My mother once brought home a statue of Bastet, and when our cat saw it, he immediately stood in front of it and bowed his head toward it for several minutes, as if praying.
lol, good one 🤣
@@lipgloss202it can happen, I don’t know why that seems so impossible to you… there’s a lot more to everything than you’re told…
@@Cassxowary yeah but it does not mean he exist xDDDDDD
''That's just a black cat''
All cats are Bast. Dua Bast, Dua Netjer and Netjeru.
A cat is fine too.
I had a black cat named Cheech and he was a massive house panther. lol he used to sleep on our bed and take up most of the space.
My black cat's name is Ichabod Crane - I call him Icky for short! lol He sounds a lot like your Cheech was 💖
Aztec gods next please!
''Have you gone mad? How can i read such an old tablet?'' 🤣
I really appreciate it that the first image was always an ancient original, giving our friends the chance to get in touch with the original culture. Modern depictions might look "cool", but also carry a lot of our own aesthetics and culture.
Also it is important when taling about ancient egyptian religion that this culture span at least 2,000 years, a lot of views and believes changed, also changing the aspects and importance of many gods. Good job on working that out.
Oh and since it was a really early civilization of course they worshipped things they saw in nature: The mighty animals of the nile, connected with the water that ensured fertility and therfore their survival, or the cat that hunted mice and guarded the important gain and such. Overall, really enjoyed this episode.
My black cat Frankie is who i Identify as my familiar.
Obsessed with Egyotology, so to see my favourite men talk and learn about Egyptian gods has made my day.
When Babu mentioned the cats didn't bury themselves, they meant that much to their humans is just spot on.
Cats absorb negative energy around us, and from us. They are spiritual protectors and great friends that last their lifetime if you treat them with the respect they deserve.
Thank you for everything that went into this upload for us.
Much love from the UK 🇬🇧
Thor isn't the only mythical god in the MCU, Bastet is also known as Bast, Black Panther is it's avatar in the MCU, Bastet's brother is Khonshu, Moon Knight is his avatar. Taweret also shows up in a couple episodes of the Moon Knight tv show, she's adorable. The Greek god Hercules will also be joining the Avengers in the next phase. Zeus was played by Russell Crowe in Thor: Love & Thunder in a not very flattering performance, it was funny but made Zeus look like an idiot.
Bastet had a human body, cats were her familiars, not the goddess herself.
Videos about different gods are really great. Maybe do slavic or indigenous american mythology next?
It is so interesting how they saw a statue of Maat and thought of yoga. It kinda is in the same ballpark. Harmony, balance, truth goes hand-in-hand with the serenity of yoga.
My revered gods. You did such a great job explaining them. May the gods of Egypt bless all the people of India!
I like how frank raeen is with babu with having 35 years of age gap
Raeen is probably like a son to Babu by now
Oh wow Raeen and Babu play off each other so well in this one
My black cat, Chandler Bing, has Bastet as his nickname since he looks so much like her. ❤❤
As a nickname you could call him, Miss Chalandler Bong.
@@poppletop8331 hahahahaha I could do that! 🤣👍🏽
If you killed a cat in ancient Egypt you got put to death!
good
Depends on the civilization. Ancient Egypt is not the same as ancient-ancient Egypt. Back then lions were most likely the more respected creature judging by the Sphinx that originally also had a lion face and is far older than the pyramids. They are all also pointed towards the constellation "Leo". I assume that cats got respect by being apart of the feline family and being easier to domesticate to some extent.
@@paddington1670 You beat me to it haha!
@@TheBloopers30 I've never heard about the constellation Leo and the Egyptians! What a cool nugget learn, thank you! 🤍🙏🕊
Would be nice to see them react to mythological stories.
And GodGuesser, Round 3! :D Very awesome - what might be left after that? Aztecs maybe? Or Japanese Shinto?
Anyway, now they are ready for The Mummy! :)
There's a lot of Indian gods and mythology too, I think that could be fun since they are from there
Are they getting ready to watch The Mummy 1999? 😃
That would be perfect😍
Or Stargate?
they already did The Mummy 1998
Hell nah.. mummy is a horrible example of Egyptians
@@Mr.Panther2320 At least in the film they didn’t litter the streets or rob passers-by. So yes
Very , very good video. Its culture TV! ;-)
im curious to see them react to indian gods and maybe share their own personal knowledge with us and also compare it to your details. what do you think since i know there's a lot there too
Now they can see Stargate!
I have a black cat named Nox that definitely brings us good luck
I used to have one named Sooty, I was his servant.😆
3:35 Babu pulls a Columbo
Japanese shinto gods next pls
I have a shepherd dog of Belgian and Dutch ancestry, and I have seen it in a "meme" where they compare his type to Anubis.
He has short hair and a black face and a very lean body with big muscles. He does look like an ancient statue...
Dutch,Shepherd😊never ever,german maybe!
Is there going to be any villagers playing poly bridge 2? The game is 100% playable with a mouse and the concept is extremely simple
Love this series! Maybe Mayan gods next as they seem to enjoy things about Mexico.
Slavic gods next please?
Give me your glases😂😂❤
My black cat Kovu, taken too early... I will find you again, my son.
Egyptian gods are so confusing. There are so many, and so much overlap!
I once dressed up in a costume meant to resemble the Egyptian god of the earth, Geb. Autocorrect almost got me on the name of the Egyptian god.
It was a school assignment.
