After much thought and considering features, power, lift capacity, price and yanmar quality I have purchased the ym342,plus they actually had one in stock. Should be getting in a week or so as they have to add 3rd function for a grapple. My question, request is this...Can I get a soft copy or hard copy of the parts diagrams for this ym342? Also, does yanmar offer to purchase service manuals as they must have them for the dealer service shops?
Hi, I am considering buying a YM342. I have searched just about everywhere on Yanmar and other sites looking for parts diagrams and an operator manual. I cannot find anything other than to contact your Yanmar Dealer. The question is does Yanmar have online access like Kubota and John Deere? If so where are they found? THX
To clarify, you DO need to engage the clutch to move forward and back by using the lever on the column? This application doesn't seem good for loader work then.
It is not required to stop before shifting the reverser lever, only to slow down. When moving into a pile the clutch can be pressed and direction changed.
Great tractor, just two things I would change. Ditch the plastic instrument Bezel for a metal one like the orange tractor has. We'll see how long it lasts in the Texas sun. And i wish there were gauges instead of idiot lights, I guess it's an old guy thing with me, I can see the hydrostatic guys not caring about the lack of gauges.
Is the PTO lever up for one and a down for two or up for Lowe in down for high?

Hi @spyroxy12, we do not have online parts diagrams or online operator manuals. Currently they can be obtained from their local dealer. Hope it helps!
Thats to bad because of the distance of the dealership wouldnt make much sense to invest in this brand.

How do you run the PTO when not on the tractor I just got a wood chipper for my ym347
Hi Robert! Reverser lever must be in neutral and the parking brake set. Start the tractor and then turn on the PTO. Hope it helps.
Good point
Wood chipper @skinnymoose
Re: PTO SELECTION LEVER. It is not clear in manual which position (up or down) is the 540, and which is the 540E.
