It's the "Hello?" at the end with the glowing eyes for me. It's like it's saying talking to you before your impending doom by using your friends voice. Like that's terrifying to me 😭
I use this mod, and it's hilarious. One time I was sitting on the ship and a dog just started singing, "Last Rizzmas, I gave you my gyatt. The very next day..." The best part is I knew exactly when that voice clip was taken from and know exactly the conversation that led to it.
So.. does the mod just.. start listening right away or...

@@timtimothy5405 I've seen the code, it basically just creates audio clips of your voices and plays them back at a certain interval if you're near a monster, very cool mod.
The Dev for LC really went crazy with how good the Braken is. Combined with how crazy the skinwalker concept is, this is horrifying
i hope there's some sort of "mimic" in the game that gets added like this vid. would make the game absolutely terrifying, not being able to distinguish friend or foe only makes any horror game more intense and actually scary. not to mention that it'll confuse new players and blur the line from "oh that noise is good" and "jesus christ i'm going to die"

I had an encounter with a bracken and right before it lunged at me it replayed my friends screams of horror.
I hope they make a new entity like a mimic that could copy others voices and would look like another team member until you got close to it, it would disguise itself as whoever it killed last and their body would be consumed unable to be recovered.

The Bracken is the best fitting monster for this mod, especially since it stalks and lurks in the darkness. Works extremely well for when you find yourself alone and no knowledge on the other's whereabouts or status.
The comforting knowledge that a friend is there to help you immediately turning to horror.
and Braken take out people silently, you sometime probably dont even know one of your friend went missing 😰

This voice mimicry mod on other creatures just doesn't fit at all. Okay, _maybe_ not the Eyeless Dogs, as it could use that as a lure to get a response and locate the player, but besides that, Bracken is the *_perfect_* host for voice mimicry.
Not to mention that the rarity ensures that you can never guess if it truly is your friend or the Bracken. They hide, they wait, they follow, and they explicitly target one person to drag away.
Turn a corner, bam, your friend gone... But you don't know that, do you? I mean, Brackens aren't a guaranteed encounter at times. It might not even spawn, who knows? All you know is that neither you nor your crew has seen it your entire time here. So maybe you just got naturally separated from your friend, or they just went somewhere for a moment, because you can still hear them talk, surely nothing has happened. In fact, you can hear them on the other side of the wall. They're just in this room, or at the end of a hallway, they're still alive, still talking, guiding you towards them so you can of course meet up, and get this job done...
Eyes pop out of the darkness. You've been talking to no one. And that split-second realization of horror speaks volumes.

The faft that it can get you to genuinely reply and converse with it so fucked up. Especially because the game makes you call out names and simple words all the time (run, come here, help). So everything suddenly sounds real and easy to fool.
This mod genuinely terrified me. It made me feel so violated and spied on, the way it took snippets of me and my friend's conversation. Pure genius whoever made this.

The fact that at first its calling your name, then it speaks gibberish and then the "hello?" The confusion in your voice, the horrified screaming. And it setting in on how badly you got decived by an apex predator. Fricking chills dude!
It doesn’t speak gibberish dude, there is two. One says in another voice to the other bracken, “Oh we definitely hit quota.” Then….

I don't have a pc to play lc but can someone tell the skinwalkers do thay just appear or does someone need to put on a mask or something
The skinwalker mod. gives the ablilty for all monsters to mimic. it can be configured in settings of the mod
The masked people are different from the skinwalker mod. In order for them to appear either a person has to wear a tragedy or comedy mask, or a masked person could spawn naturally
