Rockerman was a great movie. Many didn’t get it. I loved it. Particularly if you understand what EJ went through with his addictions. Im an alcoholic 14 yrs sober. Here is one of the most talented people ever, who almost lost everything to his addictions but overcame and put his life back together.
Wonder if he and his mother are still on the outs. I wonder if she really did try to blame him for ruining her crappy marriage to his father. That scene where his father says, "Don't you ever touch my records again" was like a sudden arctic blast with that contempt and hostility in his voice. I remember being spoken to that way on a regular basis by the so-called adults in my life when I was little; it's like being slapped, especially when you're trying to reach out to them.
They didn't use this at the end of the movie--it's an alternate version. It confused me because I couldn't tell if the video was all a recreation or original. I think they should have used this version instead.
I love this mix of the movie and Elton himself. As someone who grew up in the 70s and loved Elton, this movie was such a joy. And Taron did a great job.

I actually liked how Elton John danced and moved in the original music video better than Taron Edgerton did. Elton was more natural in his motions, while Taron seemed to be mugging for the camera at times.
I was in my bedroom with friend listening to the album, Yellowbrick Road in the early 1920s. The phone rang. My Mom answered it. Came to the bottom of the stairway after about ten minutes. Said the call was for me. As I spoke with my best friend at that time, she told me her brother committed suicide by shooting himself in his mouth in his bedroom. Funeral For a Friend was playing during that time. He had cancer and couldn't deal with it. I've known him since Kindergarten since 1964. I will see him again when I go to Heaven. 💔🙏😇😢
