This show is seriously underrated. What I love about it is that it's not humanity's perspective of the supernatural, but their perspective of humanity. It doesn't simply use what they are to make them stand out as cool or sexy to get fangirls, but plays with the psychological and social ideas of what it would like to be a ghost, vampire or werewolf. It's about them dealing with depression, loneliness and temptation on a whole nother level that humans couldn't comprehend. That's golden drama!
I love the twilight reference Sally makes towards Aidan & Josh lol. Aidan is all like "wtf that's offensive" I love this show ! I wish the seasons didn't have to come each year ):
At least the American version has managed to keep their entire cast the past 4 seasons...AND it's slowly turned into it's own original storyline...justttt saying...I stopped watching the UK version when Mitchell checked out.
“We are like different countries in the same continent…yeah we are Africa” 😂 this show is so hilarious I miss it so much we deserved at least 2 more seasons 😭
This feels like a comedy...the british version (that i love) is super dark (and awesome). But this isn't so bad. Like EsmaelMajedi said they're for different audiences...just like the office.
Ah, I love it. The actors have great chemistry, and it's now on my set schedule to watch. I just treat it like any other remake, completely unrelated. "Oh my god, that's beautiful. Really. We're Africa!"
Reading all these older comments makes me a little sad. This goes for anything not just this show, I think people should just stick to the version they enjoy and not fight over what's better. It's a pointless argument because you will never win, you cant force someone to like something, we all have different preferences, it's silly.
It depends on where you're from. The UK has a different style, and America has a different style. This version is designed to appeal to an American audience. I also know some Americans who like the UK version better. Everyone has different tastes, so this version isn't awful, it's just in a style you don't care for.
I enjoyed both the US and UK versions of Being Human for different reasons. With the US version, I appreciated that the core characters of Aidan, Josh, Sally, and Nora were present throughout the entire series run. I found it satisfying to see each of the couples ultimately find their happy endings - Aidan and Sally discovered true love and mutual understanding, while Josh and Nora achieved inner peace as werewolves and started a family, all while honoring their friendship with Aidan and Sally. As for the UK original, I liked that, despite all of the main characters Annie, Mitchell, George and Nina meeting their demise, they were reunited after Annie's story reached its conclusion. It felt like their individual stories came full circle and that their ultimate happy ending was being together for eternity. The different approaches each country's version took provided compelling viewing experiences in their own ways.
I can honestly say that I completely love this show. I have seen the 3 seasons, and I am eager for the next. It is probably one of my favorite shows I have seen. If the UK is supposedly better, then it must be godlike.
I don't care what people think of the u.s version I'm going to watch every single episode of it. I'm from America so the British version is extremely hard for me to understand but believe me i give respect to the original and if it was to ever stop production I'll switch to the original but until then I'm staying with this version
I think its ridiculous that British shows have to be remade especially for an American audience, The Office is a classic it should have been left alone and Being Human is exactly the same script as the uk version from what i saw of a couple of the US episodes. We watch 24, Blacklist, Supernatural, Grimm and so many others but we watch them in original form, we arent scratching ours heads wondering what the hell is going on and we get the humour, we don't have to have them especially remade for uk audiences. I don't want to cause any offence here as it's just a general observations.
I'm from the UK and American supernatural shows are just as good as UK ones but being human has to top it all. I absolutely love Grimm, I love being human and I like supernatural but I haven't watched enough to get into it. I'll be sad when Grimm ends. I'm running out of shows to watch since Teen Wolf is on its last season. :(
Which is my point, it completely defies the whole humour behind Being Human, the fact that Americans don't get irony or don't understand the jokes involved isn't our problem, we manage perfectly well watching American shows that haven't been changed and they're still funny. It's the lack of originality particularly in dramas that strikes me.
