Yes. Its a big gimmick. I had a bad experience in exchange. The courier person rejected my 📱 in exchange and canceled the order only. And that discounted price wasn't available then. So i lost the deal only. I was ready to buy without exchange and let go of that discount but they didn't agree and canceled the full order.

When I purchased Nothing Phone 1 at 24218 rs from Flipkart, 4850 rs exchange was reduced to 1200 rs by the delivery agent for an Mi Phone. I cancelled the order and after 3 days purchased the same phone without exchange at 25068 rs. Essentially saving 2800 rs along with the old Mi Phone😊
Redmi Note 7 pro I think. They detected microscopic scratches in screen and the chrome plating from side was partially worn off . This was last year November.

This is absolutely true sir, this had happened to me and i can totally relate to it. Its better to sell your old phone to someone else or sell it on cashify. I'm sharing my prev. year experience with great Indian festival sale. I was buying m53 at 22k(inclusive bank disc.) in deal and there was something called disc. coupon, with this price has come down to 20k. To reap best out of it, i have gone for exchanging my phone( RM 5 pro) & with this price has come down to 16k which is great but when delivery guy came he rejected my on the basis of scratches & cancelled the delivery. So i had to order it again and saddest part was that disc. coupon has gone. I got frustrated as i can't do anything. After that sold my old phone on cashify for around 4.5k.
Well I'm glad this video came up. I have bad experience with Flipkart, they show illogical defects and problems in even a brand new phone, and sometimes straightaway decline the exchange phone and say the consumer to pay the extra charge. They don't understand a simple thing that, nobody would exchange a phone if it smelt brand new even after years of usage. Exchange offer is a big big scam, especially with Flipkart. Don't know about Amazon much though
was about to buy an S23 back in April from Flipkart for 8000 exchange bonus. they were offering around 25k for my OnePlus 8 (6/128) bought in 2020. delivery guy came and reduced the price by 8k over petty non issues. the phone was almost perfect condition with a barely visible scratch on screen viewed only at a specific angle. I refused the exchange and cancelled the order. then instead bought the S23 directly from samsung app, they quoted 26500 for my old OnePlus and even offered discounted price for new phone at 73k (80k is non discount price even today). the exchange took longer at about 10 days to complete, but very happy and would recommend to go directly with brand exchange if your old phone is in good condition, they generally offer much better value. Samsung partners with cashify for deferred exchange btw

This happened to me as well recently when I purchased moto g84 from Flipkart. The delivery boy was so desperate to find a flaw in my mobile that he unnecessarily tried to find one. He claimed my mobile's white light looked pink to him, and he could see two spots that he could only see because God had given him extra power in his eyes. After this, he mentioned there was an extra gap between the main panel and the back panel of my phone, and in the end, he said the phone was also bent. Then he made me an offer, suggesting I sell it to him instead of going through Flipkart, but I obviously declined. I could easily figure out that the exchange offer was just a gimmick.

For an exchange, its better to opt for offline stores. I had bitter experience with Amazon yesterday. They declined to accept working phone. Buying phones from online platform makes sense if and only if they have exclusive bank or card offers not available with shops otherwise. Lately, online and offline prices are mostly same and yes its never MRP.

The exchange system is very unfair to users. I understand their circumstances, but having your phone already evaluated low in exchange price and then having furthur deduction is a total loss for the user. Best would be to keep your old phone as backup device or to give it to someone in need.
Backup is right I didn't fall for any exchange because I would I sell my phone in 3k to such companies I would rather give someone in family or needy ones

Bro 100 percent the delivery boys (especially of flipkart) are corrupt. This has become an additional source of income for them. This was revealed to me by a delivery boy on condition of anonymity !

I bought a nothing phone 1 from Flipkart and exchanged my poco X3. According to Flipkart my phone was worth of almost rs 4000 but the delivery guy told me that my phone has a small scratch and I have to pay 950 rs now. Even the card discount was reduced to 2250 rs rather than 3000 rs when i choosed to enchange my old phone. They also charged 200 rs extra for the exchange system. So, my 1 year old poco X3 I bought on 14,000 rs gave me 2100 rs. Reality sad moment for me.😢

