Deepak Kumar, a physiotherapist can’t do what a doctor can and doctor can’t do what a physiotherapist can. We need both professions equally in order to provide quality care to patients. Also, to answer your question btw- A physiotherapist is actually a primary practitioner to manage stroke patients and getting their function back NOT a doctor. And of course, a physio won’t do a lung transplant- that would be a surgeons job. 😀
@@d.k7229, I get where you are coming from, even I didn't have much awareness about what physios do as there is not much/correct awareness about physiotherapy in our country but back to your (inaccurate) statement- A physiotherapist 'is' an allied health practitioner. Something that would be accurate to say would be that a physiotherapist is 'not' a medical practitioner (medical practitioners are the ones who have a degree in medicine). I think physio can be a doctor if they have a doctorate in physiotherapy or a Ph.D. Now, in many countries, physios are 'primary' healthcare practitioners meaning you go to a physio consultation straightaway before seeing a doctor and they can provide initial 'treatment' for many conditions and they can also provide a referral to see a specialist or a physician when a condition is not under their scope just like a physician would refer on to a physio if a condition is indicative of physiotherapy treatment instead. What I find fascinating about physiotherapy is that they can treat the 'root cause' of a pathology. I think you are right about the fact that in case of a stroke, initial treatment would be under the scope of a doctor and a physio would manage later in terms of rehabilitation but not to forget how important rehab (getting back to function) is after a stroke. So, physios do have a huge role. What's basic to understand is that while rehabilitation is a major part of physiotherapy management but this profession is really vast and is not 'just/only' about rehabilitation as physios not only are critical in providing initial treatment for many conditions but can also save people from actually having to go under the knife (for many conditions) with their preventive/ conservative management programs. I would proudly call myself a physio when I graduate so that the profession of physio gets credited for the skills I will project and people can become more aware. My intention behind the comment was to state some facts as you seemed quite uniformed and you are not the only one. It's actually quite under-rated in our country and I just wish to bring some awareness about it as the society really needs it especially in our country and that's what I was trying to do here as well but nevermind!

Entire gamut of physio covered in a nut shell. Explanation is very good. This has become a very important field to better the quality of life. A very good career for students. All areas of human anatomy, physiology and biochemistry etc. are covered as in MBBS. Perhaps, gynaec and surgery are not included in syllabus of BPT.

No Correspondence course. This is professional course. Need practical examination and Treatment techniques. You need to take admission and physical presence is necessary. For clinical Practice go fo for MPT Ortho and for Hospital service go for MPT Cardio.

But clinics and hospitals pay as low as 13-15k per month for freshers,even these days. And hectic work as work of physiotherapist requires manual work. If you spend 5 years of your life in getting bpt done with investment (course fee vary from 20k per year to 1.5lac per year) also, then after 5 years the return of income is very low. I don't recommend this course to anyone.

But clinics and hospitals pay as low as 13-15k per month for freshers,even these days.
And hectic work as work of physiotherapist requires manual work.
If you spend 5 years of your life in getting bpt done with investment (course fee vary from 20k per year to 1.5lac per year) also, then after 5 years the return of income is very low. I don't recommend this course to anyone.
