Wow. I recorded this specific recording in Calcutta in either December 1979 or January 1980 during my first trip there. I still have the original cassette tape with that little squiggle at the start. My teacher ws Dr. Peter Row. His teacher was Gokul Nag. Manilal is his son. I took lessons from Gokul Nag while there, thanks to my teacher arranging them. I recorded many live performances like this with my little cassette recorder and posted them on Mediashare and similar internet venues. I am amazed how many of them made there way to Youtuibe without even a nod to the original source. (Hi Nick P!). Anyway, I am really glad folks enjoy this!

    विलासखानी तोडी पंडित जी के वादन से धन्य हो गया।राग जीवंत हो गया।प्रत्येक क्षण इस राग की आध्यात्मिकता और विशालता अनुभव की जा सकती है।

It is Vilaskhani/Bilaskhani Todi, not "Vilakshani" Todi