I also experienced the same thing where I purchased a moto g32 for my father as he was using an 2014-15 era phone. When the delivery boy came for exchange, he checked every nook and cranny of damage in my phone and abruptly said that the phone has minor body damage so we're reducing the exchange value of the phone. I had to pay additional 550 rs to the delivery boy for the new phone. This whole criteria for phone exchange is ridiculous and Amazon & Flipkart should bring back the old exchange system for phones.
Same exchange case happened to me--: tere was card discount of 10% and mobile exachage price was ₹2000, the mobile price was ₹11,000. They give 10% discount after subtracting mobile exachage value i.e. 11,000-2000= 9000, then give me 10% off that was ₹900. I was ok with that, but when Flipkart person came he says there is problem in the mobile and say they will not take my old phone. At last will gave them ₹2000 ( that was subtracted for exchange). Now problem was if I won't have selected mobile exachage option then i would get 10% off on 10,000 i.e. ₹1000. Here I made a loss. Same old mobile I sold on Casify, they simply accept my phone and instantly i got ₹2400 for exchange.
Last year I purchased TV in Big Billion Sale, The Display was Defective and the worst part is in sales reaching customer care for replacement or return is highly not Possible.

Same happened with for exchange later on Flipkart, post data transfer while Flipkart was suppose to pick up the phone, it was already 7 days past delivery. Flipkart cancelled the exchange saying seller isn't accepting.
Flipkart is so annoying and frustrating in these things. I also order a phone with exchange and card offer i got 30 k phone around 17 k and they didnt deliver it evern after 10 days when it showed that it reached final delievery starion on 2nd day. And even after cancelling for refund again i have to argue with customer care. Dont ever buy phones on flipkart with exchanges.
The worst thing is just a day before my Galaxy F23 was showing a exchange value of 6000/- but today suddenly it is showing 4800/- Like seriously shame on Flipkart.... Such marketing gimmick.... Better sell outside rather exchanging in Flipkart 😢

I will use it for home security etc. or will give to kids of my relatives if they wanted one. iPhone 12 exchange right now is 18-19k. So won't be exchanging any of my phones. 😅

When I asked why do you want ₹ 300, he said that the ekart manager would have charged me ₹ 300 for every mobile exchange.When I asked him to talk to the manager on phone, he ran away making excuses.😀
Correct bhai. I hated my Lg G8x, I thought it's new unit but they sent me refurbished. It was fine in the beginning but later on it started giving issues. Suddenly mic off while talking. Bluetooth switch off automatically. Even if Bluetooth is connected it will not send notifications to smart watch. Carrier is always at 2 line strength.....Never full strength or full network speed one mic stopped working whatever I did it didn't work. It has already been 6 months and i sent it to service centre and provided all the bill and details. And you know what happened they denied the repair stating that you're not the owner i was like wtf I was so frustrated and tortured talking with service centre and Flipkart service centre.....I am the owner I have the bill, box and accessories. And he said "sorry but you're the 2nd owner and this mobile has already crossed the guarantee period" my mind was blank. And after so much investigating I exchanged this junk of a mobile in next sale for realme GT master edition and it's value was 14k without dual screen and again they didn't give full discount on exchange. Guess why cause they said " Mobile has been opened before" i was like ya Lg service centre tried to resolve small issue it's not 3rd party you can confirm that with Flipkart customer care and they denied it and took that junk for 12k and later i sold the dual screen for 3k. My worst experience with Flipkart.
There is an additional gimmick which no one notices at all And that is suppose the price of the phone is 40000 and there is card offer of 3000 and exchange offer of 4000 then the card offer will be only applicable if the total amount paid by card is above 35000 then the card will be only applicable This is mentioned in terms and conditions of the card discount so primarily you will be only applicable to use any one offer either take card discount or exchange offer

Exact same happened with me. The delivery guy told me that my brand new phone is bend somehow when he didn't fund any other fault. No one, no tech reviewer calling out Flipkart on this. It is done by Flipkart only through their third party delivery guys. In fact that so called third party vendors beling to Flipkart only. They do it all with already planned strategy.
Delivery boy gets commission to reduce the valuation of old exchange phones. Like if he reduces 2500, he gets 200. 2020 me toh yahi tha ..abka pata ni.

amazon is regardless far better than flipkart in my case i have ordered one manga from flipkart even it costed me over 1000 rupees they sent me fake manga while i bought 3 mangas from amazon at less than 600 and all were legit my dad recieved fake products from flipkart too
Flipkart is usually like this with exchanges ..they have a seperate app to test phone and they look for 5 mins..but Amazon is pretty chill regarding this
About 2 years ago i exchanged my mobile in amazon,it was hassle free experience even though my mobile had some discolored portion they didn't reject the mobile or decrease the value.I don't have idea about the present scenario of exchange policy in amazon.But i don't trust flipkart.
that exchange thing and associated catch is always there, be it festive sale or without it. but frankly speaking, during 2012-13, via Flipkart I exchanged a laptop for a new laptop, old laptop was almost ten years old, and exchange price was 5,000/- and they gave the full exchange price, after a couple of checks, without any drama. things might have changed now.