the first video camera was made by a Scottish man based on a german invention and the first photographic camera was german or french i think, i am not going to hate on the american version but you cant deny alot of british shows have been remade over their: american idol, Americas got talent, xfactor, sherlock, being human, life on mars, the inbetweeners, dancing with the stars, top gear, who wants to be a millionaire. once again im not hating just correcting you
Plus, they're not trying to replace it. The change the plot completely after season one (while also changing sevel key moments in season from from the BBC version to surprise the audience). BBC is Deeper, where it has more emotion; more yelling, more laughing, more crying. The US has more Depth in its story and universe. The rules for the supernatural make sense (ghosts can't touch or be seen). Plus, there's a straight story arc, while the BBC felt very random with where its story was going.
The writers of this show HAVE NOT SEEN THE SECOND SEASON OF THE UK SERIES!!! Everything about the script of this show changes, especially after season 1 which is all the writers' own ideas.
I feel like those who are calling this horrible are just biased. I've never watched the UK version, not because "I'm ignorant or just american" but because I had never heard of it until very recently. I'll probably watch it soon as I like UK series (Misfits is my fav). Being Human US is far from perfect, but it's not terrible. I enjoy it.
the first couple episodes are rough, but if you keep with it you'll see that it's same premise and basic characters problems, but a more or less different story. idk, i cringed at first too, but the moment they changed things up was the moment it became interesting.
finally someone who isnt one sided about this. im all caught up to the american and in the middle of the 2nd series of the uk and their both great in their own rights though i like the american more but admit the uk is written better. theres no reason to hate on the american version. you know what it is, we've seen the remakes to great uk shows like skins, inbetweeners, top gear and the immiediate assumption is this will suck too but it doesnt
@thetrueparadisecity Hey but if the UK version is the best tell me why does it struggle to get 1 million views. The new season of the UK vers barely gets 800,000 views.
The UK version was created to suit the UK viewers, the US version was created to suit the US viewers and the humour is completely different. It's near impossible to comapre them because they're made for differet auidences.
@TimelordsandragonsCo Unfortunately, it's too late. They're remaking Sherlock. Jonny Lee Miller will be playing Sherlock Holmes in a modern adaptation on CBS, I think... I read it in an article a few weeks back. Jeez, I wonder where they got the idea?
Is this worth sticking with? I love the original UK version, but this clip kinda felt like a cartoon version of that one. Does it get any better or is this the tone throughout?
I don't understand why the American media moguls feel the need to remake everything. The American people is far more open-minded than they think. They said Harry Potter would never work with an entirely British cast and look how wrong they were.
Before you watch this and decide that maybe you like it PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at the guys in the British version they created these characters and they do it in a Very different way. Watch them both before you make your mind up. Personally I prefer the UK version.
@EBOWARRIOR The first episode was purposely a clone of the original, I don't know if you've watched any of this show, but the US storyline is not a copy of the UK one. The UK version had poor production quality, mitchell is too feminine, and the lack of back-story for the werewolf was blatantly lacking. I do love the UK version, but I do like the US version. Both have faults, but if you actually watch more than the first episode you can find that both shows have different strengths.
@rssecretz It's not a rip-off, it's a remake. O_o And the UK one probably is better, but I don't know because I haven't seen it, i'm just saying i've watched what's out of the US one and I like it. All i'm saying. I don't mind if other people prefer the UK one.
@NillaVision I agree, our countries are similar and different at the same time. American audiences and British audiences just have very different tastes when it comes to entertainment most the time. I have no idea why, but we do. Contrary to your opinion, I tried the British version of this show and just did not find any enjoyment out of it, I just did not care much for the characters or actors. hmm, this is a really interesting topic though
