We've been getting teases for Hunt: Showdown's HUGE new engine update - which will come with a new map and "biome" - for over a year now. After a recent in-game event ended, does this little tease mean the update could be just around the corner? Me and my former Battlefield crew are ready!

Me and my cousin have a beautiful "Love, Hate" relationship with this underrated game. There's almost nothing wrong with it other than the occasional single Scrapbeak, or Assassin. Gunplay is simple yet complicated. The health system is probably my favorite in any game, honestly I'm supprised there isn't more people playing this game.

While I'm still hoping for the Battlefield series to get a W in the next release, I can't complain too much because that franchise's struggles got me to give this game a second try!
I love Southern Gothic and this period of firearms development, so Hunt should be a slam dunk for me - but I'm a pretty awful FPS player, especially extraction shooters. I booted it up a few times, did poorly each time, and resumed holding out hope for a better PvE mode.
I feel you - the PvP is exhilarating but there is just NO chill haha. Most of my weekday matches after a full day of work and living the Dad life end in me having the reaction time of a drunken 70 year old.
@@RangerDave Hunt isn't really one of those games where you need fast reflexes to get kills. If you position well and hold your shot until it's lined up, you can get kills like that! It's a game you can play at your own pace. You can also just stay away from hot areas and farm the map until you wanna start fighting. You can hide in a random corner for 10 minutes and no one will bother you lol. There's a lot of chill to be had in Hunt!
Hunt showdown is definitely one of my favorite games and the developers are truly great at their job. Me and my friends had a lot of fun playing this game.

Bullet grabber animations are always so clean. Love to see hunt getting some time in the light as it's often overlooked and although it doesn't have an overwhelming learning curve, the intensity often scares new players away before they get a feel for the game. Thank you for giving hunt some love! And looking forward to seeing you out in the bayou ❤ happy hunting.
I play on PS5 I can’t wait for the big update!!!!
been playing since early access in 2018, its always been an awesome game. Ill be seeing you new hunters in the bayou. 2 quick tips that will help you survive, never re-peek the same spot twice and always reposition.
Re-peeking in Hunt is basically my cardinal sin
@@RangerDave I still do it as a 5 and 6 star hunter, it's such a tough habit to break when you want that kill lol

Hunt isn’t good on console… very clunky controls, lagging and longer game match loading.

I would love to play this but the few times I have i've gotten melted by skilled players. May revisit it and truly make 2024 the year of Hunt Showdown.

There's ALWAYS room for more BF1! I don't see me uninstalling it until I'm the last player left. On the Hunt front, they've been making some tweaks to match-making and with the likely higher player counts after the next big update, I'd bet that would be a great time to dip your toes in again.
There are battlefield moments. Then there are Hunt moments. This game is very unique in a good way

Love this game, the only reason I upgraded to a PS5 was so I could play it after the nextgen update

I bought this game when it first came out . And nothing was going on
Keep an eye out for the engine update - that'll be a great time to give it a second try
I think the reason this game hasn't taken off as big as it should is because its not as fast paced and intense as something like Tarkov. I know Summit1G was playing this for awhile but he is now totally engrossed into Tarkov and has had some amazing kill streaks. I do miss the BFV videos though. I was hoping 2042 would take off and we would get some custom BFV maps with the custom editor of 2042. I know Karmakut was doing some stuff but it died off because you know people not wanting to play a buggy game.
It's funny because the slower pacing of the weapons and reloads is a big draw to me and strangely enough I get way more intensity out of Hunt than I do Tarkov (although that might be because most of my Tarkov experiences are getting into shenanigans with a big group)
@@RangerDave Dude large Tarkov groups are so nerve wracking for me but easy mode for the group. It's pretty intense when you are solo. Every noise is important, every angle is a potential ambush point. Everytime you loot you are in danger as no one is covering you. Scav jumps you and fires a few shots and now your position is given away for a 2-4 man group to ambush you. Surviving those ambushes usually requires me to take a break for awhile as my heart is POUNDING. Not really sure why Hunt didn't take off. It may be an aesthetic thing. Alot of people don't like Red Dead 2 because its the wild west and a bit too archaic for their tastes. So they go back to GTA even though Red Dead 2 has better technology. It would be neat to figure out why Hunt wasn't a smash hit. I'm the same way with fantasy games and prefer sci-fi over orcs and elves. One of my favorite Battlefields of all time is 2142. The VTOLs, the Mechs, the floating carriers, loved every bit just wish they had more and better maps. Its like a much easier Planetside game (Would LOVE to see you play Planetside lol). Would also like to see 2142 remade with an infinite warfare upgrade but I know it wont happen. I can still dream.