this so so true. yesterday i had to exchange a phone with flipkart. first price was 2700. phone was in quite good condition. but kuch kuch issue bolke 1350 ka leke gaye. upar se ye packing charges (30), pickup charges (130) sab add kardiya hai. bahar fir kise bechne jaye samajh nahi aya to 1350 me hi dediya.
That's true it was around one year ago my exchange price was around 3k which was reduced to 1.5 k by delivery boy...after cancelling the order I selled it to local shop for 2.5 k and ordered phone again.

Lets say we are exchanging poco x2 and its value is showing 5 thousand and we have to buy redmi note 12 pro so in that phone there will be 3 thousand exhnage bonus Means the seeling price of phoen will be 8 thousand And redmi note 12 pro costs 25000-8000=17000 But the fun fact is mobile kitna bhi tuta futa rahe exchange bonus milta hi hai
are you sure about this? kyuki maine bhi abhi apna A71 exchange ke liye daala hai, usme mujhe exchange bonus 4k dikha rha hai(plus exchange value alag se hai). Toh pakka se 4k toh milega hi kya?
This truth about Flipkart's exchange process is right to the point! I have exchanged phone from Flipkart and bought new one, and some of my friends have the done the same. All of us had the same experience, wherein the delivery boy finds out even the minutest of faults from your old phone (dead pixel, screen crack, scratch etc) that aren't noticeable to you easily (and honestly, doesn't even affect your usage of the phone), and uses it to get your exchange value down. However, if you talk to the delivery boy, and bargain with him a bit, he might ask you to pay a small amount to him personally, and in return he will reflect the full value of the phone during exchange. So essentially your exchange value will go down, but you can at-least minimize the damage (Never tried this personally but have heard some people going that route).
In the last Flipkart sale, I got my Samsung s21 fe with a discount exchange value of 10,000/- for my Pixel 4a.. my experience was pretty smooth.. I had made up my mind the the agent would probably reduce my discount but he didn’t and readily took my phone ( it was in pretty good condition) with full discount. So I paid just ₹ 23k for my S21 fe.

I did exchange of my OnePlus 5t on Flipkart in Feb 23, they deducted 1000/- for some minor body damanges but seemed very transparent in their analysis & didn't seem to try to 'discover' reasons to reduce the exchange value. Got ~11000 for my phone.
I got lucky that day, I also checked for oneplus5t exchange value later, it was ~4500..not sure if it was some glitch or something but got s23 for ~54k with exchange, bank deals & spcl offer during launch!

My experience was good with Flipkart exchange. Phone had very minor scratch on sides but delivery person have not deducted any amount. Additionally I haven't given charger and cable. I had already decided if they deduct amount, I will not accept new phone 😂. Got lucky that my 27K phone sold for 17K after 2.3yrs of usage 😂

This is absolutely true sir, this had happened to me and i can totally relate to it. Its better to sell your old phone to someone else or sell it on cashify.
I'm sharing my prev. year experience with great Indian festival sale. I was buying m53 at 22k(inclusive bank disc.) in deal and there was something called disc. coupon, with this price has come down to 20k. To reap best out of it, i have gone for exchanging my phone( RM 5 pro) & with this price has come down to 16k which is great but when delivery guy came he rejected my on the basis of scratches & cancelled the delivery. So i had to order it again and saddest part was that disc. coupon has gone. I got frustrated as i can't do anything. After that sold my old phone on cashify for around 4.5k.

Well I'm glad this video came up. I have bad experience with Flipkart, they show illogical defects and problems in even a brand new phone, and sometimes straightaway decline the exchange phone and say the consumer to pay the extra charge. They don't understand a simple thing that, nobody would exchange a phone if it smelt brand new even after years of usage. Exchange offer is a big big scam, especially with Flipkart. Don't know about Amazon much though
was about to buy an S23 back in April from Flipkart for 8000 exchange bonus.
they were offering around 25k for my OnePlus 8 (6/128) bought in 2020. delivery guy came and reduced the price by 8k over petty non issues. the phone was almost perfect condition with a barely visible scratch on screen viewed only at a specific angle.
I refused the exchange and cancelled the order.
then instead bought the S23 directly from samsung app, they quoted 26500 for my old OnePlus and even offered discounted price for new phone at 73k (80k is non discount price even today).
the exchange took longer at about 10 days to complete, but very happy and would recommend to go directly with brand exchange if your old phone is in good condition, they generally offer much better value.

