- Shock, sadness and grief echoed throughout Oakland early Friday morning with the news that an undercover officer had been shot and killed in the line of duty while responding to a burglary.

Not a word about the "commercial burglary" that was the reason for the police response that caused the officer to lose his life in an ambush. It was the second burglary in several hours at a cannabis dispensary.
Remaining Officers need to quit en mass. Send a clear and concise message this will no longer be tolerated. 54 officers gone is disgraceful. City leaders and progressive Judges have civilian and cop blood on their hands now.
Police should not protect marijuana, dispensary clubs they should hire their own private security. They make plenty of money
Deepest condolences to Officer Le’s family and loved ones. The city of Oakland can’t afford to lose any of our law enforcement. Our city has been in anarchy for years. It’s very troubling to me that this happened. The thieves that killed Officer Le probably drive to our city every evening to rob and plunder our business and residents. There are NO consequences for crime in Oakland. It’s a free for all, and has been for a long time! Our police have been told not to engage anyone committing burglary unless the officer can see a firearm. Otherwise they are told to stand down, and watch the thieves empty the business, and not to pursue the thieves vehicle when it pulls off. Policies like these have endangered both law enforcement and citizens, emboldened thieves and give them the feeling that everything in our city is free for the taking! I really hope that this tragedy will bring Oaklands policing policies under review? The sick reality is that these guys have probably been to Oakland breaking into our businesses previously. If we had more aggressive policies in regards to dealing with crimes in progress? There is a good chance that these guys would have been incarcerated and this tragedy could have been prevented. It’s going to be really sad when they finally catch up to these clowns responsible for this, only to discover that they had been arrested recently, only to be cut free by Ms Price. And there is NO excuse for OPD to be without a police chief. Our Mayor needs to stop giving speeches and start putting in the work that our city desperately needs!Something has to change or it’s only going to get worse ! 🤦🏽♂️

Oakland PD is more professional than a lot of people give them credit for
I've watch them solve community problems pretty efficiently
I've also watched them be *very patient* with members of the community (who were being counter-productive)
Officer Le seems like the good, professional cops I've met
(They're not all great, a SWAT commander once received a vote of no confidence from his team)
But on the whole, most are pretty professional.

Will Aunt Pam even prosecute the suspect when caught? And if so, how light a sentence will she allow? Oakland is just the type of city that doesn't reward it's good citizens like this officer was.
Police union should file a lawsuit to city of Oakland, District attorney and Newsom for dereliction of duty. We all knew this was gonna happen by policies that put our police dept in danger. Turn your backs on the mayor at the funeral. For not calling out Newsom and his crime enhancing politics
