Christian Bale Says Hollywood (and the World) Would Be Better If ‘White Dudes’ Weren’t in Charge of Everything The actor says there would be "so much better films and so much more interesting stories" if white dudes weren't running Hollywood. By Zack Sharf December 19, 2017

    • @dayrisin
      @dayrisin 4 дня назад

Christian Bale has had enough of “white guys” running everything in Hollywood and beyond. The actor stopped by AOL Build with his “Hostiles” co-star Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi on December 18 and told the crowd that the reason he moved to the U.S. in the first place was because he wanted his kids to grow up in a “country of inclusion.” Unfortunately, that ideal hasn’t been too much of a reality.

    • @dayrisin
      @dayrisin 4 дня назад +1

“Our culture will be so much richer the day that we can finally stop saying, ‘Hey, it’s all white dudes who are running things,'” Christian Bale said. “Whether that be Hollywood, whether that be Washington, you know. We’re going to get, in Hollywood, so much better films and so much more interesting stories being told and America will become the America that the rest of the world sees it as, that makes it unique…that we recognize makes this such a beautiful, brilliant country.”

Frankly I am shocked at the lack of self awareness among celebrities because it seems like ANYBODY could've made a, "My Presidential Endorsement" video and said, "It's not my position to tell you who to vote for and I would respect you all the same, no matter your choice, but all I would ask of is that you offer your fellow Americans the same courtesy." They would've been celebrated as based and put themselves on a pedestal above everybody who gave an endorsement... but so few of them did, they either endorsed Kamala or stayed quiet.

As to the quality of writing, I have a theory that there's not a lot of "no" being passed around. I believe writing screenplays or tv shows has become the Hollywood version of "You're soooooo funny. You should do standup!"

I became a movie buff at a young age. Reading film trivia and learning about my favorite actors and actresses was something I became passionate about. I wanted to be an actor.
I had Twitter back in 2016, and the election concluded, and the majority of the actors and actresses complained about nothing but politics. I'm sure they were doing it before, but it was all over the feed. I got tired of seeing them whine all the time, and then the message started spreading all over films and series. Now I barely watch anything new. I watch reruns, old films, or RUclips. I could be missing out, but it's not something I will lose sleep over.

Celebrities need to learn a crucial thing. They don't actually have any real power, the audience, the fans, we have the power. If we don't watch their shows and movies, buy their merch and the like, they loose money, relevancy and their careers. As such they should treat us with more respect and not attack us when we don't agree with whatever trendy political bullshit they want to blab about.
Also really tone deaf of them to get so involved in politics in the first place since most of the time, they don't know shit about what they are supporting. The fact so many of them got behind Kamala, purely to spite Trump even though Kamala had made things more expensive really shows how out of touch they are. Then again, why would they care, so what if food is a couple dollars more, they are millionaires they don't care.

Too many celebrities made the mistake of buying into the utterly uncritical, borderline mindless adoration they receive from a certain subset of their most obsessive fans - the depressing modern phenomena of the so called 'stan' or stalker-fan who makes their fixation with a particular celebrity the core of their identity and sense of self - to such a degree that they came to see themselves not merely as the professional entertainers they actually are (or at least should be - plenty deserve neither the accolade 'professional' nor 'entertainer'), but instead as a morally and intellectually superior overclass with the right, and even the obligation, to tell the rest of us what and how to think. They came to view themselves as contemporary Olympians with Tinseltown as their Mount Olympus, conferring their supposed 'wisdom' upon the inferior mortals dwelling below, a gift they imagine their 'inferiors' among the general populous should be eternally grateful for.
That insanely narcissistic world view became so ingrained in the mindset of many celebrities that they reacted poorly when forced to face the reality that, beyond the bubble of endless validation they receive from their hardcore fanbase, the vast majority of ordinary people at best are wholly indifferent to the opinions of the would be Hollywood neo-nobility, and many (accurately, in my opinion) view most celebrities as utterly out of touch, wilfully clueless, and obnoxiously arrogant and supercilious. Instead of taking a moment to ask themselves if maybe there are good reasons for the indifference, and sometimes outright disdain, they are held in by so many, the weapons grade egomania that characterises so many modern celebrities compelled them to lash out at anyone who didn't immediately offer fawning obeisance. As a result, they are all too quick to buy into any narrative that paints any criticism of their work, or out of touch public statements, as being motivated by some form of bigotry because that spares them from having to acknowledge their own flaws. Similarly, many celebrities assumed that their voices must carry so much weight that their endorsements of one Presidential candidate over another made the outcome of the recent US election a foregone conclusion, and were outraged that the general public dared to defy their will by voting for the other candidate.
Celebrities already see themselves as superior, and fantasise that they have real power to force the general public to effectively do their bidding. Nothing angers them so much as being confronted with just how hollow those fantasies really are.

