Safety and ease are the reasons why I'd get this. My kid cna break down boxes for me with little worry on my part. Meanwhile watching you use the box cutter and the blade was giving me worries I was gonna see a fingertip fly off.
Looks like a pretty handy tool. Gives a clean straight cut. Also looks a lot safer than a open blade. Also worth it for how smooth it cut that blister pack!
Just bought one new for $10 at a liquidation warehouse that deals in overstock, open box merchandise and unclaimed packages. Didn't know it's rechargeable. As a tools and DIY guy I'd gladly pay $35 for the convenience and effectiveness based on your demonstration. Looking forward to using this instead of the exacto on all the delivery and Costco boxes, and blister packs.
Awesome little tool. This seems like something that would make a great Mother's Day gift if she is always ordering lots of packages. It can also be great for someone who has arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. The fact that it rips through blister packs makes it a tool I'm going to consider buying myself, though.
I'm doing paper mache on cardboard experiments for my spinning wheels, used to own a beautiful lendrum, with arthritic hands and vascular disorder so just swinging a frying pan to the sink for dishes can make veins twist raise and break in my hands. So when you said the knife goes faster, I have one of those for all the circles I'm cutting, hundreds of circles, for the various experimental builds with ball bearings and wood inserts, but I gotta tell you, while terrified of using this, the knife and scissors really mangles my hands, thumb, wrist, and hurts me, so there is an advantage, that knife is only faster for straight cuts with non arthritic hands.
Biggest problem I see with this thing is the internal battery. Internal battery tools like this are a no-go for me. They need either a removable battery like the Makita, or at the very least have a battery compartment with swappable batteries, preferably something strong but replaceable like an 18650... I'd be curious if it has an 18650 internally just wired in, and if its easy to disassemble and remove. Nothing worse than having a nice old reliable tool that after 2-3 years gives up the ghost just because the stupid battery won't hold a charge for more than a minute...
If you run a wide piece of tape across the surface of the rug to tack down the nap it might prevent (or at least minimize) the nap from getting caught up into the blade.
It's a nice tool, but I have a Leatherman P4 that has a package/box opener. It's actually not even sharp but it cuts through that hard plastic and boxes. Gr8 vid. 🗡
Bought it when it first came out. When you buy shit that sealed with that thick plastic cut right through it. Card board if you have thick cardboard cut along the box not across it . This tool is bad ass period.
Could you test it on vinyl tiles if you have any on hand. I know the Makita can handle it but getting conflicting advice on if the Work can handle it. Thanks for posting this review by the way.
This is a FANTASTIC video.. I am a blade girl myself.. I can see if you craft with cardboard this would be great.. I am getting the worx . And that spyderco blade.. Loving me that blade
I’ve had mine charging for 3 hours and it’s still glowing red. Not going green. Looked at the paper work, no mention of how long to charge it. How long does it need to be plugged in before the red light goes out?
I have the tool and haven't been that impressed and searching for ideas what I'm doing wrong or if my expectations are unreasonable. You mentioned amazon boxes ... let's see an amazon delivered box with package tape opened with one of these. Amazon envelope ... not a problem, boxes with packaging tape on them ... lets see you do that.
Wandering off-course while cutting the rubber mat had nothing to do with the rubber mat, it was your position sitting behind the material rather than standing above it. If anything, a material with long, straight ribs should lend itself to easily cutting straight.
I have the white zip snip that I bought from Hsn. It has a guard on it. I can’t get the guard opened. I squeezed the handle & the switch doesn’t move I am guessing because the guard is not pulled down. But I can’t budge it. How do I open the guard?
Question is can we CUT a carpet thats FLAT onto the floor NO open edges?! That botton sharpening thing tbete looks like its IN THE WAY. Oh you said your self defense knife? Wow in reality thats a very dangerous looking black knife you got there!
@@ChrispyThings I was wondering if this tool could cut leather and how thick. I would imagine it could easily cut soft and thin leather, but wonder if it can cut through thicker pieces. Also, when cutting the carpeting, that tool seems to cut better if you turn the carpeting upside down, with the backing facing up.
@@ChrispyThings The reason I pointed it out is because there are small saws that look very similar but have high speed blades with teeth or abrasive wheels. Those are saws. And where did you get the idea this was a circular saw? Nowhere on the packaging or product information does it say that. You just made it up because you got confused. So basically I'm protecting your viewers from making the same accidental mistake you did. But in your defense it looks like a saw so its easy to call it that without thinking too deeply about it.
A solution looking for a problem. Someone just sent me one out of the blue so I looked it up and found your video. Since I didn't buy this. I didn't ask for this. All I'm thinking is wtf? Who needs this? Even my 200 year old grandmother would rather use scissors. Harsh sure, I'm just sick of cheap Chinese gimmicky crap cluttering up the universe.

