It's true and false at the same time. 30 % of chinese still live in cave still today and some deserts like taklamakan occupied most of the country. you can say only 40 to 50 % land they can use , others are useless. That's why china still not called "developed" country. And their govt trying so hard to occupied others places like taiwan and indian some places. Despite all these govt issues , chinese ppl are always thoughtful and friendly and not involve in politics, just live their life. One thing I notice about Chinese cities, other than their cleanliness and infrastructure is the fact that they are CROWDED but not CHAOTIC! It is intangible qualities like these that India needs to learn and adopt from other over-populated countries like China. Development toh India mein tezi se ho rahi hai, so China jaisa infrastructure hum kabhi na kabhi bana hi lenge. Lekin aise population manage karna hume zaroor seekhna hoga.
We can learn alot from Chin, not just development but the behaviour of people towards foreigners is amazing ❤

What strikes me the most is not how great China's infrastructure is, or how clean the streets are, or how safe the area is, BUT how carefree and happy the people are. They are so friendly and engaging. Sometimes, we always have the impression that if the society is not "democracy", it must be oppressive and the people are fighting for their freedom. That is totally not true. People are happy because they have stable environment and good value system (work hard and play hard, and treat others the way you want to be treated, be humble). There are many governmental systems in the world. They all exist for a reason. The only way to measure their value is measuring their end result on governing the society.

Yes, where I live (America) the news and media outlets are always saying that people in China are sad, oppressed, and have no freedom. But on my visits to China, I have noticed that Chinese people seem way happier than the average American person.

What's wrong with Chinese people don't speak English? Not like Indians, they are proud to speak their colonial master's touge. Chinese are proud to speak Chinese.
When I visited different places, I didn't feel any disappointment let alone despised local people who don't speak English. I was grateful when they tried their best to communicate with me.

There is no comparison, most important is that people are very good in China, the government is great, so much of development has happened in last 43 years since i am seeing China, I have seen china becoming from zero to hero since 1980, lived there for more then 18 years, People in India just talk anything about anyone, especially media, so much of fake news about China and many other countries, China is really Great Country, most safe nation, lot of security for people, zero fear of government, and very very safe nation,
China has done some great strides in development sure! But I won't bet on 'no fear of government' part!
China is a cashless society. After applying for an Alipay account, it can be bound to a VISA account. In this way, you can shop and take the subway, and pay with your mobile phone. Keep some cash on hand, too. Usually no cash is required.
I have been living in China since 2017 and I have never used cash for anything, I and the people I know never carry cash on us, cash is outdated.

I have been regularly visiting China from 2004. Chongqing is definitely a very beautiful and extremely vibrant place. I always stay at a Harbour Plaza Hotel. Incidentally you can always have vegetarian Hotpot too. Basically Hotpot is a great specialty of this place and it’s one of the best of Sichuan cuisine. Hotpot is basically a very big pot with fire or heater’s on. You can always choose the very many available vegetables as Cauliflower Potatoes Cabbage, many types of greens and green leafy vegetables, with many different types of mushrooms and whatever else you want to choose. It is put in the Hotpot and you can keep eating. Therefore, I can share my personal experience of not having any problems eating vegetarian meals. You will find the best varieties of extremely tasty fruits etc etc.
