To our departed friend Jon Harry. You did some amazing work and to you as well Soi for keeping his video memories alive and well. Rest In Peace Jon Harry.
Boy were those XP *cough* HSTs deafening at times. I wish I could see one going at supersonic speed like I did when I was in London in May that year. Beautiful stuff from OUR late friend Jon.
I know some Virgin services ran out from Paddington to Birmingham until 2003 and GW 47's were also still running until 2002 correct me if I'm wrong. But fantastic footage you even filmed LUL C stock trains just a shame they Yellow pages one wasn't filmed because I think it ran like that until May or August 1999 if somebody could please confirm.
London Paddington has changed so much when older trains including Class 43 HSTs and Class 332s have been replaced by new rolling stocks and of course the Elizabeth Line.
The first Great Western livery (not to be confused with First Great Western) was very nice. Heathrow Express Class 332s don't look at all dated, in fact they look much more striking than the 387s they use now
0906 Paddington - Man Picc, that was a long-running service dating back to BR days. There was also a 0604 to Man Picc, and a 1418 to Edinburgh via Manc
@@AndreiTupolev That sounds about right. There were 3 loco hauled sets into & out of Old Oak Common each day. The 14.18 would get unusual locos at times, maybe a Res one as would the afternoon Brighton service. It had a tendency to fail on the Southern and get all sorts of rescue traction, i once had the pair of Eurostar class 73 on to as far as Reading!
excellent video! all that electric overhead and just for heathrow express at that time. great hst sounds.
Thank you... i was involved in stringing up the overheads here, hours on end sitting on an 09 in the middle of a freezing cold night!
thanks for that. great to hear the valenta again. Better gwr livery than present one but this one is more practical.
Well done, my traveller friend!

I think he'd have been pleased others enjoy looking at his work......
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus What about 1998?
Another fine upload from THE JON HARRY COLLECTION 👍👍👍
Plenty of valenta power to please the senses. You've done him proud Mr B...
Thank you.... we were off to Reading to chase Routemasters!
7:22 The 322's honestly just look way to modern for that year, It looks so futuristic compared to now.
IKR?

Yes, the Cross Country services ended at Padd when the Voyagers appeared......

A year into First and not a single F logo ? 🤔

We need more old 465/466 footage (maybe 365 too)
I'll see what i can dig up....
👍👍👍
Was the 47 T'nT Inter City set the shortlived (if I recall) Paddington-Manchester service?
I can't remember now, it was the 09.xx to somewhere north!

Those Class 334 units are already scrapped. Tin rot apparently.
What an odd livery those 125s wore
Typical 90s shitty privatisation liveries its not better today tbh.
But the livery is still very nice. Before First Group took over and changed the livery.
@@mr.atomic2970 I prefer the 1990s liveries.
@@Sarahbryson321 wich ones?