You know there was a reason why the Roman Empire put actors and gladiators. At the bottom of society because they truly contribute nothing. Gladiators an actor's only function is to give the people what they want and give them mild amusement their opinions. Are like the wind they come and go they will be remembered. For the spectacle and Fanfare But ultimately they will pass with the wind.

I’m a black female registered democrat who voted all red down the ballet & Hollywood is one of the reasons why. Their endorsements made me A LOT more certain who I was voting for after being only 70% sure. The majority of Hollywood has exposed themselves online as being a mess, stupid, fake, making horrible decisions or having low character/morals…So why would I vote the same way as these people? Just cuz I liked your lil’ movie or song doesn’t mean I’m gonna trust you with serious matters that will impact my kids. There’s a difference between being talented vs. being wise but these celebs think those words mean the same thing. The flood of endorsements were nothing but red flags for me. After not being 100% sure about my vote, my brain was like: “ARE YA SURE NOW?!”

Brie didn't say white males don't have the right to an opinion because of the colour of their skin. She cited statistics and shared her opinion. Which she's entitled to too. That opinion being when she stated what she doesn't need. And what she doesn't need being a 40 yr old white dude to tell her what didn't work for him about a Wrinkle in time, over a critic from the intended target demographic of the film.
Its cool that you enjoyed A Wrinkle in Time. That film directed by Ava DuVernay may have been accessible to you but was not made FOR you. She had teens in mind before you. She had females in mind before you. She had black viewers in mind, before you. (I'm assuming you're white). None of this takes away from your enjoyment. Just saying that films are made for non white male audiences too and that they should be covered by a field of non white males that is proportionate to the general population. Check out the whole thing dude. She mentions everything you would want to hear from her.

Celebrities can take their money and go wherever they feel comfortable in any part of the Word, they gonna trick you to make a mess in your own country and leave when they dont feel safe or they gonna close themselve in guarded villa and leave you alone. Maybe it goes both ways. If we don't idolize them, they won't get egos. Millions want to be them. Then they go and get a big head because they've made it in the industry. And we make them out to be influential in society, and conflate their characters with who they morally are. I do miss actors having more reserve and self-awareness though. It made me respect them more and humanized them greatly.

So, it's perhaps not surprising that Gal Gadot has strong opinions on the topic of feminism.
The actress - who had almost given up on her film career when she landed Hollywood's most badass female role - believes anyone who is not a feminist is by default sexist.
"People always ask me, 'Are you a feminist?'" Gadot tells Rolling Stone, in a new interview out this month.
"And I find the question surprising, because I think, 'Yes, of course. Every woman, every man, everyone should be a feminist. Because whoever is not a feminist is a sexist.'"

gadot is not a man hater like feminist are, she always said wonder woman was for everyone and that patty jenkins being the director worked because she was the right person for the job not just because she was a woman, and she has also spoken against hollywood recasting male roles to fit women when she did a movie last year about a spy in the mission impossible style

New to your channel, 1st video.
This was a good video, and i largely agree with it. Full disclosure I'm a fan of YellowFlash, Nerdrotic & friends etc. So i certainly have a certain view of all modern western formats & mediums of entertainment from Hollywood, videogames, tabletop games, comicbooks, literature books etc, i think the last decade in Westsrn entertainment is awful, perhaps longer going to 21st Century.
Godzilla Minus One is the best spectacle heavy CG Visual FX film of 21st Century thus far. Most of the best comics last decade are indies & Japanese Manga. Best AAA videogames are Japanese, SKorea is coming up. Global indie games. Thats where I'm at with it.

They have forgotten that they should keep quiet about subjects of situations without first doing their homework that is 2 hours long and viewed from different points of view and not in one day. 4:47 I’m surprised that the actor meltdown in New York during the trump trial wasn’t shown . 7:18 I don’t recognise that movie as the film that made Andy want to have a toy version the video film that was made in the 00s that was the movie that made him a fan of the character in my opinion . 11:02 if they feel guilt for that then ear mark some of their money to community projects in their hometown or state. Or if they don’t want to do that then volunteer . Like Alice cooper volunteers at homeless shelter some times .

Oh and Tim Allen didn’t voice Buzz in the Lightyear movie because that movie was not about the “toy”. It was about a younger guy, and you’re going to need a younger toy. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeing two women kiss in an animated movie. What makes it so different than al the straight couples we have seen kissing in animated films.

