      Yeah I have focused on lead playing too much, doing vocals with it isn't too bad, but my rhythm playing needs to get a bit tighter for the main riff, it's a somewhat difficult song, I don't think it'd be their most difficult though!

      I've commented this in other live videos of theirs, but I'm always on the fence in regards to Matt's vocals: On one side, I'm really happy that he was able to recover well after blowing his voice out and I'm glad he's gotten proper training, has proper technique and has actually found "his voice" now. But on the other side, damn, Matt's vocals were out of this world, especially during the Shogun + In Waves era. His screams were monstrous and his cleans were angelical, at least to my ears. I always feel bad for liking his "old voice" so much, because I know it literally almost ended his career, but I'm happy that he's healthy now. Anyways, it's only natural. At least I still have these older videos to reminisce and he's still putting out amazing music for us!

      metalstyler95 I don't even think Matt ever realized just how fucking good his screams were. For real, he has some of the best screams and growls I have ever heard from a metal band (especially one with the actual musical talent they have), and he is able to mix it with clean vocals. Not only that, he also plays rhythm AND leads whilst performing these fantastic vocals. In my opinion Matt is way more talented than his own damn idol (James Hetfield). James is a good musician for sure, but on a technical level, Matt blows him away in every category.

      The guy with the camera just let us all know how he doesn't know shit about Trivium by this simple detail, by not recording Paolo's performance, even when the bass doesn't sound

    • @DavidEitle

      NYRangers0623 Kirisute is the “Battery” of Shogun (it even uses the inverted power chords) and Scylla is its own thing with the instrumental break in the middle. They’re totally different and both are two of Trivium’s best tunes.

      e ||
      b ||
      this is e minor to d# minor (because this song is in e harmonic minor)
      this is not the same as a power chord inversion which would be a fourth not a minor third, this person is using the wrong term to refer to the right thing
      battery uses a minor third and a major third:
      d || 5 5 4 5
      a || 7 7 5 7

      this is e minor to d major (because this song is in e natural minor)
