here's my simple explanation about luffys awakening... Rubber when applied with too much heat melts. His heart pumping extremely fast that zuneshia is hearing implies that he is overheating. More like 2nd gear but much much faster allowing him to melt. This is his awakening. His strawhat is also melting meaning he is now able to affect his surroundings by his df much like with Doflamingo.

In my opinion, it is the state when a devil fruit user reach the point between life and death, and the devil residing inside him can then take over his body thus merging the devil with the user. At this point, two things can happen, either 1. the user can gain the full power of the devil OR 2. the devil gain the body of the user. Kaido has never awakened his own devil fruit because he has never been defeated and did not reach the point of near death. He did not obtain the requirement necessary to awaken. Kaido in the rooftop talks to himself about how the fight ended and this was how it should have ended which he really doesnt mean and jumps down to the live performance floor and tells to brags about his victory in the same panel we can see everyone reacting to kaidos win -Cut to where yamato and momonosuke is they are talking about kaidos last blast breath and how they managed to survive it suddenly momonosuke hears zuneshas voice talking to him about the awakening of the fruit and what it is supposed to do and zunesha can feel the power of that fruit and asks momonosuke to command him to release his punishment and let him free but momonosuke tells zunesha he doesnt know what to do. Zunesha tells if that fruit awakens all the sea kings will be summoned which could cause mass destruction in the area. -In the rooftop we can see small marks appearing on luffys body which are glowing at the same time its shown all the navy ships near wano starts feels a heavy shake and the same time people in wano also feels a very powefull tremor. Knowing this momonosuke starts to panic and starts to tell yamato about this but the tremor causes becomes very powerfull it creates shockwaves which made yamato trip before momonosuke could even talk to her. -In the last panel we can see luffy recovering at the same time the marks in his body starts glowing very brightly that it could be seen from the prespective of momonosuke End of chapter Break next week

What is a devil fruit awakening?
In my opinion, it is the state when a devil fruit user reach the point between life and death, and the devil residing inside him can then take over his body thus merging the devil with the user. At this point, two things can happen, either 1. the user can gain the full power of the devil OR 2. the devil gain the body of the user.
Kaido has never awakened his own devil fruit because he has never been defeated and did not reach the point of near death. He did not obtain the requirement necessary to awaken. He has been trying to reach that state of near death because if he can awaken his devil fruit, he will have the power to defeat the world government.

-Cover:Oven reaches whole cake island through mirror world we can see katakuri with bandages and marks all over body waiting there while brulee is helping oven travel through mirror world.
-Chapter begins in the rooftop where kaido goes from homicial drunk phase to depressed drunk phase. He starts crying and talks to cp0 on ruining his dreams and in a quick attack which the cp0 boss even couldnt see he hits him in the face making him crush from the rooftop to live performance floor.
-In the live performance floor we can see the strawhats,kaido subordinates and the samurais reacting to the fall of the cp0 boss.
Kaido in the rooftop talks to himself about how the fight ended and this was how it should have ended which he really doesnt mean and jumps down to the live performance floor and tells to brags about his victory in the same panel we can see everyone reacting to kaidos win
-Cut to where yamato and momonosuke is they are talking about kaidos last blast breath and how they managed to survive it suddenly momonosuke hears zuneshas voice talking to him about the awakening of the fruit and what it is supposed to do and zunesha can feel the power of that fruit and asks momonosuke to command him to release his punishment and let him free but momonosuke tells zunesha he doesnt know what to do. Zunesha tells if that fruit awakens all the sea kings will be summoned which could cause mass destruction in the area.
-In the rooftop we can see small marks appearing on luffys body which are glowing at the same time its shown all the navy ships near wano starts feels a heavy shake and the same time people in wano also feels a very powefull tremor. Knowing this momonosuke starts to panic and starts to tell yamato about this but the tremor causes becomes very powerfull it creates shockwaves which made yamato trip before momonosuke could even talk to her.
-In the last panel we can see luffy recovering at the same time the marks in his body starts glowing very brightly that it could be seen from the prespective of momonosuke