this isn't too bad a adaptation. I mean, I don't see why one needs to be made, we watch friends and the simpsons. But why have annie mitchell and georges names been changed :'(
@Fajjani My personal opinion is that for the few episodes, Sam Witwer and Meaghan Rath do not capture the essence of Mitchell/Aidan and Sally/Annie. In comparing the UK version with the US, one definitely notices a lack of darkness and depth to these characters. But then, even if one does not compare the two, after watching just the first few episodes, I lost interest. Witwer and Rath are just not engaging enough.
@NillaVision Because we wanted to remake it in a way that would appeal better to American audiences. I, personally, like the American version better. I wasn't a fan of most of the characters in the BBC version.
The concept is still good but the execution's lacking. It's like the writers have just got the study notes for the original and given the actors the bullet points. Hope it settles in after an EP or two.
Whether or not it's better or worse than the BBC version, it's still a pretty good show. The plot is interesting, the law is solid, there are twists and turns, they base their episodes on philosophical and moral issues, etc.
No it’s not, there’s a much better version already with the same themes
i love how aidan is all 'she's a ghost' and josh thinks he's playing. the look on josh's face when she disipates is great lololol
josh is such a dip sometimes
I love how sally got that last word in. Go Sally!
"I wanna be normal, but can't, 'cause I wanna eat people, etc."
🤣🤣🤣
I love how Josh grabs a spatula! 🤣
Why did they have to take this off of Netflix 😭
Ikr
This was on Netflix?
This was on Netflix???
Yep, I watched it a few years back.
I love the twilight reference Sally makes towards Aidan & Josh lol. Aidan is all like "wtf that's offensive" I love this show ! I wish the seasons didn't have to come each year ):
yeah thats most likely because of the effects and the postediting when they use supernatural powers. it takes time to make the show.
Who would’ve thought Doomsday and Jimmy Olsen would be living in the same apartment together.
Some one is in the house and he gets a strainer...
I miss them
Kelsey Matthews
Hi Cas!😊
Josh is perpetually on the verge of hyperventilating, lol.
Way better than the uk version
At least the American version has managed to keep their entire cast the past 4 seasons...AND it's slowly turned into it's own original storyline...justttt saying...I stopped watching the UK version when Mitchell checked out.
i just finished the episode Mitchell dies, talk about ruining the mood, I think im going to stick with the U.S version :'(
dude for sure, I like this version way better!
I know!!!!!!!! John, and george, and lasty nina I gave up after nina was dead and george was deadish takeing care of the baby
Well you missed out, US version looks so shit
10 k Bollocks
look it's Starkiller!
And maul!
I have a lot of feelings in heart for this series , also for Uk version ! :) Love is stronger than anything !
3:55 still my favorite line in a supernatural show :)
Sarcastic vampire, Neurotic werewolf and Over-enthusiastic ghost. Perfect combo
Whoever created this show was genius. Now I have to go watch it all over again ❤
10 years later And it still good!
“We are like different countries in the same continent…yeah we are Africa” 😂 this show is so hilarious I miss it so much we deserved at least 2 more seasons 😭
I can't believe they actually went with the Twilight reference. Way to stoop to my already bottom-feeding expectations.
Awh how cute she even has like similar clothes to Annie xD
This feels like a comedy...the british version (that i love) is super dark (and awesome). But this isn't so bad. Like EsmaelMajedi said they're for different audiences...just like the office.
I don't know what it is but I prefer this one over the UK version, I guess even though I am British I prefer American stuff
American Charm is irresistible.
I agree on that plus I love the guy who plays Aiden, he does great voice acting, plus really good looking that I am jealous of him
I MISS THIS SHOW SO MUCH
Ah, I love it. The actors have great chemistry, and it's now on my set schedule to watch. I just treat it like any other remake, completely unrelated.
"Oh my god, that's beautiful. Really. We're Africa!"
They meet Sally the 'Ghost' And the ad for Ghost hunters come up...IRONIC
You know they show ads related to the video ...
Remake, this great series. Even the British version is great
All the best

