    Love this videooo!!!!! Been double-tracking vocals, guitars etc. in some of the stuff I'm doing at the moment and it's working wonders haha. Thanks for such an in-depth look at the process.

    Nice seeing this kind of thing from a musician’s perspective for a change and explaining decisions in a musical way. There’s so many production videos that are too much about numbers and rules and tricks and stuff and they sort of miss the point quite often I think.

      Yeah so true! I fully agree.. most of my decisions are coming from a creative perspective as opposed to an industry standard approach to mixing ahah ! Glad it’s helpful !

      Really good question! I’m pretty sure it’s an alctron mic but not 100% hey!

    Why are your faders so low? I’d like to know the reason :0

    • @thisnewlightmusic
      @thisnewlightmusic  7 месяцев назад +1

      hey @Ozus03! Ahh, I'm not 100% sure.. I'm normally keen to make sure there's no clipping in any tracks so maybe I just run them lower than normal? I use a lot of buses to group instruments, but yeah every instrument will be recorded in at different volumes and I guess I'm just trying to keep everything balanced as best as I can. Probably not a conscious thing :) I don't really see myself as a "producer" but just trying to grow in these skills ! How do you approach gain staging and faders etc?

    why do u have 2 camera angles

    • @thisnewlightmusic
      @thisnewlightmusic  8 месяцев назад +1

      Good question! I think I just wanted to do it so the long screen recording didn’t get boring.. also it’s hard to crop both the screen recording and me talking into the normal screen ratio without having heaps of black space ! Did it look alright?

    Did you play an actual banjo?

    • @thisnewlightmusic
      @thisnewlightmusic  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah I did! I only bought a banjo right at the end of the production process , but still snuck it in just in time!
