Mate, your review is great. But preview on RUclips looks like HowTo form official product webpage. Thus I was reluctant to watch it even I had not so many options. I guess it might be a reason why this video is not very popular, although it is great. And many people like to see the reviewer as well - it is more natural )))
Not a big fan of the huge branding! Screams steal me I am expensive! That ear testing tech sounds interesting! Wonder if it actually brings something to the table for those with single-sided hearing loss? Keep up the great work mate cheers… Keith
It's not the most subtle branding in the world, that's true! Yes I must admit, there will be thousands, if not millions, out there who'd find this feature useful. Headphones generally don't do much to cater for more than the average listener. Features like this separate the Lagoon ANC from the rest, so hats off to them for making them more accessible (although perhaps not so much at this price!) Thanks a lot for watching again Keith!
May I ask if you now still think that this are one of the best wireless headphones out there? I am looking at the Shure Aonic 50 and the not yet released Drop C Panda. Don’t know what to do. As today is Black Friday in Germany. Please help?
Your narration is ace! Thanks for covering these, I hadn’t heard of these until today so I wanted to hear what reviewers thought of them. I have the WH1000xm3’s for work but I was looking for a second pair for home wear. These seem like excellent headphones for Android, but since I just switched to iOS I might have to pass given the delay in audio. Have you compared these to the Amiron Wireless? I realize the price disparity but I wonder how much better or worse the Amiron Wireless are. Thanks again for the high quality review!
Favorite ANC HeadPhones: Sennheiser M3. The Sonys are horrible audio. Your statement that more accurate headphones are not worth $50 more is ridiculous. How does the Lagoon compare with Sennheiser M3?
@@henkiepda Hola!! I completely understand, and if this was possible I really would do it! Unfortunately, even if I recorded through decent microphones, this would still change the sound produced by the headphones, it would then be compressed and altered with my recording software, then again by RUclips and then finally through your (different) headphones on your side. The net result is that the sound is completely different from the actual, true sound (I might as well just record any random headphones and you might not know the difference). I understand you want to know how they sound, but there's just no way to do this over RUclips. I'm sorry!
Cracky headband spoils all effect of ANC. It is cracking and clicking even on the movement of your head, even they are pretty squashing, so they will sound like a plastic bucket when you will touch it and even scratch your head. If you have some problem with hearing causing to you bad side to side balance they not gonna help - you will get kind of average profile for both ears, so you will have to workaround somehow. And they are very shallow - my ears are not very big but they touch the fabric inside. Hear is no Ambient/Social mode and you will not hear your voice properly on a phone call. ANC hiss in standby mode is really noticeable. Other stuff works as expected and sounds good. But all those flaws make the Lagoons pretty overpriced.
Oh no! I didn't experience the headband cracking but I can understand how that would spoil ANC. I agree they were pretty expensive at launch price so hopefully they'll come down a bit in price!
TLDW: To save you some time, the reviewer does not do any ANC or call quality tests in a noisy environment or discuss long term comfort. Spend your 14 minutes on another review, and thank me later.
To that i'd say that I have actually tested both ANC and call quality and I give my thoughts on both in this video (including a real sample of the microphones). I'd also say that over 94% of people liked and found this review in some way helpful, so perhaps give it a watch before deciding! I appreciate the input though!
These are complete garbage. I bought a pair 5 weeks ago when my Sennheiser Magnolias broke. The sound is mediocre at best. The ANC doesn't do much beyond drain the battery. The are *VERY* uncomfortable and after an hour my ears hurt. I have long hair and somehow it brushes to the touch controls and constantly turns the sound off/skips a track (ok, like maybe 3-4 times a day). They actually feel fairly cheap compared to other headphones I've owned (I've owned a lot, Bluetooth, wired - professional studio monitors and 18 dollar Amazon headphones - probably 30 headphones at this point). The audio quality is *not* among the best on the market. I have no idea what he is talking about. A 100 dollar pair of Skull Candy Crushers sound absolutely undeniably better. The absolute worst problem with these headphones is that the plastic joints constantly creek (LIKE CONSTANTLY). I've probably heard 30 creeks from the plastic rubbing while watching this 8 minute video. The ANC mildly reduces the obnoxiousness of this but its still a problem. I filled out a return form for Amazon but never actually had the time to run them to the Amazon distribution center. I'll be replacing these pretty soon. They are absolutely horrible. If these were 100 dollars I would still warn people away from them. The *ONLY* redeeming property is the APTX Low Latency, which I require as I use my wireless headphones on the desktop and I either need to us RF headphones (like my Sennheiser's) or ATPX LL bluetooth. As soon as I get my replacement Magnolias from Sennheiser I can't imagine that I will ever use these again.
Being 'among the best on the market' does not mean that no others sound better. I can also name others that sound better. But just because these are not the 'best' does not mean they don't deserve recognition for sounding good. If you opinion differs, that's fine! That's why there are many different reviews with different viewpoints.
@@insidetechltd These are the only headphones that I've ever owned that creak ever 10+ times a minute at a volume approximating 75db. It is completely absurd to quantify this totally broken, mediocre sounding, uncomfortable and 500% overpriced product as "Among the best on the market" when *literally* every 60 dollar pair of blue tooth headphones on Amazon is superior by almost every metric.
If that's your experience then fair enough. But it isn't mine at all. There's nothing absurd whatsoever about how i've documented my own experience and opinion on these headphones.
@@tdmducmainly because of the possibility to set up the sound with the app (for both ears). Then aptx. I've tested both for a couple of days, the Lagoon sounds better. Even with a tighter frequency range. Why do you think the XM4 is the better one?
Sound is quite good, but build quality is crap. These phones feel like they should cost $50. Realy, realy cheap feeling. Even when you're walking, you can hear the plastic cracking.
@@insidetechltd I'm selling mine after a week for A$250 and fell no one would be willing to pay that much. Do you realy believe their build can be compared to the likes of similarly priced B&W, B&O or Sennheisers?
Hmm, I guess maybe I could put those 3 in a category up from these - you've named 3 of the market leaders really. But I didn't think the plastic was cracking with mine
@@insidetechltd Lucky you :) Try walking around with them. To be honest, my daughter's $40 Sol Republic feels better built than the Lagoons. You said it yourself, the 3 I mentioned are in a different category and yet their street price are about the same. I can't say anything about the PX7s as I never heard them and I don't like the Sennheiser's sound very much. For my years, the Lagoons sound fine, but are no mach for the BOs. I realy whanted to like these phones, but I just can't. The only reason I sold my H9i is because it hurt my outer ears in long sessions. I have high hopes BO fixed the ergonomics on the new HX. How does the Lagoon compare with Sennheiser M3?
When I bought it I was afraid because I thought the leather part was ripped and I see that's the design of earpads
Me too. Haha.
Are they worth 300€? because they are on sale now
I still think that's quite expensive. Today you can likely get better headphones for cheaper than that, like Sony's WH1000XM3
in germany the lagoon is only 300€ ... on sale you can get it for 200 ... the sony is 380€
Good price on sale!
Crikey. That's costly and I don't like that y logo over them.
You're not alone there! I think that there's a lot to learn from with this release, and dropping that price down would be a good start!