Anyway you could put out more episodes of Being Human? I would love to watch the whole story.😊

I'm a fan of the show whojust wanted to remember how fun the pilot was, and out ouf nowhere ist like WWIII in the comment section... O_O

I actilually love this ive seen it lke 6 times full seasonsa
You make an excellent point. You, sir or madame, are awesome.
I love how the top comments are completely opposite of each other
I love being human us

The only american remake that is good
eatnbytheworms wait so u don’t even think The Office is good at all???
Plus, they're not trying to replace it. The change the plot completely after season one (while also changing sevel key moments in season from from the BBC version to surprise the audience).

@IROIB8D it is...the character is based on his likeness
Thats the charm of every british show. I personally like the US version better. Its stories are better.

Before Darth Maul was resurrected
i think i'm really gonna like this, mostly cause i think josh is adorable tho ;)
I want to say like that show seen it all the time though.

@Aukya Yeah I know but they didn't take it over, it was only temporary
wowgreat come bac, it's the internet hunny

@TimelordsandragonsCo Didn't they just announce a re-make of Dr. Who in the US? lol..
Why does the vampire fellow look like Edward Cullen?!
finally someone who isnt one sided about this. im all caught up to the american and in the middle of the 2nd series of the uk and their both great in their own rights though i like the american more but admit the uk is written better. theres no reason to hate on the american version. you know what it is, we've seen the remakes to great uk shows like skins, inbetweeners, top gear and the immiediate assumption is this will suck too but it doesnt
@a7xrockchick92 its in the distription
@Fajjani why would i comment on their acting if I didn't watch this version?
@thetrueparadisecity
Hey but if the UK version is the best tell me why does it struggle to get 1 million views. The new season of the UK vers barely gets 800,000 views.
The US version only has one redeeming feature, the SFX.
Everything that makes a show worth watching...british version wins hands down.
wow, i heard that there was a US series.. but holy crap they didnt need to go so far as to put the ghost in ANNIES clothes
The UK version was created to suit the UK viewers, the US version was created to suit the US viewers and the humour is completely different. It's near impossible to comapre them because they're made for differet auidences.
I just discovered this show and I like it. I do not get why people always say UK is all that but whatever the US is not that bad either.
Yes, I heard! Thank you for letting me know anyway. I can't wait. =)
well he certainatly isnt aidan turner
Unlike a lot of you people, I happen to like this show. And I hope it goes for at least 3 seasons.
@runswithlolwolves
they did but it was never aired but find bits and pieces around the web or youtube but it has a different actor playing the ghost
lol the chick from freaky friday :P
3rd season has been confirmed!
Is this worth sticking with? I love the original UK version, but this clip kinda felt like a cartoon version of that one. Does it get any better or is this the tone throughout?
I hope twilight get mention in the UK version
OMG they should do an episode in the British one how they meet annie :P :D
I don't understand why the American media moguls feel the need to remake everything. The American people is far more open-minded than they think. They said Harry Potter would never work with an entirely British cast and look how wrong they were.

i like this version. like if you agree
It's not too terrible, but it's not the UK version by any means.
i dont know. maybe i give it a shot.
that werewolf guy is trying to hard to be like George from the uk version
which song is playing in the background at the beginning?
@TimelordsandragonsCo they already did doctor who
p.s america don't you dare try remake doctor who, torchwood or sherlock!!!
Meaghan Rath is in this?! now i definitely gotta start watching it. just fell completely in love w her on New Girl & Banshee.
@NillaVision I agree, our countries are similar and different at the same time. American audiences and British audiences just have very different tastes when it comes to entertainment most the time. Contrary to your opinion, I tried the British version of this show and just did not find any enjoyment out of it, I just did not care much for the characters or actors. hmm, this is a really interesting topic though
The Brit version is far superior, omfg this is a travesty of the original. Thumbs up if you agree.
JOSH! SALLY! what on earth was wrong with GEORGE and ANNIE??
Where can I see all the episodes?
the show is still good regardless...i haven't missed an episode....and I wouldn't mind watching the BBC version
Wow that was bad. I feel bad now.
this isn't too bad a adaptation. I mean, I don't see why one needs to be made, we watch friends and the simpsons. But why have annie mitchell and georges names been changed :'(

Doesn't have the charm of the UK version. It's pish if I'm brutally honest, proving ONCE AGAIN that the original is almost always the best.
I would recommend to watch the BBC one ,
The concept is still good but the execution's lacking. It's like the writers have just got the study notes for the original and given the actors the bullet points. Hope it settles in after an EP or two.
Whether or not it's better or worse than the BBC version, it's still a pretty good show.