“One of my favorite scenes to shoot that I also supervised in post was the LA Metro train scene,” commented Croshaw. “We covered all bases on that sequence.” The sequence had Captain Marvel jumping onto the moving train, fighting an old lady, fighting on top of the train, nearly falling off the train, Skroulson and Fury fighting in the car, and ultimately ending with the massive crash where the bus t-bones Fury’s car. “It was a puzzle putting all of the pieces together. Brie did many of her own stunts atop an authentic 90s Metro car that was shot at a location called the tail track,” explains Croshaw. It was shot at the end of the metro train track which is a small space with a big building parallel to the track. “We had originally planned on shooting in a nice open parking lot but because of concerns with moving the train car, the weight of the train car on the parking lot amongst other scheduling concerns, it was a last minute change to shoot at the tail track and not move the train.”

Brie Larson stunts interview before Chris hemsworth - No, it really all came out of ignorance, to be honest. I didn’t realize that you don’t actually do your own, most people don’t do their own stunts in these movies. I thought you did, and I’ve never been a particularly elegant or athletic person. I’m just an introvert with asthma and felt like I needed to be able to do that. I just thought, “I don’t wanna be on set, and they ask me to do things, and I don’t know how to do it.”
So I started training as soon as I could, which was right after I wrapped, so it basically started right as I wrapped picture, I locked picture on the film that I directed. I then went into that, which then turned into nine months of training. And nine months of just training-training, and three months of stunt training with the stunt team. We spent two hours every day, five days a week.
And it wasn’t until … everyone just went along with it, and was like, “Cool.” It wasn’t until we started shooting, and I started doing all my own wire work stunts, and flips and stuff that people were like, “You know nobody, now we’ll tell you, nobody actually does this. We just didn’t want you to stop. But now that you’ve kind of accomplished this thing, we don’t normally do this.” And I was like, huh?

Have you ever read a movie review and felt like it completely missed the point (and the magic!) of a film you love? Brie Larson apparently has, and is offering a tangible, achievable solution to these misguided reviews: a more diverse pool of film critics. At the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, Brie spoke about the importance of greater representation in criticism, which would hopefully lead to increased representation in the films themselves.

Schwartz is no less effusive when talking about Larson:
“[Brie’s] an amazing person, and she’s the hardest working actor I think I’ve ever met … She’s really thrown herself into the role and embraced it in a way that I could never have imagined in my wildest hopes. Not just in terms of her performance and the way she’s really sunk her teeth into what we love about Carol Danvers from the comic books, but also the way she’s dug into the physical side of the performance.”
Larson worked with the movie’s stunt team daily in her quest to perform as many of her characters’ stunts as possible, and we have no doubt that her hard work will pay off tremendously in the final product.
“We think … that that’s going to translate on-screen to a hero who really feels like Brie and who really brings that performance in every aspect of what you see out of that character,” Schwartz said.

Jonathan Schwartz: With all of these movies, the voice of the actor can’t help but come through. And with Ryan and Anna’s help, and kind of guided by the script, I think they’ve found a version of Carol that’s really cool, that’s not exactly Carol from the comic books, and not even exactly the Carol that you read when you read the script page, but becomes kind of their own unique creation that’s really cool and really interesting. And Brie certainly has done everything she possibly can to make the character feel as real as possible. I think she spent more time at the stunt gym, training for fights, than any actor I’ve ever worked with. Which is amazing to watch. She’s gone up in fighter jets, she’s hung out with the Thunderbirds. She’s going to do a lot of her own stunts this movie, and a lot of her own fighting, which, you saw a little of in that behind the scenes reel. Not a lot, not a ton of actors would be doing those wire gags, doing that stuff for real. I did that stuff earlier today, because I randomly stopped by the stunt gym, and it takes a lot out of you, man! It’s really hard! I do recommend it if you get the chance, stop by stage A, they’ll put you up on wires. It’s super fun, but it’s … it’s not easy. I was pulling this up to show you guys a video, but maybe another time.

The reason why Brie Larson ended up doing her own stunts is actually pretty funny. She said that when she was cast as Captain Marvel, she "just assumed everybody did their own stunts," so she trained and got ready to do anything that her character demanded.
She ended up doing most of them because at some point she realized she could use a double for the most dangerous stunts, but it's still impressive. Captain Marvel’s producer, Jonathan Schwartz, said that “on any other Marvel movie, stunt doubles would be doing 99 percent of what she’s doing.”