Ask your mother or someone with arthritis to compare. That's where this would come in handy
Just wht I was thinking. I dont hv much strength in my hands. It wd wk better for me. Like opening pet food bags n cat litter bxs. Thx.

I still use this for blister packs. Works great even now
I just got one, and am looking forward to reducing a bunch of boxes in size to fit in the recycling.
I JUST BOUGHT ONE YESTERDAY FROM AMAZON ILL I USE IT FOR BLISTER PACKS WORKS DAMN GOOD!
Yep! I use this all the time now
Thank you 🙏
I have wicked arthritis from chemo so this would be very handy. Sick of the amazon boxes and breaking those down; so much pain.

The blister packs sold it for me too.
Item very good for seniors.
Great Review !! 35$ is Still Steep but for someone like me who is Lazy to Use my Energy using Box Cutters, this one Just Works
Thanks for watching!
Thank you.
Utility knife is better for cutting really thick cardboard. Electric one is better for cutting small pieces multiple times.

Smooth cut ,it can design when you compare to scissors and mostly card board .good for designing
Worx is always worth it. Mikita is just over prices name.
I got one today and have several large Bicycle cardboard boxes to cut up plus of course many Amazon boxes =)
I use this thing all the time. It zips through cardboard. It’s a time saver.
I do like this a lot and I like you gave a review on something different than wallets and flashlight 🔦 this is worth the money 💰
I started YT with gadget videos and I’m going to start mixing more of them in the rotation. Variety! 👍🏻

I love the P4. It’s primarily my work multi tool. I always forget there’s a package opener on it.
Works well for me I like it
You should have put down a sheet of scrap wood to actually cut with the utility knife on a surface
Nice shirt..

Agreed
Great way to dull the blade on that new Spyderco - use the replaceable utility knife blades and save your new knife.
Oh I’m aware. I was using the knife just to prove a point though.
These are on sale for twenty two dollars at best buy right freaking now!
Curious about this cutting acrylic sheets
This what i want to know too :)

Thanks for posting this review by the way.
I tested this on some extra vinyl tiles that I had left over from doing my bathroom floors. It tore through it.
I need it mainly for Tile and sheetrock.
Will it cut 1/8" Masonite?
Does a zip snip work just as well cutting curves as it does cutting straight?
Absolutely. I cut curves in cardboard all the time.
@@ChrispyThings Thanks a ton!
@@ChrispyThings good for replying
Whats the name again of that black knife ??
Great review, but the way that you handle those knifes, how do you still have all your fingers..?
Still have all 10 bud
Can use for wood?
Anybody knows what to do if it snags on a piece on tape?

I need a tool to cut small area of wood in an awkward splace in dollhouse
Can it cut 3mm fabric-rubber mousepad?
Also is it dual voltage? Can I charge it on a 220v grid system?
Thanks!
I wonder if it could be used on acrylic panels.
I guess it would depend on the thickness of the panel.
@@ChrispyThings example 3mm-5mm thickness? the issue is will it break the acrylic
I got one for Xmas and came here to figure out if I was missing something. Nope.

It has absolutely no problems cutting through a box with tape on it. I do it everyday
Did I see pizza on that list of things to cut?
WHERE DID YOU GET THE SPIDER HIBO KNIFE?
Blade HQ
Where can I get this cutter In South Africa, KwaZulu Natal?
Link. In my description box

Obviously a boxcutter is not as economical as that tool, since boxcutters don't have self-sharpening blades. I have to get one of those.
For D.I.Y popcicle art or making prop knives like a Balisong or something better it would be useful ?
I’m not familiar with those projects so I can’t really answer. As long as the materials you’re cutting will fit.
Will this cut vinyl siding

Open the guard? The guard shouldn’t open at all.
6:35 - переверни.. лезвие будет лучше резать с твёрдой стороны материала

Thanks for sharing. Probably not worth it for me, since I don't cut much (except the cheese 😜)
Ha.
Cutting carpet???
Cut from the backside.
How much cost
Link in the description for up to date prices.
so i guess it auto vs manual?
Has its use only for the elderly
I literally use this everyday.
What about cutting leather?
Absolutely. But I wouldn’t recommend for leather work. Unless for cutting larger pieces to separate.

This can cut materials up to 1/4 inch. So yes it’ll cut through leather as long as it’s thinner than that
This machine make my work easier i make cardboard piñatas
Cut carpet from bottom surface. Should not collect on tool.
Is this cut steel
No it doesn’t.
maybe milwakee will come out with a much better model

Too gimmicky for me.
Not a circular saw. It uses shearing which is a legit scissors.
