How about just cardboard ? Does it help reduce ecos of walls ? And do you think I can record acoustic guitar with this set up ? I mean just cardboard on walls.
The cardboard definitely makes a big differences, I did two layers then the foam. Makes a really dead sound, not exactly "sound-proof" but still holds in a lot and lets me blast tunes without making my neighbors upset (hopefully)
So this was more a test run to inspire other people to build their own studios. I have been able to play drums much more freely now. Although there is still one lady who is not hyped even though the sound has been suppressed a wild amount.
Galactic Seabass that sucks someone is still complaining, she just need to move out lol but yea man It definitely inspired me to do it though I haven’t started just yet since I still have to buy the foam and stuff
@@humbertoguzman9669 Yeah man insulation, bass traps for the corners, foam for the sides, blankets on top, as much as you can. Doesn't have to be super expensive! Ebay has great deals.
Unfortunately this stuff will not soundproof your room lol. At best, cheap thin foam like that will just slightly reduce the reflections of sound waves bouncing around the drywall surfaces.
Sorry to seem like a hater.. but wth man! Cardboard for sound proofing? And foam?! You need 2 layers airtight walls or room in a room. I am a low budget guy myself.. but some laws of physics we do need to abide if we want to make stuff work..
Physics would imply that any force is met with an equal an opposite force. If cardboard layers; 1, 2, & the foam didn't do anything, then technically that wouldn't apply and your laws of physics would technically be wrong. See you at the player hater's ball.
Welp! I’ll be such a soar hating looser after my recording session with Gehenna tonight. From one of my proper sound proofed studios with no cardboard, all rockwool , dry walls and air gaps... But be my guess, Just treat advice and corrections as hate..
@@geirhelgechristiansen3647 You literally started your comment with, "Sorry to seem like a hater..." It wasn't advice or even constructive criticism. You just seem rude and arrogant. Idgaf where you are recording, won't stop you from being rude or not knowing how to spell sore (soar is when you soaring over the open sky). Who knows, maybe you'll see this as hate too. Nobody likes a SOAR WINNER lmao
You know that guy f u c k e d over the rest of the band and took all the money for himself and that's why he is the only original member still performing the songs, right? I see no benefit in playing for someone who obviously is not a "all for one, one for all" kind of dude. The rest of the band don't like him, I don't like him, my mom doesn't like him, my grandma doesn't like him, shoot even my dog doesn't like him, and I don't even have a dog. So why don't you do something with your own life instead of telling me what to do with mine. Thanks!
Soon as the cardboard was up you can hear a big difference
Honestly though!! DIY FTW
adding that much acoustic foam is over kill to the sound. also it does not help with stopping sound traveling through walls.
I have since learned this lol. remember, I went into this with absolutely no idea what I was doing, just wanted to do it.
So what does work
@@salcity1 Thick mineral wool
Great job mr Jesus Jones!
Nice job, btw you can use a large sound insulation to make your works easier and it will make your space looks clean

Do you have an update to the video like did the foam idea worked? Have your neighbors complained again?

Galactic Seabass thanks a bunch man! I’ll definitely take your advice
Hello can you also add list off description and things that used and where did you got it from.
Did it work? Did they complain?
I love everything about this video
This is one of my dreams
Do it!
Is it actually sound proof tho!?

@@adamhaymanmusic For sure. This is sound treated, not sound proofed. Hopefully it did the job.
@@tobyswope6875 yeah I just wanted to clear it up for the viewers who heard you say “soundproof” in the video
@@adamhaymanmusic Not my vid, just agreeing with you for the same reason.

nails
Grateful music 🎶 Studio 💞❤️ love it fantastic 💖👍

Thank you!
How much did it cost in total?
Maybe $200? Cardboard was all free, so all I paid for was the foam and the nails.

Always up to something! =] Thanks for watching!
Hows the acoustic in the room?
Pretty dead sounding, doesn't really contain the drums it hold well under pressure from most other instruments and music though
MUST BE BAD
👍👍
I love it, nice work!, I hate the neighbors, Because they don't like music
how are those sound cubes called?
probably a bass trap. it’s meant just to absorb deep low frequency noises.
like footsteps in a household.
