It just dawned on me that she actually said ‘heart shaped bruise’ instead of ‘heart shaped cruise’ because I genuinely thought in my head at the time ‘wtf is a heart shaped cruise’ 🚢
I can understand why you might have misheard that. It reminds me of an act I saw once on a ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. And absolutely crying out for some plastic trumpets, yes :)
It just needs a Becky Hill feature and we’re 100% there 😂 Also the thought of landing in a Jet2 plane with Jess Glynn music playing 😵💫 I’d rather swim to my destination
I'm not sure if you know about the whole fuss with the Icelandic NF, but this winning over the one song everyone was sure would win (Bashar Murad's "Wild West") is perhaps THE funniest result of the year. As for Hera - well, luckily for her, she need not fear a high position in my final ranking.
In my opinion, this song was just thrown up there in the line-up to make up the numbers for Söngvakeppnin that had an obvious winner but also had to attract some tv audience for a local star. And then the dreaded 2 song Superfinal format happened where people basically voted against rather than for a song.
She sang "I am scared of hight,s" and she really did look scared when on the 4 step platform, this has to be favourite to come last if they decide to show up.
I would not be surprised if this ends up actually borderline, you know, too many mums and normies watching may pick this. It doesn't have James Newman plastic trumpets to turn people off.
I agree with you, I have no desire to listen to this song again, probably because I feel like I've already heard it 1000 times as other songs. Looking forward to Australia... been waiting for someone to explain to me wtf they were thinking with that video.
@@turtel65 It had to be a creative choice. I can't believe budget concerns had anything to do with it, but even if it did, it wouldn't have cost any extra money to lip-sync the song.
When you get the chance you should listen to the song that got second place, Wild West by Bashar Murad. It seems like the type of song you'd appreciate musically.
I was just about to write ‘Out of the Embers’ as I was watching! Less trumpety is better, but blimey its not good enough is it? Is this the Iceland that sent Dadi Freyr? Must research the state of Iceland’s economy 🤔 x
I'm always the one against the stem... I love this hahahaha And I'm not a middle age mom. It would fail or not, but I like Hera Björk performing, and she will always have something James Newman never have, charisma and great vocals live.
They'll be lucky to have 5pts. Malta last year inspite of being kinda favorite of others and mostly mid of everyone. Only got 3pts and only from rest of the world. So this to have 5pts will be very lucky in that part.
Each to their own. Personally I found it the dullest song in their selection this year. Might be a genre thing. 🤷♂️ I would ideally have gone for Sigga or Blankifur but I’ll settle for Hera even though this isn’t her best song.
@@Leifdk1 I was referring if I had to choose between the last two from the superfinal, Bashar, but if I have to choose from all of them, Sigga. GO TIFFANY, I liked the Icelandic version more, I preferred the Icelandic language for almost all of them.
@@keldeori3059 I see. Well, I meant out of ALL the songs. And therefore obviously also in the final. But like I said, we all have different tastes and that is fine. Sometimes your favorite does well or even wins… sometimes it does not. With Bashar… I’m just not feeling it. It’s a fine enough song, I really have no strong feelings on it one way or another. And so, it’s a pass for me. Have fun listening to it though! 🙃
Amongst other issues I have with this song, I think the melody in the verses is oddly bad in the sense that I almost can't figure out what it is at parts.
I didn't even hear the piano in this song until you mentioned it lol. 😂 Unfortunately I agree with your observations regarding the Icelandic entry. That's not good and dated.
I would prefer to loathe this, as it is I just can't feel anything when listening to this except boredom. The only reason I even notice it when it's playing is because I get caught of guard when "Baby I'm sorry" isn't followed by "I'm not sorry"
Oh dear Iceland. This would have done OK in 1998, but Eurovision's moved on since those days. At least we can put money on one of the NQs in their semi. I heard Embers straight away too, and we all know how well THAT did. One day, Rachel, you're going to just come out and say, "God this is shit", during a song 🙂
The song’s not really doing it for me which is a shame because I loved her entry in 2010 and thought it was underrated in Oslo but at least we will be seeing Iceland at this year’s contest in Malmo 🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸
I do not mean to be disrespectful, but this is what you would call an album filler. There is nothing wrong with the song, but it is so bland that it makes mayonnaise look spicy! No need for Reykavik to budget for Eurovision hosting duties in 2025! This will get so lost in the crowd, ........................, no I will not finish that thought.
The jet2 comparisons always make me laugh because it really is embedded in every brit's mind. It's exactly what i thought too and ive seen it so much from other British eurofans lmao This is the worst song by a mile for me. We'd have no truly bad songs this year if it wasn't for this. House but with no energy at all.
The verses are a little dull to be fair - but the chorus eventually drew me in a little anyway. To me at least this is not as bad as people like to claim, at least in the studio version. But then I did like Embers… just not the terrible live performance of it.
It's really a pity to see an accomplished singer with lots of experience performing an entry like this. If it were ugly, it would be better. Like this, it is just forgettable.
It isn't highly regarded and it is very boring in terms of other music in the contest. A '4' is much lower than i expected from you for this one, but I understand. They should have sent something else.
It just dawned on me that she actually said ‘heart shaped bruise’ instead of ‘heart shaped cruise’ because I genuinely thought in my head at the time ‘wtf is a heart shaped cruise’ 🚢
