      Unfortunately they're useless for me, I can't mount the bike with the bar you showed on that bike, and the "low bar" bike they have would be dangerous for me to pedal.
      I have a knee injury that's permanent.

    Wonderful---I've watched all your videos multiple times--thanks for all your information-we've planted fruit trees etc because of you!! (I would prefer to hear the natural sounds while you are biking and not the music--personal preference)

      Totally agree with you on the music. This one was styled to appeal to a wider audience. I'm 100% with you on that one though.

    The hiboy looks slick, I like it! I've got a humungous longtail cargo e-bike with burley trailer that's my "minivan" grocery & kid hauler. It's so much more fun riding around in fresh air and waving to neighbors than being cooped up in a car!

    We purchased pedal-assisted E-Bikes this Fall. We are very happy with them but the Hiboy looks excellent in this video. I was astounded at the excellent prices for them!

    Oh I love e-bikes!!! I bought mine in 2012/13. My son was just a little guy then, so I bought a chariot to tow behind it! I’m telling you, the electric bike has been my favorite recreational purchase! Having it gives me the confidence to ride farther away from home than I would otherwise feel comfortable going. I know that I will have assist on my way home if I need it! In recent years I have been towing my grandchildren around in the chariot! I actually got my partner a matching bike and bought a second chariot, so that all of the grandkids can ride with us! It’s such a joy!

    That's a great bike 👍🏼 For me a bike with a luggage rack would be more suitable because when I go to the allotment by bike I always carry a lot of stuff 🌱🎋🌱with me.

    Not related, but:
    I planted Jerusalem artichoke in a strip and I divided it into four sections in which I sowed 4 different companion plants. In one I sowed dwarf peas of the type that in theory should support itself without trellises, in one climbing peas hoping they will use the JA as trellis, in another dwarf beans and lastly climbing beans. I am very curious to see the results and I will give updates 🖖

      Cool! JAs are heavy feeders, so combining them with nitrogen fixers is a great idea. When the peas are done, make sure you return all the old plant material back on top of the soil to return those nutrients back.

    Its a good bike . I ve switched the brakes for hydraulic brakes and its 2000% better with hydraulic . Its amazing in the summer , rain is ok if you dont mind coz there is no mudguards, in the snow its great as long as there is no ice under it and just dont try to go on ice its not working . Best bike you can get for the price and it looks cool too . Turn it off before you get off of it ,if you turn the throttle by accident you may not get hurt but you ll look stupid for a short moment 😅

    Very groovy. Nice having a little Canada tour at the same time. What's the battery made out of? There has been some lithium flare scares in Austland which has spooked me a bit. Does cold affect the battery?

    There are things I would like to see in Ebikes that I never see advertised or are hard to find answers to. For example, I want to know if the battery can be charged directly with a solar panel or is there a way to charge the battery as I am pedaling. I've considered a conversion kit for my current bike but I havent bit the bullet yet. Thanks for this review, it gives me a better idea of what to look for.

    • @CanadianPermacultureLegacy
      @CanadianPermacultureLegacy  4 месяца назад +1

      I don't believe the bike can work in generator mode. I suppose there will be some future gen bikes with things like regenerative braking and generator mode. As far as charging the battery, it would be possible using solar, because the battery is DC, however you would need to design your own system, using a charge controller. Alternatively, you can search my channel for the Aferiy power pack video, and use something like that, since it has a built-in charge controller and inverter/rectifier. If you don't use something like that, you may want to do some research on how much power you can push at a time, and also the dangers of over-charging it. These things are fairly easy to find on google.

    Great that you have their other products for reference as well- do you know if this company is good for parts outside any warrenty period?

    • @CanadianPermacultureLegacy
      @CanadianPermacultureLegacy  4 месяца назад +1

      I don't personally have any experience in that myself. Our oldest items of theirs is the scooters, and they are about 6 years old and never have had any problem, so I'm not sure.

      @@CanadianPermacultureLegacy wow six years is awesome, probably more luck than standard, but suggest the standard is likely well past 1 yr warranty. Thanks for the reply.

    How does it handle the wet, i.e. can you ride it in heavy rain, through deep puddles, get it splashed often, etc.? Thx.

    • @CanadianPermacultureLegacy

      oh yeah it's very rugged, and the battery is protected. I've had it out in slush and snow and it's been great.

    • @PaleGhost69

      Their website says "waterproof battery" and "splash resistant design" so I assume it's good unless you try pushing through puddles. I wouldn't leave it out in the rain either.

    Maybe just fix up an old bike to "reduce carbon." 👍❤️👍
