As a European (spain) that lives in the US and also I have lived in France, UK, Finland. Safety is one thing Europeans have wrong about the US. In the US there is crime, yes, but it is extremely localized, unless you are in those particular neighborhoods, you will barely see any crime. While in Europe you will have more chances of getting mugged or robbed. I feel safer using new york ' subway4than paris' metro. Waiting for a bus in plaza Castilla in Madrid at night has been way scarier than Waiting for the el in Chicago. I was a travel guide for many years when I was in my 20' s and early 30's so I had the chance to travel all over the world, and the US never felt unsafe. Again, avoid those bad neighborhoods and you will be fine.
I live in an area that I have seen listed as supposedly being dangerous due to high crime. The thing is if you look it up it is far and away property crime and that includes stupid stuff like kids throwing toilet paper in trees or eggs and stuff like that. The sort of things that are technically property crime but if they cause any monetary damage it is very little and nobody feels unsafe because of it. The entire state of TN has a murder rate of less than one per day so if there is any kind of murder or shooting or anything it is big news and it is almost always some sort of domestic thing with family or spouses or something. In my life I can only remember two incidents where it was multiple murders that weren't domestic and one of those made the news for like 10 years where they talked about the anniversary of it and the other one was where somebody from out of state got off the interstate and went to a truck stop and stabbed a few people which was super weird. That single crime resulted in a 25% increase in the murder rate for the year for a city with hundreds of thousands of people. As much as a lot of the news media likes to hype up crime to get people worked up to keep them engaged so they can make money the fact is in 95 to 99% of the country your chance of ever being involved in a violent crime are virtually zero.
How many times have you needed to put out a fire in your home? Yet you still keep a fire extinguisher close by, Makes perfect sense. Most people will never have to use a gun for defense once in their entire lives. Also you have to realize the 2nd A was not written for hunting or home invaders.
@danielh.5116 that explanation couldn't be more perfect. Loved it and true a 100%. That is another misunderstanding foreigners have about the 2nd amendment. Also 32% of Americans own guns, is not that all of us have them. When i go back to Europe to visit friends and family, they have the impression and truly believe that everyone has a gun depot in their houses. To be honest, It's hilarious and also sad at the same time such the level of ignorance .
No doubt about it, California is expensive, especially San Francisco, but you could have gone around the corner from the hotel and that same $14 beer would have cost you $4.00. Location, location, location!
So, now you know just how scarily friendly Americans can be. We’re just that way. Elevators, escalators, checkout lines, getting gas, the ER/A&E, the vet, the post office, dropping off/picking up mail at your mailbox, the parking lot, you name it. The dog park?!!
You guys are awesome. Native Texan here. Don't apologize for any complaints you have. Americans are used to directness. I hope you guys find your way back to the Lone Star State some day!
Now that you've seen the US, I wish you would show us around Jersey. I'd love to see where you live! What shops do you have, and where do you go for entertainment and dining? Since you're so close to France, is there much French influence in Jersey? What's your climate like? I have so many questions!
A tough person is not the same as a hard person. People who got on ships and sailed into the unknown in hopes of a better life, leaving everything, is a tough person. Heading west in a covered wagon, hoping you make it, is tough. I think toughness is in our genes and mentality bec of these type of ancestors.
Yes I’ve only ever heard people from other states call us Cali. We refer to ourselves as Northern Californians/NorCal, Southern Californians/SoCal or living in the Central Valley. There are also many Valleys in California and also living in the Foothills again either Northern or Southern California.

San Francisco is where me and my parents were born. My family has been in San Francisco since before the Gold Rush. I am so glad that you had a nice time in The City. San Franciscans are very sad how much The City has changed. See the old classic movie ‘I Remember Mama’. It shows what San Francisco was like 120 years ago. The little neighborhood where the family lived is now built up and near Pier 39 where you visited. America is so huge and each part is so different yet the same is our strength. I am in Santa Monica today- my daughter and her husband live here, so we visit several times a year. A beautiful city in LA. Such a pretty beach. We love walking the streets, the park, and the beach and pier.
I have to be honest here - Chain Chinese food places are terrible. The only good ones are the non chain, family owned Chinese places, which there are so many of that you will always be able to find one.
Some states really love their flag. Texas, Colorado, Maryland (where I live) you'll see the state flags on a lot of souvenir type items and clothing then usually more the US flag in front of houses.
Panda Express is over rated. I see others suggesting that local Chinese shops are usually the better choice. Patriotism is pretty wide spread, but actually has diminished quite a bit in parts of the US. Glad it still resonates with you.
Just like a lot of places, panda is nowhere near as good as it used to be. A lot of these national companies, such as panda and KFC were taken over by venture capitalists. to cut down on expenses and to increase profit for the investors, they cut back on the quality of food
As a California native, I stay out of San Francisco. My mother went to highschool in San Francisco. I only go to the VA at fort Miley in San Francisco. I used to have relatives in San Francisco. Haven't seen them in decades.