This happened to me as well recently when I purchased moto g84 from Flipkart. The delivery boy was so desperate to find a flaw in my mobile that he unnecessarily tried to find one. He claimed my mobile's white light looked pink to him, and he could see two spots that he could only see because God had given him extra power in his eyes. After this, he mentioned there was an extra gap between the main panel and the back panel of my phone, and in the end, he said the phone was also bent.
Then he made me an offer, suggesting I sell it to him instead of going through Flipkart, but I obviously declined. I could easily figure out that the exchange offer was just a gimmick.
Was the delivery guy a gutkha lover? Haha coz everything is fixed. They get commission for reducing the exchange value. Tried the same with you but with a twist.

For an exchange, its better to opt for offline stores. I had bitter experience with Amazon yesterday. They declined to accept working phone. Buying phones from online platform makes sense if and only if they have exclusive bank or card offers not available with shops otherwise. Lately, online and offline prices are mostly same and yes its never MRP.

The exchange system is very unfair to users. I understand their circumstances, but having your phone already evaluated low in exchange price and then having furthur deduction is a total loss for the user.
Best would be to keep your old phone as backup device or to give it to someone in need.

One more thing I noticed after I paid an extra amount for the scratch, there was no mention of it on the orders details. So there is a good chance that the delivery guy might have kept this amount.

I bought a nothing phone 1 from Flipkart and exchanged my poco X3. According to Flipkart my phone was worth of almost rs 4000 but the delivery guy told me that my phone has a small scratch and I have to pay 950 rs now. Even the card discount was reduced to 2250 rs rather than 3000 rs when i choosed to enchange my old phone. They also charged 200 rs extra for the exchange system. So, my 1 year old poco X3 I bought on 14,000 rs gave me 2100 rs. Reality sad moment for me.😢

Yes. Its a big gimmick. I had a bad experience in exchange. The courier person rejected my 📱 in exchange and canceled the order only. And that discounted price wasn't available then. So i lost the deal totally . I was ready to buy without exchange and let go of that discount but they didn't agree and canceled the full order.

I also experienced the same thing where I purchased a moto g32 for my father as he was using an 2014-15 era phone. When the delivery boy came for exchange, he checked every nook and cranny of damage in my phone and abruptly said that the phone has minor body damage so we're reducing the exchange value of the phone. I had to pay additional 550 rs to the delivery boy for the new phone. This whole criteria for phone exchange is ridiculous and Amazon & Flipkart should bring back the old exchange system for phones.
Same exchange case happened to me--: tere was card discount of 10% and mobile exachage price was ₹2000, the mobile price was ₹11,000.
They give 10% discount after subtracting mobile exachage value i.e. 11,000-2000= 9000, then give me 10% off that was ₹900.
I was ok with that, but when Flipkart person came he says there is problem in the mobile and say they will not take my old phone. At last will gave them ₹2000 ( that was subtracted for exchange).
Now problem was if I won't have selected mobile exachage option then i would get 10% off on 10,000 i.e. ₹1000. Here I made a loss.
Same old mobile I sold on Casify, they simply accept my phone and instantly i got ₹2400 for exchange.
Last year I purchased TV in Big Billion Sale, The Display was Defective and the worst part is in sales reaching customer care for replacement or return is highly not

Same happened with for exchange later on Flipkart, post data transfer while Flipkart was suppose to pick up the phone, it was already 7 days past delivery. Flipkart cancelled the exchange saying seller isn't accepting.

Flipkart is so annoying and frustrating in these things. I also order a phone with exchange and card offer i got 30 k phone around 17 k and they didnt deliver it evern after 10 days when it showed that it reached final delievery starion on 2nd day. And even after cancelling for refund again i have to argue with customer care. Dont ever buy phones on flipkart with exchanges.
The worst thing is just a day before my Galaxy F23 was showing a exchange value of 6000/- but today suddenly it is showing 4800/- Like seriously shame on Flipkart....

