Carol we are so alike, I would also have found the black & white beads a bit of a ‘challenge’! 😂 But you’ve come up with a great design to showcase the components and I do like the end result. I’m going to try mixing metals, it’s a great look!
Great job, Carol. You're such an inspiration to my creations. I would love to share a tip here which works for me most of the time. I experience a real problem with jump rings. I work hard to close them, and yet I still have components slipping out of them. I've found that adding a small dab of glue on the open part to seal it does help a bit.
Beautiful!! Love watching you design! BTW, I have to say, I so love how you cut your hair, it so compliments you. 🙂. Thank you so much for giving us the enjoyment of your tutorials. ❤
Thank you so much, Dianne. Regarding my hair - I was wondering the other day if it's time I wore it differently (am I too old to be wearing it like this!) but I think I'll leave it like this for now.
@@The_Stylish_Maker No, not too old at all! Suits your face and your personality perfectly! I showed your pic to my husband and told him I wish I could wear my hair like this (wouldn't suit my face structure) and how good it looked on you and he agreed that it suited you and looked good. Wish I could wear my hear like that. :)
Thank you@@dbolognani . I actually went to the hairdresser yesterday and the other hairdresser working (not mine) said, "Wow, your hair looks amazing" so that made me feel validated that it's still OK. I appreciate your husband's opinion too.
I really loved this video. It was very interesting to watch your design process and then see the end result. I am not really into big beads, so I very much would have struggled with this one, but I must say I really like the look of your finished piece on you. I'm really enjoying catching up on your videos, I have been making jewellery for a while now but I still feel like I learn something every time I watch you!! Thanks :)
Thank you so much, Lexi. I must say that this one did challenge me (which is why it took so long) but it's always good to challenge your creativity. I'm so pleased you liked the end result.
That was fantastic! Honestly? As I watched you open that package I though - what on earth can you do with that mish-mash of beads and components? My brain did not see the possibilities. But the way you combined everything was, frankly, amazing to me. You made something very beautiful out of what I saw as a pile of nothing. Thank you. I really enjoyed watching the process.
Aw, Deborah. You are too kind. I must admit, it did challenge me a little but once I got the idea of the flowers, I was away, but then, of course, I had to figure out how to make them stay there with wiggling. It was a fun challenge and I think I will do it again. Thank you so much.
I love your designs everything is so beautiful. I really struggle designing with bead mixes for some reason, I much prefer curated boxes with whole strands of beads.
Thank you so much, Hope. I must say, I find it much easier to design when I have free reign over what to use. I found this a little limiting but it also stretched my creativity which was good.
Thank you. Did you watch the other two videos where I used some of the other supplies in this kit? ruclips.net/video/tLUsRdRFiQQ/видео.htmlsi=aSX7WAKaUwZeBR4C ruclips.net/video/4n3kbwTC4lo/видео.htmlsi=jPEw7aIZpV1P0_Om
Thank you Marjorie. I ended up with three items. Another tutorial coming out next week and then the week after. I enjoyed the challenge - it was good for my creativity.
Hi Carol, I am completely new to jewellery making and you have taught me so much already so thank you. Can I just ask, how do you price your pieces? Do you just charge for materials and time or do you add a profit on top? I understand why people add profit if they are going to be employing people but I’m not so if I can’t make it it won’t get made!
Hi Mandie, that's quite a hard question to answer because it really depends on the piece. I would take the cost of the materials and the time it takes (at a reasonable hourly rate) and double it. Having said that, you really need to look around you. For example, if I go to a craft fair here, I can often find earrings for sale for $5 (this annoys me because no-one can be making money at this price and it makes everyone else seem expensive). Generally, however, they are more like $15 which is a much better price. I think the best way is to have a look at what others are doing. You can also look on Etsy. Remember to take into account any packaging that you might use as well.
Wow it is beautiful. You are the best ❤❤❤ Could you please tell me which wire is the best for making loops except for the half heart wire, which doesn’t fade or tarnish🫶
Thank you so much. For loops I only use half hard (German Style) wire which has a copper core and is plated. Here's a link to a video about loops: ruclips.net/video/dcEQ3SV_pyk/видео.htmlsi=NlM_iHJco_LYsJ8q Also, here's a link to some wire I would use: amzn.to/49i3tRu
Hi Carol, great design with that gift you got. I have a question. Do you have a video that explains the wires? There are so many out there, different numbers of wires wrapped in nylon that are stainless steel. What is the rule of thumb for this? I have had a couple that I am just about to run out of and if you can shed some light on which to get for which reason, that would really help. Thanks so much.
I did a livestream with my members a couple of weeks ago where I went into depth about wire. I'm not sure if you're a member but if you are, here's the link: ruclips.net/user/livekHiMniKTv08?si=lDSH-BS0TOBvIcg4 I haven't done anything that is on the main channel yet.
Problems with wire wrapping can come when the wire is too hard. Are you using a half hard wire? If so, what gauge? I would try using a 22 gauge - that's the easiest to wire wrap in my opinion.
@@The_Stylish_Maker I try to use the posts that have my bead on it already and it is just impossible. I like the finished ball or flat plate at the end to hold the bead.
I tottally love those baged mysteries creating your own pieces is so fun how much are them bags im interested in getting some myself!!where can i order them

Thank you so much ❤❤, I think the stuff Amazon selling in the USA is deferent from(UK) I think you are living in the USA am I right 😀 I found one half hard wire gauge 20 it is around£20 I think it is too expensive 😮
I live in New Zealand. I link to the US Amazon because a good portion of my viewers are from the US. The Australian Amazon (we don't have an Amazon in New Zealand) also sells different things from the US. I used to get things shipped from the US store to New Zealand but the cost of shipping is now too high. It depends how much wire is on the spool. This looks like a good one. www.amazon.co.uk/Beadalon-German-Style-Wire-Silver-Round/dp/B004972YPO

Thank you so much, Jane. I think mixing the beads with the mixed metals worked really well to make it "not so black and white". Ha ha.
That necklace and earring set is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much.
Carol!! How complex! Very stunning! As always arrange such beautiful pieces. Your awesome
Thank you so much, Charisse. Glad you liked it.

Love it, Carol. you do such beautiful work. Thank you. Missed your videos.🌞☀

Love this! The earrings are perfect.
Thank you, Pat. Yes, I felt that the earrings needed to be understated given the size of the necklace.
You look like a child in a candy shop. 😊 I really love that flower combination you came up with.

I wish more customers were open to the idea.