Please show them the Slavic or Native American Gods
Sir, make them guess the ancient Arabian gods.
Japanese gods in the future?
Now make them watch American Gods
Cats were sacred in Egypt, as they should be ❤ smart people :)
I mean, it’s because there’s at least one planet where they’re catlike so that makes sense too (:
A 20 minute History Channel video would be way more beneficial and fun

No one cares. Thumbs down to you.
Around 1300 BCE the Egyptians started peaceful trade with the Greeks and then Pharoah Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti were fascinated by their mythology, that's around the time of the creation of the first monotheistic religion by Pharoah Akhenaten, he retold the story of Zeus impregnating a human to give birth to Hercules and made it about himself being the man-god and his father Amenhotep II being the one true god, essentially claiming to be the first version of a Jesus-like character.
Akhenaten made huge changes to religion in Egypt, declared the polytheistic gods dead and converted their temples into monotheistic churches dedicated to him and his father and when he died Egyptian culture had to basically start over from scratch, that's when Hathor became Isis. Raeen made me think of that when he said Ra was a lot like Zeus, but in reality Ra is around 1,800 years older than Zeus, it wasn't until Akhenaten came & went that Greek myths started influencing Egyptian myths, the two combined with Akhenaten's third religion to become Judaism/Jews and Zoroastrian/Canaanites when the followers were banished by Pharoah Rameses II about 100 years after Akhenaten's death.
While the Christians snuck in and kidnapped baby Jesus as their own myth to form a new religion around about 300 ACE Judaism had formed a splinter group that eventually evolved into Shia Islam and Zoroastrianism became Sunni Islam. That's 5 different versions of the Ra/Akhenaten monotheistic religion over roughly 1,700 years. Christians have even split into different groups, hundreds of denominations that can't agree on a single Book of their "self-evident" bible, and have been involved in a silent little Holy War for centuries, you can see it all in US politics 2 Party system, Protestant Conservatives vs Catholic Centrists from the Civil War to the current state of affairs involving an orange traitor. Over the last 1,500 years those five religions have been the basis of nearly every major conflict on Earth and deaths of millions, all because of one guy.
Y'know, when you study the history of religions and how they evolved it's almost like a game of telephone, it changes slightly with every generation, adapts, omits, adds or rewrites various sections until they evolve and divide like living cells.
Isis was influenced by Greek myth, she's New Kingdon, not the other way around, she was basically a reboot of Hathor of the Old Kingdom, same character with a few changes, Isis was influenced by the story of Hypollita, one of Zeus' Amazons and defender of Olympus. (Edit I said Bruunhilde, Valkyrie and defender of Asgard, they were also influenced by the Greeks but I digress, Hathor was infused with some Amazon and got a name change, kinda becoming the Egyptian Wonder Woman).
The background music is annoying. If it ain't broke, no need to fix it.
There is only one God.
One God with a big G (consciousness), gods with little g were probably either Atlanteans, aliens or interdimensional beings
Monotheistic cope.
Monotheism originated in Egypt, Pharoah Akhenaten claimed his father Amenhotep II was the one true god who made himself flesh to impregnate a human to give birth to himself, Akhenaten was the result and Amenhotep II was represented as the sun with rays of light that represented a beard and a beard represented wisdom. He didn't even make that up by himself, he stole the concept from the Greek myth of the birth of Hercules.
Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti were represented with elongated limbs and heads which is the cause of so many ancient aliens theories. When he died Nefertiti went into a 4 year mourning and since Tut was still a baby his father-in-law, Nefertiti's father Ay became a temporary Pharoah and had all the monotheist temples destroyed and all their teachings confiscated so Egypt could return to polytheism and all was normal again for about 100 years.
A century after Akhenaten's death during the reign of Rameses II there was a scribe named Mose who found the monotheist religious scrolls and started teaching them in secret, when Pharoah found out he was teaching it they begged to be allowed to continue and even said they would worship far from the city but the Pharoah declared them heretics and banished them. The Hebrews that were banished split into two groups when they arrived in what's now Saudi Arabia, the Mediterranean Egyptians who had mainly migrated from Greece and Eastern Europe and the African black Hebrews from areas like Ethiopia. The lighter skinned Hebrews created the Curse of Ham to justify persecution of the blacks, they were called the Canaanites after Canaan, son of Ham, and banished them North towards modern day Israel where they evolved into Jebusites and founded the city of Jerusalem while the Hebrews who evolved the same original Akhenaten religion into Judaism travelled South into Yemen then North-East into Iraq and founded the city of Babylon.
King David of the Jews did not like that the black castoffs had founded a better city so he decided to commit genocide and take it, the Jews refer to that as "Uniting Jerusalem". The survivors of the attempted genocide escaped North and East, and after many generations their religion evolved into Sunni Islam, believers of the Prophet Abraham while the Jews also had a separation of ideals where the believers of the Prophet of Allah (King David) created the Shia form of Islam. Now you have 4 different versions of the same god and we haven't even mentioned Christianity, the Great Schism or it's many different denominational interpretations of the 1 true god. If any of the Abrahamic bibles were self-evident as all theists claim, then there wouldn't be so many different versions of it, none of them capable of backing up that claim with a shred of evidence.
Essentially the person every Muslim, Jew and Christian is worshipping is Amenhotep II and by extension Pharoah Akhenaten as his demi-god son with Mose the Scribe aka Moses as the guy who founded the second round of monotheism completely by accident.
@ll7868 there is only one God. Period
