      100%. It was 2004 Scheherazade, followed by a brief musical interlude based on Scheherazade, followed by the 2005 feature.

      Back around the late 80's and early 90's, The Mandarins snare line always played match grip.

    Matched grip will always be easier to have consistent sound with both left and right hand being the same.

      @@mkepla8357 Preference, and I'm willing to bet that 99% of marching snare players prefer traditional, which is why matched is just like "why".

      Jerry Jones I don’t disagree, I play traditional most of the time myself. My point was that nowadays, besides preference, traditional grip offers no real benefits.

      Matched grip will always be easier to have consistent sound with both left and right hand being the same. I think matched grip on a good line is always sick to watch. The “trad only” guys normally hate on matched grip because they suck at it.
