- Co-driver Scott Martin found himself relying on his mobile phone to relay pace notes to Elfyn Evans after misplacing his physical notebook on Friday afternoon at Vodafone Rally de Portugal.
Panic ensued between the British duo just before the second running of Góis 2 when Martin discovered that his pace note book, containing crucial details of every twist and turn of the stage, had gone astray.
With no time to spare, Martin ingeniously resorted to using his mobile phone to access a digital copy of the notes. However, the bad luck continued for the pair as their Toyota GR Yaris sustained front-right tyre damage during the stage, costing almost one minute.

Think of Ott and Raigo fell into lake in 2015. Raigo had to rescue and dry the pace note with a hair dryer. Keeping a digital back up does come into handy!
Scott is very very humble and nice man. Always speakimg to reporters and never pushimg them away. What a big heart he hs and at the same time so professional!! Top guy!

In 2024 you'd think they would have moved to a tablets..
Nope, that's just something else to go wrong.
Then you get into a crash or don't hold on to it tight enough and whoops... You just lost $400.
