Found your video and finally got the courage to cut up the yucca I got from my parents years ago. It was a split stem that grew to about 2 meters high, so it wasn't really a nice sight to behold. I wasn't aware of the things one could do with a yucca. After seeing your video's I cut off the 2 tops, cut the rest into smaller stems and got 2 new plants, 8 stems and a few 'pups' growing now.
Thanks for your tips! They really gave me a feeling of having a green thumb.

Hey, I cut up one of my yuccas a month ago. Planted the tops directly into soil and they have rooted beautifully already! The stems that I cut into pieces and put into water have all rotted though... do you have any tips? You have such beautiful results 😃 They were not as „woody“ yet as the stems you had, they were only like 1.5cm thick. Maybe that‘s why it didn‘t work...?

I though you needed to let them dry out and calcify first like a succulent b 4 planting them or growing leaves

I have had good luck just sticking a pup in the dirt and watering it - do you think that’d work with stalks like this? Or should I use water?

    • @philatv

Sure you can put them right In the dirt and try to keep them wet.
I live in southern California and sometimes it's too hot to start them in dirt
