Excellent video. Brings back wonderful childhood memories of watching the Sons in the 70s and 80s. Thank you and would appreciate if you posted any more old pictures👍

Enjoyed finding out about Boghead. Haven’t visited Dumbarton before but would like to see a game at the rock. Definitely a better name than Dumbarton Football Stadium 💤

my gran and granpa and family were all involved in the cub, i even used to ball boy and so did my brother back in the day, my dad was a steward and my mum sold raffle tickets for the supporters club.. my grandparents were involved with the club more because it was their thing back in the day, there was a michael keaton and robert duvall movie filmed there in like 99 or 2000 called a shot at glory, when you watch that movie its full of nostalgia for sons fans,, dumbarton fans are called sons fans cos were sons of the rock referring to dumbarton castle being build on a massive piece of rock, i could give you loads of info if you ever wanted to do a deep dive episode

Another great success . Not many people know about Boghead -- delighted you have now enlightened them . Btw , Is that a Sunderland accent I detect ? (or nearby )

Oh, aye i remeber it well. Suprised neighbours didnae complain about the smell of the toilets. Record crowd was actually against Berwick Rangers in 1972. The views around this ground was more stunning than the Rock!

All sites on Google state the record attendance was in 1957 v Raith Rovers.

The name reminds me of Shepshed Dynamo F.C.'s 'Butthole Lane'!
What a great location their new ground's in - you could watch for free from the top of that rock.

Kitkat Crescent at York was another one.

That's because they were sponsored by Rowntrees. The traditional name was Bootham Crescent.
I don't think Shepshed Dynamo are sponsored by Andrex!

@@peterdemeteor8399 Aye I remember York City had that sponsorship/ownership, similar up in Scotland with Livingston, their ground is the Toni Macaroni Arena

Named after Boghead Farm. Seen adjacent in old black and white aerial view of the ground in the 1940s.