I hated my Lg G8x, I thought it's new unit but they sent me refurbished. It was fine in the beginning but later on it started giving issues. Suddenly mic off while talking. Bluetooth switch off automatically. Even if Bluetooth is connected it will not send notifications to smart watch. Carrier is always at 2 line strength.....Never full strength or full network speed one mic stopped working whatever I did it didn't work. It has already been 6 months and i sent it to service centre and provided all the bill and details. And you know what happened they denied the repair stating that you're not the owner i was like wtf I was so frustrated and tortured talking with service centre and Flipkart service centre.....I am the owner I have the bill, box and accessories. And he said "sorry but you're the 2nd owner and this mobile has already crossed the guarantee period" my mind was blank. And after so much investigating I exchanged this junk of a mobile in next sale for realme GT master edition and it's value was 14k without dual screen and again they didn't give full discount on exchange. Guess why cause they said " Mobile has been opened before" i was like ya Lg service centre tried to resolve small issue it's not 3rd party you can confirm that with Flipkart customer care and they denied it and took that junk for 12k and later i sold the dual screen for 3k. My worst experience with Flipkart.

And that is suppose the price of the phone is 40000 and there is card offer of 3000 and exchange offer of 4000 then the card offer will be only applicable if the total amount paid by card is above 35000 then the card will be only applicable
This is mentioned in terms and conditions of the card discount so primarily you will be only applicable to use any one offer either take card discount or exchange offer

Exact same happened with me. The delivery guy told me that my brand new phone is bend somehow when he didn't fund any other fault. No one, no tech reviewer calling out Flipkart on this. It is done by Flipkart only through their third party delivery guys. In fact that so called third party vendors beling to Flipkart only. They do it all with already planned strategy.
Delivery boy gets commission to reduce the valuation of old exchange phones. Like if he reduces 2500, he gets 200.

About 2 years ago i exchanged my mobile in amazon,it was hassle free experience even though my mobile had some discolored portion they didn't reject the mobile or decrease the value.I don't have idea about the present scenario of exchange policy in amazon.But i don't trust flipkart.

this so so true. yesterday i had to exchange a phone with flipkart. first price was 2700. phone was in quite good condition. but kuch kuch issue bolke 1350 ka leke gaye. upar se ye packing charges (30), pickup charges (130) sab add kardiya hai. bahar fir kise bechne jaye samajh nahi aya to 1350 me hi dediya.
That's true it was around one year ago my exchange price was around 3k which was reduced to 1.5 k by delivery boy...after cancelling the order I selled it to local shop for 2.5 k and ordered phone again.

Exchange offer means when we exchange any phoen there will be additional offer in some particular phones...
Lets say we are exchanging poco x2 and its value is showing 5 thousand and we have to buy redmi note 12 pro so in that phone there will be 3 thousand exhnage bonus
Means the seeling price of phoen will be 8 thousand
And redmi note 12 pro costs 25000-8000=17000
But the fun fact is mobile kitna bhi tuta futa rahe exchange bonus milta hi hai

This truth about Flipkart's exchange process is right to the point! I have exchanged phone from Flipkart and bought new one, and some of my friends have the done the same. All of us had the same experience, wherein the delivery boy finds out even the minutest of faults from your old phone (dead pixel, screen crack, scratch etc) that aren't noticeable to you easily (and honestly, doesn't even affect your usage of the phone), and uses it to get your exchange value down.
However, if you talk to the delivery boy, and bargain with him a bit, he might ask you to pay a small amount to him personally, and in return he will reflect the full value of the phone during exchange. So essentially your exchange value will go down, but you can at-least minimize the damage (Never tried this personally but have heard some people going that route).
In the last Flipkart sale, I got my Samsung s21 fe with a discount exchange value of 10,000/- for my Pixel 4a.. my experience was pretty smooth.. I had made up my mind the the agent would probably reduce my discount but he didn’t and readily took my phone ( it was in pretty good condition) with full discount. So I paid just ₹ 23k for my S21 fe.

I did exchange of my OnePlus 5t on Flipkart in Feb 23, they deducted 1000/- for some minor body damanges but seemed very transparent in their analysis & didn't seem to try to 'discover' reasons to reduce the exchange value. Got ~11000 for my phone.

My experience was good with Flipkart exchange. Phone had very minor scratch on sides but delivery person have not deducted any amount. Additionally I haven't given charger and cable. I had already decided if they deduct amount, I will not accept new phone 😂. Got lucky that my 27K phone sold for 17K after 2.3yrs of usage 😂

you are right sir, exchange ke time me pirce 4500 tha lekin jb courier boy aaya aur chekc kiya toh sirf 1500 ka accpet kr rha tha balki phone minor scratch the jo ki shi se visible bhi nhi the. fir jb 1500 value btayi toh maine reject kr diya aur offline market me usi phone ko 5000 me becha. I suggest to everyone ki aagr phone accha hai toh kabhi bhi exchange offer me mt do sidha offline market me sell kro.
