I can't explain how happy it makes me that this show treated Torfun with so much respect. She never disappeared and she was never treated like a side character. She is the main lead too in her own way. Her kindness and her warmth were shown throughout the show to make us understand why her life and her death impacted the people so much. Why someone like her would never be forgotten by the people around her. And I love that they never treated her love for Phupha as anything less than Phupha and Tian's love for each other. It was unrequited and tragic and heartbreaking, but it was never an obstacle or a disturbance or just a way to move the story forward. Her love was respected like all love should be respected, and I love the show for that. This show will always have such a special place in my heart
Facts. At first, I thought Torfun will be forgotten in the drama because she already died but no, in every episode she was there or she was mentioned. And the way Torfun's one-sided love never affect Tian and Phupha's love story. The way they let us know Phupha loves Torfun but not like the way Torfun loves Phupha but still it's not a reason to affect Tian and Phupha. The drama is really so good and will taught you so many things. It didn't just focus in love that makes it better.
I loved how pure her love is for Chief. Instead of wishing for Chief to love her back, she wished for Chief to be able to find his true love. I’m glad the series did not make her a selfish female third wheel which is very cliched in BL stories.

The show did a really good job making me care about a character that barely appeared in the show. This is good writing ya'll. I cried buckets when this song played over the scene when Tian was counting stars and the transition scenes drawing parallels between Tian and Torfun was just damn good.
Yes , I'm very happy that they give us a better understanding from Torfun's side, we finally can see how much she loves Phupha and the whole Phu Phan Dao village.. The parallel scenes between her and Tian are really good, I can't stop crying :') .. also the part when she said 'Thank You' to Phupha, the way they put that part after Phupha hugging Tian, somehow it feels like Torfun saying Thank You to Tian for everything that he has done for her.. ommgggg it's so sadd...

Torfun knew the chief could not love her more than a sister as he does not like women. But she wished the chief will love her when she gets back. She went back in the body of Tian. Tian counted the stars to fulfill Torfun's wish not knowing that he already did when he went up the hill to teach. If only the chief will realize this. . . what a lovely story.
*Correction: She didn't wish for Phu to love her, but she chose someone who will love Phu as much as she loved him, but that person should be able to open his heart. So, instead of wishing Phu to lover her back, she chose Phu's happiness instead.*
Phupha mentioned in the end that the wish was already granted knowing that his stern character was softened when he met Tian. It was a beautiful ending. Super love.
As I’m Thai. I frankly speak that A tale of thousands stars is the best series I’ve ever seen in Thailand. And wish there will be the other great series came out in the future.

This is currently my tier list 1. I TOLD SUNSET ABOUT YOU - best bl I've ever watched. For me it's even better than ATOTS but yeah ATOTS is also good asf. I can't help but to cry everytime Teh cries 😭😭😭 2.. ADDICTED/HEROINE - i think this is the very first bl series that made noise internationally. It is a chinese budget bl series so don't expect much with the production but the actors are gorgeous and the story is damn good. Just watch at your own risk as unfortunately, it was banned by the chinese government so yeah it ended with a very big cliffhanger. But I still highly recommend it. If you want to finish it, you can read the novel. 3. ATOTS - no need to explain this one is just naturally beautiful. 4. HE'S COMING TO ME - aside from the very good plot, the comedic scenes on this series are damn natural and funny. That rooftop scene still lingers in my mind 😭 5. CHERRY MAGIC - a Japanese romcom bl. If you like anime/ especially if you watch yaoi, most probably you'll like this since the production is the same: with those monologues, oa expressions etc. 5. SOTUS - the only bl that made me so obsessed with the couple for a very long time. The production of season 1 is kinda lacking but the story is good. It kinda revolves in the usual engineering scenes. For years, it served as the standard for thai bl series because of how good it is. 6. GAYA SA PELIKULA (LIKE IN THE MOVIES) - The only Filipino bl series that I liked. There are countless of Filipino bl out there but this was the only one that I loved. The plot is good but what made it so legendary are the lessons and symbolisms that were incorporated in each episode. The series was intentionally created to break the norms in the lgbt community. 7. HiStory - HiStory is a Taiwanese bl consists of 8 mini series... While all of them are good, Crossing the Line and Trapped are my favorites. 8. RED BALLOON - a short Chinese/Taiwanese bl series and it made me cry a lot 9. SKAM S3 - All of the versions are good but SKAM S3 FRANCE is my fave. 10. Yandai By Way 10 - Like Addicted, it's not complete due to chinese censorship but it's still a good series I hope you like my suggestions