To be completely truthful, American are only gonna do Panda Express at the mall food court...lol...there are too many good mom and pop Chinese restaurants just everywhere in America! Just know you never have to settle for bad Chinese food in America!

I'm glad you all felt safe in America. I'm in North Carolina, and I come and go and I never feel unsafe in my city. I live about 20 miles west of Charlotte, and yes, they have more crime than we do, but that's the case in all big cities, I guess. And I never see people wearing guns on their bodies. I guess people think guns are all over, and I guess a lot of people have them, but I never see anyone plainly showing they have a gun. Of course I live in what's known as a "safe" neighborhood, but we have lots fewer crimes in out city, I'm glad to say. If you come back visit North Carolina. We have the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, part of the Appalachian chain of mountains; they extend from Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada to central Alabama in the United States, covering a distance of about 2,000 miles (3,200 km). The section that runs through North Carolina and east Tennessee is a magical place to me. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in America. We love our land.
Strangers will help you in Texas. I have been helped so many time without even learning people’s names! Car problems, directions, carrying heavy items from a store (female)…
Part 3, Part 3...Thank you guys for coming to America with a completely open mind. People like to bash America, and these are people who, themselves, are usually scared of leaving their own comfort zone, scared to travel and have never actually been to America. Consequently, they want you to be scared like them. I hate to say it, but Europeans tend to be way more pessimistic than Americans, which is something I really struggle to understand. It seems you tend to be super focused on what could go wrong, especially people in the Germanic countries. With that type of mindset, how do you explore? how do you innovate? how do you pick yourself up and start over when life knocks you down? It's good to see the the Beesleys are not like that!
As an American, I was so upset when I saw you guys go to Panda Express. Their food isn't very good, and the portion sizes are just tiny. I honestly don't even understand how they stay in business.
Being my first post on your RUclips channel, there is a need to understand no matter where you are, or what you are doing, and no matter how much you prepare, at any moment life could abruptly change, so to avoid regret, live it to its top.
It's always interesting to see what non-Americans think when they come here. I enjoyed your reaction to the clam chowder and gumbo. 🙂 Thank you for the compliments on the U.S. ❤
Everything is more expensive in large cities, as well as from state to state. And you guys saw the Star Spangled banner story, so you understand our pride in our flag. It is ingrained in us by choice
As an American and having traveled the world, we aren't any more rude than anyone else. But we can be more direct, fewer pleasantries (except in the South). So it can come across as rude, but its really about being a high-speed society and needing to get stuff done. To me, Ive had good food all around the world including the UK. The UK has like 6 things they do well. But in the US, you can get like 100 things done very well. So, to me its quality PLUS variety.
Also I had a similar safety experience in Mexico. We honeymooned in Cancun area and my mom was so worried but I felt completely safe there, even a bit safer than sometimes in the US because it was such a well built system for tourists.
On the friendliest part. I have friends from Liverpool and they told me Americans are some of the most accepting people. Like I said football instead of soccer and my friend Ross was like see we wouldn’t do that
I have enjoyed these little reflections of your trip, and especially the positive outlook. Maybe some American rubbed off on you on your trip, just kidding, you both are wonderful always. Thank you for your stories, and yes I'd love to hear more. Great video, thank you for sharing.
About the flags and the pride in America, I've heard many in the UK and Scotland say the same thing, they just don't see that over there. Well, I don't know about that. I was watching the Scottish Tattoo performance, and it seemed like a heck of a lot of people either had a Scottish flag in their hand, or painted on their face. I was a bit shocked, after all I've heard.
Speaking about cities in general, probably. I'm native Californian and haven't everywhere, but there are small cities up the coast and up in the Sierras that just blow Frisco prices away.
It’s sure is. I’ve always grown up knowing that on Sundays you didn’t pay to park at a parking meter. But that’s not the case in San Francisco. You paid to park at the meters even on Sundays. I found that out in the late 90s and that was before San Francisco became very expensive.
I would love to see part 3. I'm fascinated with the differences in our countries. And the perception of America and Americans. To include our little brother to the north.
I'm so glad that You 2 had such a great time here in America. Fly your flag with pride and don't let anyone forget that You love Your country. Maybe you'll start a chain reaction and others will follow your lead. Remember it takes only 1 person to start something positive and many may just follow. Archie is growing up right before our eyes. Handsome young man. Love From Michigan and it's a beautiful evening ❤️
Panda Express is one of those places that some locations are great and some locations are meh. Definitely worth trying again the next time you guys come to the US and maybe ask your viewers where the best PE is in whatever area you go to to give it a fair shot.
