Hi my friend, remember in that period there were Italians in Libya with our friend Mussolini. I think not a good period to stay in that place. Italians done a lot of bad things in Libya, but something of good too. And that few good things then had been cancelled from Libians.
Fantastic video..I'd heard about the Tripoli GP, but never seen any video or even photos...just as I'd imagined it...palm trees, dust...and those amazing machine. Also an interesting bit of political & sporting history too. Fascinating!
These pictures from mechanics and drivers, spectators and the course appear like a tale from 1001 nights ... the whole logistics are beyond comparison .. think about the sheer heat from engine and gearbox (straddled by the pilot) . the Tripoli GPs have to be the ultimate fueldriven adventure 🌹☮️
In Tripoli grand prix 1938 , -The coalition of Daimler & Benz ( Mercedes ) , Used the Electric Starter Motor for the first time in the world , which operating by ( Mercedes Team ) from outside the car by A.C electricity , But I think the other cars Audi, BMW etc, even Italian cars Mazerarti , Alfa Romeo and Bugatti still starting manually . Thus, ( Mercedes Team ) was able to win the race in the first, second and third. ( ITALA ) which won the ( Peking to Paris motor race in 1907 ). was defunct in 1935, Ferrari and Lamborghini were not born yet .
I can just imagine how things could be different if Italy never left Libya. I wonder if had the Tripoli GP continued do you think it is a possibility we would see a Libyan Grand Prix in today's F1 calender or at least in the 80's or 90's?
Bloody hell. This does have A LOT MORE appeal than any Tilkedrome. The cars look like great fun to drive, too. You just need to be a man to attempt a race like this...
@reading70 thats why italy should of never went on the axis side with hitler!!! not only libya but all of north africa..my favorite city is asmara eritrea...very unique city!!! built by italians and eritreans!!!

The Tripoli Grand Prix with its long straight is said to be the fastest circuit of the prewar times, at least as fast as Hockenheim or Monza.
Fastest built and non-oval circuit maybe.
@@mateagoston7113 Avus was faster. But it was a piece of Autobahn with two turns, of them banked

Daniel K But not on a shitty Tilkedrome.
sg FEOPCAD I actually don't mind most of Tilkes track designs... COUGH* COUGH* Shanghai COUGH* COUGH*
They killed 1/3 of the population. Things are way better without them that’s like saying nazis shouldn’t have left Germany
Fantastic.....do you have any footage of 1939, when Mercedes won with the 1.5 "baby" that outwitted the Italians?
At 7:05 could get a commentary how awful the rizinol mixture (163 octane) was for the health of the drivers. Hermann Lang died at 78 years (1987)
I met Hermann Lang at Laguna Seca in 1986.
@@nasirhameed7428 Maybe that's why he died.
Só se fala nisso no Acre
Corrida épica
