult male population in military service, particularly in peace time. I'll be generous with you and assume you forgot a decimal point with China, as 130 billion is a bit higher than the estimated total number of humans that have ever lived. So at 1.3B, that is still a lot. But China is already trying to distance itself from Russia's war for fear of economic repercussions. They're not going to institute a draft to send men to Russia. Well, they might. But not to western Russia: to eastern Russia. Lands which China has historical claims to. And resources China would very much like to have. And has very minimal Russian military presence.

So if the NK are as bad as recorded presumably they will possibly be relatively new recruits despite what has been stated by Russia and NK. Each is trying to gain from each other cheaply. Yeah, no. There might be 9 million adult males in North Korea. But not every single one of them is a soldier. Few countries exceed 10% of their adult male population in military service, particularly in peace time.
I'll be generous with you and assume you forgot a decimal point with China, as 130 billion is a bit higher than the estimated total number of humans that have ever lived. So at 1.3B, that is still a lot. But China is already trying to distance itself from Russia's war for fear of economic repercussions. They're not going to institute a draft to send men to Russia.