I would generally say that for the average visitor with relatively few exceptions America is quite safe. Much of the violent crime is over personal disputes or drug turf in areas where the average visitor is very unlikely to go unless they are seeking out such areas for some bizarre reason. The top 50 most dangerous areas are generally areas that have been pretty bad for a long time and are definitely not major tourist attractions. Even locals living nearby don't typically go to such places either.
I don't know about all of us but I was telling other youtube channels that have been around for years that y'all were in trouble with your chsnnel. Glad to see that some offered help.
Hotel restaurants and taverns are always extra expensive, as you're paying for the convenience, not just the service. On the other hand, you typically find a coffee maker in the room and free packs of coffee for them, and you can get extra coffee if you ask for it, along with free toiletries, shampoo, toothbrushes, extra towels, etc.
I noticed the rocketship popup play place in the background. My grandson has the same in his room. He's six and I'm sure his younger brother will be in it soon. He's eighteen months. 😁
We don’t have a Panda Express here but three small local and even though all different all so well done. Living close to the border it’s not unusual to have visitors from Canada ask for info and personally have never heard anyone give them a hard time with help, one lost man I had follow me out of the backroads when his road was blocked and couldn’t follow his directions to his destination, the smile and thanks made my day.
I would be curious to see you guys do a video of a local restaurant where you live. You could explain the differences between America and your local places.
7:09 1. california's expensive and 2. hotels are absolutely famous for overcharging for everything literally any nearby convenience store or grocery store has virtually everything they sell at like half to 2/3 the cost
Overall touristy areas are more expensive. I can imagine what it’s like in California.. and don’t stress it, we’re all guilty of spending too much at the hotel just for the convenience.. just glad you had a great time
Yesssss! Part 3😊❤ I’m happy that y’all had a great experience on your journey to America 🇺🇸 It is definitely an amazing place to live!!! Mississippi here!!❤😊❤😊

San Francisco is way more expensive than even the rest of California.
even in the 1800s, the Japanese diplomats commented that it was expensive.
Malibu has the most expensive houses in the US. Pebble Beach in Monterey also has more expensive houses than SF.
It's a city that only exists because there was a ton of gold there. The economy has been screwed since it's inception
Yes, part 3, please
I would love to see part 3. I'm fascinated with the differences in our countries. And the perception of America and Americans. To include our little brother to the north.
Part 3 please! This is fun!
Cali is wildly exspensive.
Wish they’d have tried Cajun food from Louisiana
Yes please! A part 3!
Parts 3,4,5,6...thank you!
Well good to see you back on. I have some catching up to do, so that I can understand what happened.
You mentioned In-N-Out... that's really the gold standard in fast food.
Panda Express is one of those places that some locations are great and some locations are meh. Definitely worth trying again the next time you guys come to the US and maybe ask your viewers where the best PE is in whatever area you go to to give it a fair shot.
So happy you had some good times, and hopefully will have good memories of your trip to look back on someday. I hope you return Many times ☀
Panda Express is a mall Chinese food that is one of the worst Chinese restaurants you can get. It is vile.
Yes part3 please.
Glad you're back!
I don't know about all of us but I was telling other youtube channels that have been around for years that y'all were in trouble with your chsnnel. Glad to see that some offered help.
Yes to a part 3
Hotel restaurants and taverns are always extra expensive, as you're paying for the convenience, not just the service. On the other hand, you typically find a coffee maker in the room and free packs of coffee for them, and you can get extra coffee if you ask for it, along with free toiletries, shampoo, toothbrushes, extra towels, etc.
Awesome show guys, another part please.
I noticed the rocketship popup play place in the background. My grandson has the same in his room. He's six and I'm sure his younger brother will be in it soon. He's eighteen months. 😁
Love hearing your feedback... Texas here ❤
I’m betting the giant flag was in front of a Camper sales lot! That’s where the biggest ones I’ve ever seen are located.
Glad to hear you had a good experience.
Of course we want to see another 5 (at the very least)!
I did not know you were back it looks like I missed about five videos😊
7:09 1. california's expensive and 2. hotels are absolutely famous for overcharging for everything
literally any nearby convenience store or grocery store has virtually everything they sell at like half to 2/3 the cost
Did you readjust to grocery shopping when you got home? Love you three!
Overall touristy areas are more expensive. I can imagine what it’s like in California.. and don’t stress it, we’re all guilty of spending too much at the hotel just for the convenience.. just glad you had a great time
Bodega Bay is worth visiting, one of my favorite spots in Ca.
The beer you should try is the Spencer. Made by Monks in Spencer Massachusetts. Very good
Bring on part 3, please.
Yesssss! Part 3😊❤ I’m happy that y’all had a great experience on your journey to America 🇺🇸 It is definitely an amazing place to live!!! Mississippi here!!❤😊❤😊