I cried so hard when they play this song at the Pha Pun Dao cliff scene where Tian was counting 1000 stars from the sky at Ep. 9. That was such an emotional scene and this song brought it 10 times more I couldn't help but break down.
For me, I cried full of tears but silently in that scene. But I suddenly bursted out when in the end of the scene, there's Torfun's voice said "khob khun na" =")))))) it's like all the pain, all the weight, all that suddenly lifted constantly.
Compared to the original, Aye Sarun's version is more sentimental, recounting her feelings for Phupha, who, not being a requited love, wants him to find someone to take him out of the chrysalis and be able to love that person.
Torfun singing for us from Heaven with her angelic voice 🥺 Honestly, when I saw Aye as one of the cast in ATOTS, I know she’s gonna sing the OST too cause she got a very nice vocals and she sang a lot of OSTs before. Torfun must be happy in heaven because Tian brought her heart back to Pha Phun Dao to be close again to Chief Phupha. It might not happen to all of us. But it doesn't mean wishes don't come true. This cover by Aye make the series more sad, i'm admit that the 1st version also really suit for the series, but FOR ME, Aye's version make the series be more dramatic. The two versions of this song speaks to how even though Torfun and Tian's lives were so different, Phupa and the villagers are what connected them. In the end, their wish was the same. Earth and the others said he put too much pressure on himself to make the scene come out perfectly and since Mix is a newbie when it comes to acting (I believe Tale of 1000 Stars was his debut work in a series) the pressure overwhelmed him, combined with the extreme cold weather. Mix even said he wouldn't have come to the audition if Earth hadn't called him personally and asked him to audition to become his partner. I love how Mix and Earth have been best friends for 8 years now. xDDD

Tian counted the stars to fulfill Torfun's wish not knowing that he already did when he went up the hill to teach. If only the chief will realize this. . . what a lovely story.
*Correction: She didn't wish for Phu to love her, but she chose someone who will love Phu as much as she loved him, but that person should be able to open his heart. So, instead of wishing Phu to lover her back, she chose Phu's happiness instead.*

As I’m Thai. I frankly speak that A tale of thousands stars is the best series I’ve ever seen in Thailand. And wish there will be the other great series came out in the future.

1. I TOLD SUNSET ABOUT YOU - best bl I've ever watched. For me it's even better than ATOTS but yeah ATOTS is also good asf. I can't help but to cry everytime Teh cries 😭😭😭
2.. ADDICTED/HEROINE - i think this is the very first bl series that made noise internationally. It is a chinese budget bl series so don't expect much with the production but the actors are gorgeous and the story is damn good. Just watch at your own risk as unfortunately, it was banned by the chinese government so yeah it ended with a very big cliffhanger. But I still highly recommend it. If you want to finish it, you can read the novel.
3. ATOTS - no need to explain this one is just naturally beautiful.
4. HE'S COMING TO ME - aside from the very good plot, the comedic scenes on this series are damn natural and funny. That rooftop scene still lingers in my mind 😭
5. CHERRY MAGIC - a Japanese romcom bl. If you like anime/ especially if you watch yaoi, most probably you'll like this since the production is the same: with those monologues, oa expressions etc.
5. SOTUS - the only bl that made me so obsessed with the couple for a very long time. The production of season 1 is kinda lacking but the story is good. It kinda revolves in the usual engineering scenes. For years, it served as the standard for thai bl series because of how good it is.
6. GAYA SA PELIKULA (LIKE IN THE MOVIES) - The only Filipino bl series that I liked. There are countless of Filipino bl out there but this was the only one that I loved. The plot is good but what made it so legendary are the lessons and symbolisms that were incorporated in each episode. The series was intentionally created to break the norms in the lgbt community.
7. HiStory - HiStory is a Taiwanese bl consists of 8 mini series... While all of them are good, Crossing the Line and Trapped are my favorites.
8. RED BALLOON - a short Chinese/Taiwanese bl series and it made me cry a lot
9. SKAM S3 - All of the versions are good but SKAM S3 FRANCE is my fave.
10. Yandai By Way 10 - Like Addicted, it's not complete due to chinese censorship but it's still a good series

I cried so hard when they play this song at the Pha Pun Dao cliff scene where Tian was counting 1000 stars from the sky at Ep. 9. That was such an emotional scene and this song brought it 10 times more I couldn't help but break down.
For me, I cried full of tears but silently in that scene. But I suddenly bursted out when in the end of the scene, there's Torfun's voice said "khob khun na" =")))))) it's like all the pain, all the weight, all that suddenly lifted constantly.
Compared to the original, Aye Sarun's version is more sentimental, recounting her feelings for Phupha, who, not being a requited love, wants him to find someone to take him out of the chrysalis and be able to love that person.

@@andydufresne5297 It was the fatigue, cold weather and the pressure of performing perfectly. Earth and the others said he put too much pressure on himself to make the scene come out perfectly and since Mix is a newbie when it comes to acting (I believe Tale of 1000 Stars was his debut work in a series) the pressure overwhelmed him, combined with the extreme cold weather. Mix even said he wouldn't have come to the audition if Earth hadn't called him personally and asked him to audition to become his partner. I love how Mix and Earth have been best friends for 8 years now. xDDD

เรื่องนี้ ต้องขอบคุณทอฝัน ถ้าไม่มีทอฝัน ความฝัน การสานต่อเรื่องต่างๆคงไม่เกิดขึ้น ขอบคุณที่ทำให้เจอหัวหน้าภูผา และทำให้มีครูสีเทียน ที่สานต่อเรื่องต่างๆที่ทอฝันอยากทำแต่ไม่มีโอกาสได้ทำ ขอบคุณที่ทำให้เกิดตัวละครดีๆขึ้นมา คิดแล้วก็อบอุ่นหัวใจมากครับ
คือชอบอ้ายตอนร้องเพลงมากๆ รู้จักอ้ายจากการร้องเพลงประกอบละครเรื่อง วันเกิดของนาย จากนั้นก็ค่อยๆไล่ตามดูผลงาน อ้ายเป็นคนมีเสน่ห์มากนะ ยิ่งเวลาร้องเพลงคือดึงดูดสายตามากๆ
